    elite -III's are a very good choice, got 18,000 miles out of mine. now i'm giveing avons a try and hope I have as good luck as with the eliteIII's.

    can anyone tell me if modifying the air boxes on the 2nd gin will help it breathe a little better?? and how is it done?and will it hurt the bike? a lot of questions,but if there is a way to help the bike I would like to do it.but if it dosen't help ,there is no reason to do it.:confused24: jack

    I have the I basket in there now and it is so loud it almost gives me a head hurt... I have had 4 different baskets and the h- basket worked better for me .

    I got a h-basket off e-bay and would like to put all new stuff in it.just wondering if some one could tell me where to get every thing. :confused24:I would like to go with up- grade. I will be pulling a trailer a lot this summer.

    sorry to be so late to help.I have a shop manual thet I got from yamaha, I have never even looked at. I ordered it then traded my 1700 for the rsv. don't have any use for it now. if it will help in any way let me know..... it must be about 1in. thick. like I said sorry to be late..

    got my speed-o-healer on today --works great and very easy job. now my bike isn't as fast as I though it was. it will still go faster than I care to ride.

    first and formost-fix the cherp very easy-change the streight gears. next we will need a little more power to make up for the loss of the streight gears fI would be very nice better breaks lower the bike a little the casett player has gone the way of the dinosaur these few fixes should not affect the price that much. the great price for such a nice bike is one the reasons I bought it.

    here in the texas panhandel yesterday we had a great ride . we:thumbsup: left amarillo about 9 inthe morning. got home about 6. was a great ride. to much wend today to go out,[ gusts up to 50 mph.

    I wonder how hard would it be to just fix the things that we think are wrong with the mtr. we have now? I know it wouldn't take much doing to fix the noisy clutch. how hard would it be to get more horses out of this de-tuned little mtr.? and why would I want it anyway?[because]it's better to have it and not need it- than not to have it and need it.:doh:

    I can almost buy 3 venturs for what that one bike cost,24k is a lot of money to pay for a sore butt & back.but just one time i;like to run 200mph. i'm getting to old to even think about that.:mo money:
