    I have been using r-t syn 5-40 for a long time now and every thing seems to work smother. I tried m-1& ams. I kike the Rot-t the best.

    like mr. goose said [it's easy to tell the diffrence between clutch and rear end]. the noise will be at the same rpm in any gear if is the clutch.[which mine dose] I don't think any one in the whole USofA has changed the c-basket more than me .I am now on my 5th basket. still have the same noise.both I- baskets made more noise than did the others. so i'll be watching for a good h-basket to replace the new I-basket I just installed.did the rear end thing did'nt work for me.

    thanks goose I might take you up on that.. I am at a loss as to what to do I guess I will just learn to live with it. just seems to me that there should a fix for it...I have ridden other ventures that had little or no noise at all. I am at aloss.

    just put my secound I basket in and it still makes the same noise. that sucker still screams at about 24-32 hundred rpms. it is even lowder than the g basket i took out . I wish i had a H basket to put in or a p-q-r-m-or somthing to stop the noise lol. and on top of that my shock just started leaking, and my guy at the dealer said he had to have my bike long enough to take picture of shock -send it in before they would send another to us. he said this takes about 2 weeks??? O- O-what will i do for 2 weeks??

    LOVE MY 130 AVON. THE THING SO MUCH BETTER AND FILLS SO MUCH LIGHTER THAT I DON'T THINK I WILL GO BACK.

    have the squeak only on cold days ..on hot day no squeak...also no oil; on the floor

    lowered mine just for the heck of it.has no wobbleat all . have taken my hands of going 40mph. just to see if it would track streight... went streight as a string..you can't do this mod if you don''t take the tripple tree apart.you do not take the entir tree off your bike.but go ahead and do the mod ,,it will be a good learing exercize.take your time and enjoy the mod.

    their is so much to see that you will not want to do very many miles..unless its rianing,also the speed limit isnt very condusive to 5th gear ,,I was pulling a trailor, and stayed in 4th most of the way.. it will make you wish that you lived in one of the valleys..I wish I was going with you,,,lol. have a great time and take lots of pictures,,,, jack

    thanx boomer!!! that is grrrrreat. now I know the one I have is not a I basket,, because that # is no where to be found on it. now I need a # for customer service at yamaha so I can fuss at them a little. ha ha ! a lot of good that would do.

    I have changed the basket 3 times now and none have made any diffrence in the churp. the last one the dealer put in was supost to be an I basket but I did not see an I on it any where. I hope some one will note the # of the I basket so I can tell if it truley is a I basket. I got a H basket off ebay and installed it , but still has same churp...

    sorry it took so long to get back--the basket that I took out was supost to be a I basket. and I can't tell that it is'nt. but the only # on it is 26H01 t-3. these are the only # on the thing. so i'm wondering which one it is. I cant find any one who knows the # of the I basket ....so if any one who has an I basket happens to know the # , would you mind giveing it to me?? thanks jack:think:

    just got a set the other day. did the same thing,wouldn't go all the way in. all I had to do was [chase the threads.] worked great after that.

    speaking of clutches and stuff. can anyone tell me how to tell an-h- basket from a-I- basket??I just replaced my spring and my basket. pretty sure I took out the -I-- basket, but could not find an -I- on it any where....and by the way it is very easy to change the spring. good luck!!!
