  1. Bob, Glad you and Karen are AOK . We were in the U.P. this weekend and just minutes in front of us a car broadsided a snub buck too (must be a hormone thing), and the Car entire front end was caved in 10" and Radiator crushed too. It deployed their Air Bags and stunned them. They were OK and on the cell phone. FYI. MYTHBUSTER TV SHOW proved the Deer Whistles were worthless.
  2. HAMMER TIME :smash2: Then tell the Stealer 7,000 of your Venture Rider Friends will be seeing either a GOOD Dealer post or a BAD Stealer post, which translate to gained or lost his next move....
  3. Oh YES... I forgot to add that to my to do list. Thanks ECK
  4. And you have to knock off another $1,000.00 because it is "Black" and might be mistaken for a HD at a quick glance... LOL
  5. Plate see Pic #3 Below LED Taillight is Bracket for Plate Oops for got hitch add $140... Venturedad complete. Now nearly $750.00

Improvements To DO List. Add 24" to Tongue and add a Cooler Rack (this will increase my Tongue Weight from 10% to xx%. Also drill out existing hinges that hold it open to 30 degrees angle and allow it to open with small chain to 95 to 100 Degrees Angle. Thanks to all for your information and ideas.
  7. Switch and fuse STRAIGHT to the Battery... Why you say? You can have a total electrical failure at 10:30pm going 70 mph down the road and calmly reach over and hit the AUXILIARY Lighting (Passing Lamps or whatever else you want to call them). YES "IF" you accidentally leave them on it will kill your battery. If you search you can find some post here about Platinum Burners from WallyWorld for less than $16.00 and Chrome with complete wiring and "Lighted Switch" & fuse. I'm not cheap... I'm frugal... 2 cents...
  8. Me thinks your GW friends have you PSYCO Out! Plenty of power!
  9. Called it a Shelter Half because each Soldier was issued one half. So you had to find a buddy to make it a two man shelter. I spent a few weeks / months in them since 1982 (Wow 27 years ago and Still serving in US Army Reserve for 7 more years) What can I say I believe if a job needs to be done then shut up and do it... Where have the years gone???
  10. Live near Orlando FL and want to make a M/C Trailer for cheap here is your chance. Hope this helps some one out. Link: http://forums.delphiforums.com/MCTrailertowing/messages/?msg=6904.1
  11. On my LIST. Kewennaw was my old stomping grounds at Michigan Technological Univeristy MTU. Best done in FALL but FALL comes Early 2nd or 3rd week Sept is peak color and COLD Nights...
  12. WELCOME, Shell Rotella 5w-40 SYNTHETIC... 'What Tick" since 600mi now nearly 5,000 miles. Seriously did this happen with Factory Yamalube before 600mi? If so replace with Yamalube and get back to Dealer for Warranty Work. The Yamalube is classified as a SEMI-SYNTHETIC and then you went pure DINO maybe go other way pure SYN. Keep us posted & WELOCME
  13. Gary, The Western Shoreline for sure. I can guide you between Manistee, MI and Traverse City, MI on State Road M-22. Also M-119 form North Traverse City (somewhere) to the Big Mackinaw Bridge (see http://www.mapquest.com). As far as OTHER South to North Routes (Excluding I-75) See M-66 and M-37. All are in my area. Gary I seen you at MD but you had alot of folks around and I was bouncing around Tent City. Maybe see ya soon.
  14. OOOPPSSSSSSY Now I see this is a RSTD! Below information is for RSV 2nd Gen... Why not use the Cigarette Light "Type" DC Aux on lower left side of fairing? That does have a fuse it is in right front cowling with several other fuses. Plug & Play!
  15. For those that a financial y challenged you can get neary the same "Rake Effect" by dropping stock front end 1 full inch and it cost your time and some tools. It is in Tech Library. Also helps with Inseam challenged too... LOL
  16. Just to be CLEAR... These are "additional safety aids" and ARE NOT substitutes for Shoulder Checks.
  17. Agree so far. Do a search on "Oil" Many hours of reading there. I have 4,800 miles and I would say pickup LOCKTITE "BLUE" and check 100% nutz, screws, bolts, Ect.. Also read "KNOWN ISSUES" section in Tech Library.
  18. Jeff, First WELCOME Click "Community" above then go down to "Memberlist" then " Full List". Scan for Wisconsin and local Cities to you. Write down some phone numbers, emails, ect... Worked out well for me.
  19. I picked this up too. My review: Volume is adequate, but more power would be better. You BETTER have the connector arrows 1,000% lined up. Girlfriend bent a pin already (I was able to fix it). Can not see black arrows in low light (I will add glow paint) The FM is worthless, but with MP3, AUX on bike that is no issue (except volume mentioned above). I choose to run MP3 thru Venture AUX and speakers and keep intercom separate). The cell phone feature is REALLY COOL...(again more volume would be better) Mic's are good size and decent quality. Ear speakers are a bit LARGE and still trying to work them in better. Works out to be about $85.00 per helmet which is Mid-Range on price scale. Researched the HECK out of wireless and bluetooth options and all I can say is "THEY are not there yet for me". I called then inquiring about a 4 to 5 pin cable for Bike. Waiting a call back on that. Fits very well in the leather pocket on the back of my Diamond-R Backrest.
  20. Maybe place this in the Tech Library for easy find in future? TY
  21. Bill doing similar here with 12" HF cutdown... Experiment with tire pressure 20 to 25 lbs. I hate to tell ya you WILL want to remove the second spring so you have just one spring (the big one) I jump up and down on (one Spring) I weight 205 lbs and barley move it. Also not sure if you put some Camper Weather Stripping or Truck Topper Stripping wide rubber with sticky on one side... this will absorb road vibrations and bumps between topper and trailer bed, thus adding to the ABS Life of your topper. 2 cents...
  22. nevermind I answered my own question when I seen this in 1st Gen Section
  23. I too was told this by several folks and several websites. So I never gapped my Iridium's but that is not to say I did not CHECK THE GAP.... They were all SPOT ON so far.
  24. On the way to and from MD-2009 I discovered 2 blind spots. I seen these because I turned my head but had started to make my move... still within my lane. kinda scared me a little, so I was thinking about those convect rounded mirrors would help??? Strolling thru Wally World I seen these in the RV Section. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/venture_Convect_Mirror001.jpg They fit GREAT and look almost stock and can be rotated 360 degrees. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/venture_Convect_Mirror002.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/venture_Convect_Mirror003.jpg $1.88 ya cant go wrong. Drive Safe...
