FYI - gauge pods are back
Bvinson replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
This is a very easy install. The biggest deal is pulling the tank off and installing the sending unit that comes with the kit. From start to finish was about an hour. Fit and finish is great. The only issue is that the handle bars bump it on full lock turn to the left and right. Go to my gallery and take a look. If you want I can send better pic tonight when I get home. -
FYI - gauge pods are back
Bvinson replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I hate to say but that is a good price. When I purchased mine 10 years ago it was almost double that. But I really had to have it:thumbsup2: -
I meant to say that Ponch's will work with the risers. I have the Tripmasters on my bike and know the bars will bump on the pod. It touchs without the risers.
-
They replace the cassett player. So yes they will work with the risers.

The group over at Ventures somehow got the new old stock from Roberts company after he passed. I contacted his son and wife a couple of years ago and was told that the patents for several of his accessories had been sold to a third party. -
2008 Honda Ridgeline Pickup. They call it 4WD but it is really AWD. Great little truck. 18 MPG everyday going to work and 21 HWY. Not that bad considering its pulling on all 4's all the time. 4door with lots of room and a big trunk in the bed the can double as an ice chest. Not much of a bed but big enough for HomeDepot runs ect.. I pulled a trailer with 2 tons of rock no problems,. Rides like a car and won't beat you up during a trip. Overall, I like my little truck,35000 miles so far and all I have done is the normal stuff. Oil,filters ect. They all come with Michlen tires and it looks like they will go 70000+.

I thought everyone heard the ringing... I have had it so long I can not remember not hearing it. Don't recall when it started.. Concerts, 15 years of Oil field crane operating... who knows? I do wish it would just go away.

I had the same thought. I looked it up last night to see when she was on-line the last time. Come On Peggy where are you?

I didn't ask what this "free" dog had cost me so far. Just a guess but I bet it's around $300.00. Seems to be the going price from what I hear. I don't want to steal Annie's Thunder. But here is a pic of the free dog the wife brought home about 3 weeks ago. His name is Henry. He was a traveling man when we picked him up. So, we decided that he is going on vacation with us and will cover about 6 states in the next 2-3 weeks. Anyone want to guess what a free dog cost? How do you manage?
Bvinson replied to FROG MAN's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
The security division of the company I work for gave a 1 hr webex on how to create and manage passwords. The best take-a-way I got from it was a way to create a strong password that was specific to you and yet had no real meaning to anything related to you. What I mean by that is that it had no old address numbers, girlfriends names, ect... You get the idea. I now have like 2 passwords I use for 90% of all my online activities. To create a strong password use a sentence that is easy to remember such as. I have 2 kids their names are Megan & Brad. Then you use the first letter form each of the words. The password would be IH2KTNAM&B. The longer the sentence the more complex and secure the password. Maybe this will help. -
I think they are pulling your leg Charlie. Ernest died in 2000. Jim Varney was his real name.

Stainless brake lines?
Bvinson replied to OldBear's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I bought my Stainless lines from http://www.hardracing.com/brakes/GalferLines.htm. They shipped straight from Galfer $169.00 + shipping. -
My better half stopped and picked up a little dog that was on a major highway 2 weeks ago. My free dog is up to about $300.00 in vet bills so far. I have to admit he is a cute little guy. $300.00 dollars worth of cute? I don't know.

Peggy, Try this link. http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ We use it for campground reviews when traveling in the motorhome. It has all the campgrounds listed by state. You can also download campgrounds into your GPS as POI's from this site http://www.poi-factory.com/ Hope this helps. and have a safe trip. Don't forget the camera... Bill

The bike just died for no reason today
Bvinson replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When I had my 1st Gen. I carried an extra pump with me. I never had to install it but it was in the saddle bag just in case. The pump itself is small and the little room it takes up is worth its space if it breaks in the middle of BFE. Thanks for the reminder, I think I will pick up an extra as a backup. -
Rick, Just a guess, but I bet it was Rex that told everyone about the Crabs....

Driveshaft. Is there a trick to it
Bvinson replied to royalstarjac's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You are refering to the end by the engine? If so, I use a metal fly swatter handle. Rest the U-joint on the handle part of the swatter. Feed it down the tube. It helps support the end of the shaft and helps keep it from droping down past the spines. It is not a quick fix but a hell of a lot better than what you are trying to do. Don't ask how I know.- 16 replies

Check some of the photo fourms. They use them all the time to send high end cameras to different locations. I am member of a couple of different sites and will check. What sizes do you need? -

Rick Butler here on the site has one that has already been taken apart. I don't know if he still has it. That was a couple of years back. Shoot him an e-mail. -
I need a measurement please..
Bvinson replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If I remember correctly there are 2 sets of holes in the trunk. When the dealer put the new warranty trunk on mine (with the plates that are now incluned on all of the 2nd gens) my wife noticed a difference. I checked it out and the had moved it to the first set of holes. It is only about 1/2 inch or so but i guess it is enough to make a difference.- 15 replies

I had the same problem. Mine came off the first ride. I bought some black rubber gasket material at NAPA that was thicker and stronger. I mixed some clear epoxy. That was about 8 years ago and I have not had an issue since.

I know Randy and he takes care of his equipment. I sold my 88 to his riding partner Denny that also lives in Loveland.
