Are you CRAZY? Look at the economics of this. Buy enough beer for V7Goose or take it to a dealer...hmmmm..... Seriously, you would be doing yourself a big favor to take him up on that offer. He knows these bikes inside and out.

Sometimes I HATE my no politics rule. When I read crap here that is just completely untrue from people who have no idea what they are talking about in regards to the healthcare system in the USA. Could it be better? Of course it could. All I will say though...is.... I'm sure glad that I live in the USA. This thread is close to being deleted.

Fuel Gauge acting up on my 2007 Venture
Freebird replied to Midnight's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I know that a lot of folks agree with you and always leave it on reserve but I'm not one of those people. I simply don't pay enough attention and often never see the light come on. There have been several times when my first warning was when the engine started losing power. Then I just reach down and switch it to reserve. Maybe I would notice it soon enough but I like having that extra warning.- 12 replies

Air ride blues
Freebird replied to Bubba's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The battery warning light is simply an indicator that they electrolyte lever is low in the battery. It could be that you actually just need to add some distilled water to the battery cells or it could be a bad connection in the circuit. If it is an original setup, there is a probe that inserts into a hole in the top of the battery that causes the light to come on if the liquid gets low. It could also be that somebody replace the battery with one that does not have a hole for the probe. That is very common as most of us prefer the newer sealed type batteries. If that is the case, here are instructions for bypassing the warning circuit. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489 -
Air ride blues
Freebird replied to Bubba's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yes, that is a very common problem. First of all though, you should know that it is only designed to work with the key in the ACC position. You cannot change the air pressure with the bike running. That being said though, you should still not be getting the E4 error. Here is a write up on that issue. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=493 -
Good post but I found one thing different on my '99. Mine had nut welded on at both mounting locations. All I had to do was move the trunk back and reinsert the bolts. One thing I need to say here though. The Venturers, in the past, have gotten real upset if anybody posts any of their tech articles here. I may well have to remove your post.

Randy, With all the surgeries, radiation, injections and etc. I have had done on my right eye over the past couple of years, I can honestly say that I understand how you feel. I hope and pray that you will regain full vision in the eye. I will also say though, having lost all the vision in my right eye, that though it takes some getting used to it is not the end of the world by any means. You are a strong person and will do fine my friend.

Honda had a coupe of them. One was a 400 I think and the other was a 750. Here is one that I bought and sold a couple of years ago. This was the 750.

Got it. Very interesting. Now I don't know what the truth really is. Apparently they are only selling reconditioned or "left over" models. The latest they show is 2009. They say that production is "idle" waiting on the economic climate to improve. No mention of a lawsuit although I don't guess that is something that they would want to advertise.

Prayers
Freebird replied to peterbooth's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
I moved this thread to the "Prayers" forum but also wanted to say that you will certainly be in my prayers. I can't even pretend to understand how you must feel right now. So sorry to hear this news. -
Dano needs our prayers
Freebird replied to Freebird's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Just another quick update. I asked Rose if there had been any communication yet. Here is the response. No communication yet. I keep talking to him. Only time will tell. They lower the meds then ask him to move his toes or fingers or open his eyes and he does that sometimes. We have got him to slightly open his eyes on request but nothing on his own yet. I just know that he Is very very lucky to be alive. We will work on the rest in time. Thanks for the prayers. -

I received the following this morning from Rose. Though the injuries are bad, it sounds to me like there is reason for optimism. Good morning, Just thought I would update. Had a little rough night with the vent last night but is doing fine now and resting. No need for surgery to the face at this point. Will do surgery to his nose at a later date. He did crack the C2 and C4 just found out last night about the latter one and will be wearing the C collar for at least 3 months and then another collar after that for who knows how long. Too early to tell. I'm going to the Chapel. More updates another day. Please thank everyone for all the prayers and keep them coming. -
No, I'm 99.9% sure that it does not.

Poorly running bike
Freebird replied to icebrrg3rd's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yea, what Kent said but also, how much Seafoam did you use? There have been many reports here about heavy does of Seafoam fouling the plugs on the first gen bikes. I haven't heard that on the second gen and really don't understand why the first gens seem to do it so much. I guess what I'm saying though is that maybe you should try a new set of plugs before going any further. -
This is not a slam against CC if they are going to offer additional shipping methods but I can tell you for a FACT that I will NEVER order anything from any company if I know that they are going to use DHL. Yes, USPS, UPS and FedX all mess up from time to time. Nobody is perfect. I can tell you for a fact though that I have had more bad experiences than good with DHL and will never knowingly use them again. A few years ago, I had read that DHL was pulling out of the USA market and was very glad to hear it. Apparently that was not the case though.

Dano needs our prayers

Got an email from Rose this morning. Nothing new really. She said that the doctors were trying some different things to see what kind of responses they get. I know that she must be exhausted as she is not leaving the hospital and staying by his side 24/7. -
Yea, I could do that but unfortunately, it would still be there when you look out the window.

No, I don't know what might have happened. The chat room is hosted on a different server than the forum. Maybe they were having some technical issues. Let me know if it happens again.

Dano needs our prayers
Freebird replied to Freebird's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
A bit of an update. I just got off the telephone with Rose and have a bit more information now. I thought that it happened this morning but it was actually yesterday morning. Apparently he was on his way to work when he hit the 8 point buck. Not sure how long before he was found. Rose said that a lady found him and that he was not breathing and had no pulse. Luckily she knew CPR and administered it on the spot and got him back. Rose said that Dano had a pretty decent night last night but they have him heavily sedated and she has therefore not been able to talk to him. For those who are new around here. Dano and Rose have been a part of our club for many years and have been very active not only here on the forum but at our rallies and meets. Dan is always there to lend a hand when anybody needs one and is a very good friend to all who have the privilege of knowing him. -

Folks, I hate having to post this type of information but I just received an email from Rosemary Obert that Dan Obert (Dano) was involved in a motorcycle accident this morning. I know very little at this time. The following is the email that I received. Please keep our friend Dano in your thoughts and prayers. Rosemary wrote: Dan has been in a motorcycle accident this morning on his way to work. Eight point buck and motorcycle don't mix. He is at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in neuro critical care unit. All we want is prayers please.
