  1. If you are looking for used, Pinwall or Ebay are likely your best chance. It just seems that a lot of wrecked bikes end up being on the right side and it makes those parts hard to find.
  2. Well, since I had two good eyes until a couple of years ago, I can tell you that the world and people look pretty much the same either way. I still get frustrated with my lack of depth perception up close but after about 10-20 feet, it is not an issue. Yes, I would LOVE to have my full vision back but you do adjust to it and there are worse things in the world. My main concern now is making sure that I protect my one good eye.
  3. A LOT of deleted threads? I only know of two in the recent past and both were related. With winter coming though, there will likely be a few more. People do seem to go stir crazy when they are couped up and then tend to post things that they know don't belong here and wouldn't normally post. In the case of this thread though, it appears that Randy deleted his own message. If it had been done by a moderator, the entire thing would be gone. He likely edited his own post, deleted whatever he said and then added the deleted message.
  4. This is really surprising to me. I have seen cases where they failed on the first gen bikes but I don't think I have ever heard of it happening on the RSV. Having happened twice, I would sure be looking for a reason.
  5. Yes, it has the QII. I've read somewhere that the IBeam is favored but I'm not sure that they still offer it. Both of my Seagulls have the QII electronics though. I used to have a Fender acoustic amp but sold it long ago because I never used it. I just always play them unplugged. I do have a Fender Mustang II that I use for the Taylor Solidbody though. hmmm.......now I'm kind of wanting another acoustic amp too.....
  6. Bikes are not dangerous....PEOPLE are dangerous.
  7. About $300.00 is the easiest way to get it done. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3371&title=-2a-2a-2a-vmax-gearing-for-royal-star-2frs-venture-2f86-93-vrs2a-2a-2a&cat=32
  8. The thing is, all company phones are on the corporate plan. All bills go to the company and they pay them. They won't let the bills come directly to us.
  9. LOL....I actually DID own one of those.
  10. Trader, It's not about the money. They have never said a word about how I use the phone. I am lucky to work for a pretty darn good company. The fact is though, even though they have never complained about any call that I've made, the fact that they do audit the calls bothers me. I just really don't want anybody looking through my call usage. It's not like I have anything to hide but I just feel that it's somewhat an invasion of my privacy.
  11. Well, I'll have to decide over the next few days. I don't have time to wait on the Iphone 5 so I may end up going with the Android primarily for the larger screen and 4G though I seldom use my phone for Internet. In either case, I will likely use it like I do my Blackberry, tether it to my laptop if I'm in an area with no WIFI. I use PDANet for that and it works pretty darn well. For that reason though, 4G would sure be better. I'm actually getting two new phones. I'm tired of using the same phone for company business and for personal use. I've done that for almost 8 years and though it's not that big a deal, along with the company paying the cellular bill they also audit our calls. That means that they periodically go through all my call records to see who I'm calling and when. After not getting into any trouble over it for nearly 8 years, I'm obviously doing nothing wrong but I just like the fact that they can go through my personal calls. Therefore, I will now have to carry two phones. One being the company phone and the other my personal. Kind of a pain but I think it would be better.
  12. Doesn't the IPhone have an internal battery also? Really doesn't bother me. To be honest, I don't think that I've ever had a phone long enough that I've had to replace the battery. Also, even though they say that you have to send them off, I know that the IPods were the same way but there were all kinds of instructions available for those of us who wanted to do it on our own. I know that I replace batteries in a couple of them.
  13. Well, the contract is finally up on my Blackberry and I'm going to be moving on to something else soon. The company made me get the Blackberry and I have hated it since the first day. The buttons are just too small for my club fingers. The company decided about 3 months after making us all get them that maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all. Soooo...I have been looking and trying to decide what to try next. My son loves his IPhone but I am just not a huge fan of it. I haven't spend much time playing with his though...maybe it would grow on me. At any rate, it will either be the Iphone or one of the Androids. Maybe the new Motorola Razr.
  14. Bob, Thank you for posting that. It is an excellent video. You know, I'm really just a small town country boy but unfortunately I find myself visiting a lot of cities due to my work. I'll admit that when it comes to mid to large cities, I'm a "glass is half empty" sort of person. I seem to dwell too much on the negatives and don't really take the time to look for the positives and the truth is, a lot of the cities are just full of interesting things, history, fun things to do....if I would just take some time to look around a bit. You know that I have been to Buffalo many times in the past and have many more visits to make there in the future. I'm going to try and find the time to explore the positives. Eileen and I are really looking forward to the International and I hope to see a lot of old friends there and make a lot of new ones.
  15. Dano, if you see this. I just made reservations in Indianapolis tomorrow. Actually in Plainfield but close enough. I'll give Rose a call sometime tomorrow and setup a time to stop by. It will be great to see you again.
  16. Don, I sure wish that I was closer. Please know though that my heart and prayers will be there.
  17. Well, the sickness continues. There is absolutely no way that I need yet another guitar but sometimes you just run across a deal that you can't ignore. That is what happened to me yesterday when I came upon a great deal on another Seagull. I already had an S6 Cutaway but always wanted an Artist Series. So this afternoon, I picked up a new to me Seagull Artist Cameo. Solid flamed maple sides and back, solid spruce top, ivory tuners and the Artist Series inlays of the Seagull on in the 12 fret and abalone/pearl inlay in the head. It has the same Quantum II electronics as my S5 Seagull but I never plug it in anyway. Now, do I sell the S6 or end up keeping two Seagulls. The S6 is wild cherry back and sides with a cedar top. More of a warm sound. This maple with spruce top is a much brighter sound. I actually like them both but REALLY shouldn't keep them both....but then again.....
  18. Great to see you posting Dano. I was actually going to email Rose over the next day or two. I plan to leave for Indianapolis on Monday morning and want to stop by and visit with you for a bit. I'll be in touch between now and then. I will be there until at least Thursday.
  19. Well, I don have any pictures of my vehicles but for the most part, I drive my very boring company car 95% of the time. It is a Dodge Caravan and it about due to be replace. Mine is a 2007 model with over 100,000 miles on it. The company usually gives me a new one about every 110,000 miles so it's about time but they recently said that they may start trying to run them to about 120,000 - 130,000 miles between replacements so I don't know when the new one will arrive. We have two personal cars which I seldom drive. A 2011 Kia Sorento and a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire. I also recently bought...or "co-bought"...a 2008 NIssan Altima Coupe for my son. It is really his car though as long as he keeps the payments up. If he doesn't, I'll REPO that sucker. We all like white cars here. The Sorento, Crossfire and Altima are all white.
  20. Not without some adapters of some kind. Carbon_one's is the best way to go but in the mean time, you could use some 2 x 4's or some have used hockey pucks as spacers.
  21. Having been part of making such a decision in regards to my own dad, I know that it is a difficult thing to do. The only way I was able to get my mind around it was to understand that I had to do what I thought he would have wanted and to put my own hurts and wants aside. I know that it was the right decision. Please know that you will all be in our prayers. Not just empty words.....but a sincere promise.
  22. I'm just glad to see you post to this thread Tom. I didn't want to ask but when Taters said: "he is very very handsome"...... I was wondering if the two of you were still together. Wasn't sure who she was talking about.
  23. That would be really pretty. A tree covered with silver VentureRider bells. Heck yeah...I think it would only take maybe 500 of them to decorate a good sized tree. Let me know when you want them, I'll need to have some more cast.
  24. Well folks...they are all in the mail. You are in the capable hands of the USPS now. If you don't get in the near future, call Ruffy...he works for the post office.
  25. Way back then...about 20 through 30 years ago...I used to sell knives and swords on the side. Just sort of a hobby. I sold a lot of them though...probably thousands over the years. I had wholesale accounts with all the major brands..Case, Buck, Schrade, Puma, Parker, Gerber and a lot of very fine German brands that only folks into knives would recognize but some of the more common were Fight'n Rooster, Hen and Rooster and a lot of others. It was a fun. Most of the swords that I sold were the Japanese Ninja type swords. Some just decorative but some with real edges. Mike, believe it or not, I only have about 4 left myself. After I quit TU and started traveling so much, I just didn't have the time to mess with it any longer. My own collection was probably close to 1,000 knives at one time but I eventually sold and gave them all away. Same with m gun collection. I bought, sold and traded all the time but I had about 70 guns at one point. I now have 4.
