Are you kidding? I'm older and wiser now. I've learned to never admit NOTHING.

Well, my wonderful wife meant well but it's just not going to work out. I have been wanting a fishing boat for a couple of years. She knew that I had looked at a used Lund a few months ago but it was already sold. She had Dylan find another Lund on Craigslist and decided it was the one for me. She had Dylan print it out and they made sure that it was still available. They wrapped the printed ad and gave it to me with instructions that I was to pick it up today. Now here's the issue. It is a very nice boat and the price is right. BUT...it is a 21' Sport Cabin aluminum boat with a 4.3 I/O engine. It's on a dual axle trailer with electric brakes. Now you all tell me how the heck I'm going to pull that with a 2011 4 cylinder Kia Sorento? So, I'm going to let that one go. All I really wanted was about a 17' deep V fishing boat with a nice 50-90 HP outboard. THAT I could pull. So if any of you know of a nice little used deep V aluminum. Lund, Sylvan, Mirrocraft...something along those lines...let me know.

I'm a fan of Norton also. I've heard others complain about excessive overhead and etc. but I've never had a problem with it. I've been using Norton for more than 20 years and it has always done a great job for me. The first thing I do when I get a new computer is to remove whatever other virus protection they shipped it with and install Norton.

I think they bill Coffee House as acoustic rock but I wouldn't call it rock at all. They play some good stuff though. The Bright is sort of light classic rock. They Highway is similar to Outlaw Country but with some older stuff thrown in the mix and not as much talking from the DJs.

Very nice. Now get out there and start working on that bike.

Yes, I have to admit that it really sounds good. There were NO inputs on the stock stereo to connect a satellite system,, Iphod,, etc. The only option would have been a FM modulator and I truly do not like those things. Also, even though the stock unit was supposed to be a good Infinity system, it left a lot to be desired. This Sony sounds 1000% better and not only does it have Sirius but is also IPod/Iphone compatible. As for stations, we have several that we like but our favorites are probably Coffee House and The Bridge and then The Highway or Outlaw Country. There are several others that we listen to from time to time though.

THAT segment? You didn't sleep through ALL the segments?

Some or you may have remembered that I bought my wife a new toy about 3 months ago. It is a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire. She loves the car but hated the stereo as, like me, she is spoiled by commercial free satellite radio. So yesterday I had a new Sony stereo installed with Sirius satellite radio. She is a very happy camper now. The problem is, the Crossfire is not exactly a winter car so it won't get a lot of use for a few months. I wanted something with a silver face to match the existing dash as close as possible. To get one in silver, I ended up having to go with a marine unit but I think it turned out pretty well and it sounds fantastic.

Karen, everybody else also, thank you much for your input. What I've learned from the little bit of research that I have done is that 20 minutes of sun per day is necessary to keep your Vitamin D level up. There are foods that help but I've read that without the proper amount of sun, there is no way that you get enough Vitamin D through diet alone. For many of us, especially this time of the year, it is just not possible to get it through the sun. So, I will see how this goes. I took the first 50,000 UI tablet on Thursday and will take another tomorrow. I know it will take a few weeks and maybe longer to determine if it helps. I will also find out the full results of my tests when I go back next Tuesday. From all that I've read, I'm also anxious to see how the Testosterone test came out.

Well my experience is much different. I tried various curves and really found no difference in performance. I'll admit that I really didn't do any thorough tests on gas mileage. I ended up leaving mine at the stock curve with the rev limiter set at 7500.

LOL....apparently nobody else Googled it. I think I'll pass but thanks for the invite.

Well the good news is that due to buying it off Ebay, I don't have $750,000,000 tied up in the piece of junk. I bought it for $5.95 and that included shipping so if I end up having to just throw it away, no big deal.

It's a little glitch in the program that causes it to issue a new welcome if somebody changes their email address. I could probably figure it out and correct it but it's just not worth the effort.

That's another thing they checked. Don't know yet what the results were. I have another appointment next Tuesday to go over everything with the doc. They were concerned enough about the vitamin D that they actually called me the day after my tests and told me that they had called in a prescription for me.

Yea, I didn't know why at the time but the doc kept asking me if I was feeling depressed. That is another of the symptoms listed for vitamin D deficiency. I don't think I'm depressed at all but maybe I am a bit and just blame it on being on the road all the time. I also didn't know that cholesterol medications could contribute to the problem. I think it has been about 3 years that they put me on a low dose, 20 mg per day, of Pravastatin for borderline high cholesterol. I guess I'll see how it goes. Thanks as usual for all the great input.

It's all BS. I bought one of those off Ebay 2 years ago. It doesn't work and to this day they still haven't figured out the issue with the reverse flux comogulator.

It is getting VERY close. The only thing saving them at this time is that we have not yet had a real snow here. Very unusual, we have usually had at least 2 or 3 by this time of the year.

OK folks, I know that vitamins are important to us all but.... I haven't felt good for a while now. My wife is always on me to go see the doctor and find out what is wrong but I am pretty stubborn. Basically I just have no energy, severe insomnia, a list of other things. To be honest, I have been feeling really bad for a long time and my wife claims that I have been struggling for about 3 years now. So, she called me when I was away on one of my business trips a couple of weeks ago and told me that she had made me a doctors appointment and that I was expected to keep it. Don't you just hate pushy women. Went to the doc last week and they ran a lot of blood tests and etc. They concluded that my problem is a severe lack of Vitamin D. According to them, it is in the dangerous level. I know that vitamins are important but I don't think I realized that there was a "dangerous" level of a deficiency. I guess a usual daily dosage of vitamin D is around 1000 UI. They actually have me on prescription vitamin D for the next 8 weeds of 100,000 UI per week. I am taking one 50,000 UI prescription only vitamin D twice per week. After that they will check it again and then I will be on a typical over the counter strength. So my question is, have any of you ever had a problem with a severe vitamin D deficiency? Did you get it treated and did you feel much different afterwards? According to my online research over the past couple of days, it can lead to fatigue, insomnia, high blood pressure, Type II diabetes, impaired vision and a long list of other ailments. I have already "googled" it but I have found that "ventureridering" it can often lead to better search results.

Well my personal results with it were not very good. Regardless of how long I shook that can, I could not get it to spray without splattering. Now I need to mention that the can set around here for close to a year before I finally got around to using it so that may have had something to do with it. The instructions are pretty clear in regards to how long to wait before spraying the clear. I don't remember right off hand how long it was but not very long. I know that some others here have used it with better result than what I got. I will say though that the color match was very good.

Radio screen fading
Freebird replied to Brake Pad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I think I have seen that happen twice on my '99. Once was when I was caught in a heavy rainstorm for a few hours. After it all dried out, it didn't happen again. The next time was when I had a battery that was going bad. When it got low on voltage when I was riding, the LCD would fade out like that. -
I did a search on the part number visible in your pictures. It seems that those welders were recalled. Here is a newspaper article that came up. http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1356&dat=19791011&id=jSgxAAAAIBAJ&sjid=tAUEAAAAIBAJ&pg=4617,3122425
