Karen, everybody else also, thank you much for your input. What I've learned from the little bit of research that I have done is that 20 minutes of sun per day is necessary to keep your Vitamin D level up. There are foods that help but I've read that without the proper amount of sun, there is no way that you get enough Vitamin D through diet alone. For many of us, especially this time of the year, it is just not possible to get it through the sun. So, I will see how this goes. I took the first 50,000 UI tablet on Thursday and will take another tomorrow. I know it will take a few weeks and maybe longer to determine if it helps. I will also find out the full results of my tests when I go back next Tuesday. From all that I've read, I'm also anxious to see how the Testosterone test came out.

Well my experience is much different. I tried various curves and really found no difference in performance. I'll admit that I really didn't do any thorough tests on gas mileage. I ended up leaving mine at the stock curve with the rev limiter set at 7500.

LOL....apparently nobody else Googled it. I think I'll pass but thanks for the invite.

Well the good news is that due to buying it off Ebay, I don't have $750,000,000 tied up in the piece of junk. I bought it for $5.95 and that included shipping so if I end up having to just throw it away, no big deal.

It's a little glitch in the program that causes it to issue a new welcome if somebody changes their email address. I could probably figure it out and correct it but it's just not worth the effort.

That's another thing they checked. Don't know yet what the results were. I have another appointment next Tuesday to go over everything with the doc. They were concerned enough about the vitamin D that they actually called me the day after my tests and told me that they had called in a prescription for me.

Yea, I didn't know why at the time but the doc kept asking me if I was feeling depressed. That is another of the symptoms listed for vitamin D deficiency. I don't think I'm depressed at all but maybe I am a bit and just blame it on being on the road all the time. I also didn't know that cholesterol medications could contribute to the problem. I think it has been about 3 years that they put me on a low dose, 20 mg per day, of Pravastatin for borderline high cholesterol. I guess I'll see how it goes. Thanks as usual for all the great input.

It's all BS. I bought one of those off Ebay 2 years ago. It doesn't work and to this day they still haven't figured out the issue with the reverse flux comogulator.

It is getting VERY close. The only thing saving them at this time is that we have not yet had a real snow here. Very unusual, we have usually had at least 2 or 3 by this time of the year.

OK folks, I know that vitamins are important to us all but.... I haven't felt good for a while now. My wife is always on me to go see the doctor and find out what is wrong but I am pretty stubborn. Basically I just have no energy, severe insomnia, a list of other things. To be honest, I have been feeling really bad for a long time and my wife claims that I have been struggling for about 3 years now. So, she called me when I was away on one of my business trips a couple of weeks ago and told me that she had made me a doctors appointment and that I was expected to keep it. Don't you just hate pushy women. Went to the doc last week and they ran a lot of blood tests and etc. They concluded that my problem is a severe lack of Vitamin D. According to them, it is in the dangerous level. I know that vitamins are important but I don't think I realized that there was a "dangerous" level of a deficiency. I guess a usual daily dosage of vitamin D is around 1000 UI. They actually have me on prescription vitamin D for the next 8 weeds of 100,000 UI per week. I am taking one 50,000 UI prescription only vitamin D twice per week. After that they will check it again and then I will be on a typical over the counter strength. So my question is, have any of you ever had a problem with a severe vitamin D deficiency? Did you get it treated and did you feel much different afterwards? According to my online research over the past couple of days, it can lead to fatigue, insomnia, high blood pressure, Type II diabetes, impaired vision and a long list of other ailments. I have already "googled" it but I have found that "ventureridering" it can often lead to better search results.

Well my personal results with it were not very good. Regardless of how long I shook that can, I could not get it to spray without splattering. Now I need to mention that the can set around here for close to a year before I finally got around to using it so that may have had something to do with it. The instructions are pretty clear in regards to how long to wait before spraying the clear. I don't remember right off hand how long it was but not very long. I know that some others here have used it with better result than what I got. I will say though that the color match was very good.

Radio screen fading
Freebird replied to Brake Pad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I think I have seen that happen twice on my '99. Once was when I was caught in a heavy rainstorm for a few hours. After it all dried out, it didn't happen again. The next time was when I had a battery that was going bad. When it got low on voltage when I was riding, the LCD would fade out like that. -
I did a search on the part number visible in your pictures. It seems that those welders were recalled. Here is a newspaper article that came up. http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1356&dat=19791011&id=jSgxAAAAIBAJ&sjid=tAUEAAAAIBAJ&pg=4617,3122425

That is exactly what I was thinking. Some type of tack welder. Sure doesn't look like a stick welder.

Don't waste your time if you don't like trivia...

When growing up in NE Texas, you asked for a Coke. They then asked what kind and you told them Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper or whatever kind you actually wanted. If you ordered tea, you got a tall glass of sweet ice tea. First time I visited California and they asked me what I wanted to drink, I simply said tea. When they brought the cup of hot water with the tea bags, I didn't know what the heck their problem was. Just over the past 2 or 3 years, sweet tea has become fairly common here in the Ohio and surrounding states. McDonald's, Burger King, most places offer sweet tea along with unsweetened. I tell you what...regardless of how many packages of sugar you put in a glass of unsweetened tea, it NEVER tastes the same as REAL sweet tea. -
Your link wasn't working so I edited it for you. Looks like it has the outrigger type wheels on the back. I've seen a couple manufacturers of them...one was callled Landing Gear I think.

Bike occasionally dies on me.... ideas?
Freebird replied to DanOh's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My first guess would have been ignition switch also. Pretty common failure on these bikes. -
I'm a little confused and concerned with your statement that you wired the pump to a wire that is only hot when the switch is on. Did you not wire it to the same wires that fed the original pump? You don't want the pump running all the time that the switch is on.

I bought my '99 new in May of 99. I changed the original oil at around 500 miles. I went with the YamaLube at that time and then at 2000 miles, changed it to Mobil 1 Racing 4T. It has had nothing else in it since that time. I use Mobil 1 in everything I own.

I agree that while it can be a good law, it can also be dangerous because people do seem to panic. I am not 100% sure but I think in Ohio it reads to change lanes or slow down. That makes more sense as there are times when changing lanes is just not possible.

Really sorry to hear about the crash but very thankful that it was not worse than it is. Of course he will be in our prayers.

Rob, That is the email address that he uses for his PayPal account. You just go to paypal.com and login to your account. Click on "send money" and enter that email address and the amount that you want to send. You can still use PayPal ever if you DON'T have a PayPal account. From the same paypal.com home page, click on "send money" and you will see a place to send somebody money using a credit card or debit card. Same process basically.

I would suspect the battery first of all. Don't know how old it is but check the connections and then maybe have the battery itself load tested. Most parts stores or even Walmart will do that for free. If you have a good charger, just put it on the charger for a couple of hours and then try it again. It will probably shift OK once you get it started and then maybe rock it back and forth a couple of times.
