Can't even start to imagine the scene, must be that my mind is toooooo small.

It's not the towing capicity that I would think about, it's the stopping and side sway capacity that would be more of a concern. With that said, 1\2 weight would be max, so about 400 lbs, or 600 for some bikes with their riders after a winter of hybernation.

Intermittent charging?
Marcarl replied to BJB's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Check your battery connections to make sure they are clean and tight. Maybe just recheck your soldering, to make sure it's not come apart and is sporadically touching. Also there is a large connector with 5 wires that include to large red ones, close to the stator connection that may be a bit of a problem.- 14 replies

Safety chains, if installed properly keep the two units together. Consider the implications when you purchase your trailer. If you think it's too dangerous to put chains on a 1 wheeled trailer, then don't buy one. If you think that you don't want a loose trailer following you because the hitch came undone, don't use one. You have the choice, to use it with others in mind, or to be self-centered and not to consider others. The proper and safe way to attach chains, is to use heavy enough hardware to do the job properly, attach the chains back far enough on the tongue, and then when you hook the trailer to the pulling vehicle, you cross the chains and leave only enough length so that the unit will turn without pulling on the chains. This way, if the hitch should come undone, there is a cradle to catch the tongue and get you to a stop in relative safety. If you don't chain up, and your trailer comes undone, and I happen to coming to wards you with my trailer, I'll pull the quick release on my unit, so that I can more easily avoid yours, but I leave no guarantee that you will avoid mine.

If I had only one day left to live, you ask? or one week, or what ever? I would first think it paramount to discover if there was really anything happening after I die. Some say there is, some say it's the end for us, and there are lots more opinions. Once I determined what was in store down the road, if anything, then I would decide what to do with the time I have left here on this earth. I could go on for another couple of days, but the post would get a little long because I don't type that fast. Suffice it to say; plan your future, for today may be the only time you have for that.

I think he's got the new kind where you don't have to lift your leg to get on. That's ok Charlie, looked at that myself the other day, and said: Self, maybe you'll like that better in the future,,,,but nah ,,, not yet.

Question: what caused the wires to be pulled from their perfered location on the ignition switch, and is something now shorting out there? Did the dealer put the wires back to where they should be, or did they get reversed?

By the time it gets to that point, I'll be long gone. If ya'll want to see that thing work, it wouldn't bother me a bit, but then I won't be there to worry over it either. Now if Marca should go before me, I would enjoy seeing that thing used, just for the cuteness of it, but I'm sure she won't bother to say thank you after wards. ok, enough of my thoughts

can't promise 11:30 tomorrow, but I'll look for some attention right now, and then again maybe, if I remember at 11:30 tomorrow.

Really, if we all think about it some, and as I read the posts, we all wish him the best, it's his actions that we think are totally stupid.

Hey Evan, welcome. See you have some issues, somehow I missed all this thread. Where have you got your scoot now? in the Woodstock area? not too far from Brantford I'd say, would like to help you out, sounds like fun and a good time to meet an oldtimer and learn something from days gone by. Let me know if I can be of help. Carl

LOWER tree info needed
Marcarl replied to jasonm.'s topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I wouldn't be using that race though, it's off another bearing. The only way I would use that race is if it came complete with the bearing installed in the original unit. Not that it would present a huge problem, but if it did give even a slight issue, it wouldn't be worth the pain of having to change it out. Now that I have my $0.02 worth in there, I'm broke. -
Maybe just to set things straight,,,, we call it a trunk, Harley calls it a box,,, ever wonder why????

Got to say though, the article was nicely written, good pictures and lots of explaining, made it almost seem right somehow. Now about the right angle issue, I picked that up even before Squeeze spoke,,,now is that smart or what,,, maybe someday I can be a mechanic just like him, just for now I'll remain a butcher,,,,,,uuuhhh MEAT PROCESSOR

LOWER tree info needed
Marcarl replied to jasonm.'s topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Around here there is an 84 and an 85, both are non-magnetic so I guess that means aluminum. -
We're with you bro, keep up the spirit, and we'll do the praying.

Headlight mod & New idea for a horn button.. what’d ya think?
Marcarl replied to dragerman's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
Nice job on the horn buttons and the lights,,, if I had a 2nd gen I would probably want to do something similar,,,,, and I noticed that so for the argument has stayed within the 2nd gen corridor and has not approached the 1st gen arena. There's good reason for that of course,,,,,,,,no need to dicuss this any further and make someone feel bad,,,,, -
Question about brakes
Marcarl replied to a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Now if you want to make a super improvment to your braking,, add stainless steel braided lines to your system. It's day's work, but it makes a super difference. I think Russel makes up the set to fit your scoot.
