NGK iridium plugs did the same for my 86. I never knew when or how much to choke my bike before. It would foul the plugs regularly. Put in the iridiums and now I never have to use the choke to start. MPG is in the 50s at 45-60 mph anything above is in the 40s. Should have bought the iridiums a long time ago.

Is it to late to get in on this order? -
If I'm in a hurry, and skimming for posts that are most relevant to me, I may miss something. Haste makes waste! Slow down, sit in the boat and let the waves come to you.

I need engine advise
mraf replied to rjg1985's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Did you check with throttle wide open? Equal compression is good. Check valves. Sounds about the only thing left to do before the big bucks or tear down. These engines are made so that the valve clearance gets smaller with usage. My bet valve clearance.- 22 replies

Have you checked the valve clearance? Synced the carbs? New plugs? Made sure the exhaust it not leaking? Bad coil? It just seems funny that you have bad compression on only one cylinder and not the rest. Being that the number 2 cylinder should have received the same amount of oil as the others during operation. You might try these guys Speed and Sport Yamaha toll free 866-701-3391. They have a huge parts inventory.- 22 replies

I've mounted all my own tires and if you are not in a rush to mount them the best way to make them mount easily is to open them up for a few days by standing 3 or 4 pop, beer or any beverage can between the beads. So buy a six pack, drink it and put them cans to good use.

Amen to the kleenex. Although I could not afford to buy the Mustang for my son when he returend home from Iraq he bought one himself. He has sold it now and moved on to one of their trucks. It suits him better for his job now as a D.I.being he has to drive his own vehicle to the field. Thanks for the post, but it was emotional to watch.

Finally getting back on here to see the replies. Thanks for the input. After reading everything I've come to the conclusion that they were cheaply made. Hence the rather quick demise. They came with resistors already installed but were not really expensive {cheap}. I'll replace them, no big deal. Another rainy day project. The last LED lights I installed keep beat with any music near or on the bike. Can't turn them on going down the road though. It makes the light look as if it has a short in the wiring. Looks cool though when the music's on sitting.

I was bleeding all the fluids on the 86 during the Monsoon rains that we have been having and noticed that 1 of my LEDs was dim. I had another one and replaced it. On further inspection I have 2 more dim ones and 1 that is completely out. What gives? I was under the impression that the lifespan of LEDs was quite a few hours of operation. Mine might have a total of 30 hours on them. Is anyone else experiencing low lifetime on their LEDs.

Sorry to hear of the eye problems you'll have eyes like when you were 18 when the doc gets done with you though. Now if they could just fix our old bodies back to when we were 18 they would have to lock all us old farts up. As far as your side porch I hope it was 2 twentys waiting for you.

I had that picture on a T-shirt. Had a lot of comments on it. She was a beautiful woman. Michael Jackson dead at 50 whoda thunk. You have to admit he had talent. R.I.P. to them both.

Some people just like collecting. If Jack bought a 2nd gen I'd be willing to bet it wouldn't be long before the collecting would begin again. Just a hunch, nothing more, nothing less.
