If I could. I would what. For me it would be to turn back time and spend more time with my children through their school years. Work was always in the way then. Now I know, to late, work will always be there.

I thought the fight was on too. Good save Squeeze.

When I changed mine the bike definitely ran better overall making the bike seem more nimble. But it didn't change the mileage much until I finally bit the bullet and installed Iridium spark plugs. They along with the new diaphragms now have my bike regularly getting 45-46 MPG at 55. Mine was still very touchy on how to go about starting it in the mornings even with the new diaphragms. The new Iridium plugs have taken the guesswork out of how to start this bike when it is stone cold. Put on choke, hit starter, immediate results with no stumbling or plug fouling. The bike goes to fast idle and runs perfect. With the old standard NGKs plug fouling was a given if you didn't hold your tongue just right.

We have been to both Eastern Grand Canyons these last few weeks. The first visit was in PA at the Leonard Harrison State Park. The second visit was in New Yorks Letchworth State Park. Both something to see in there own right but nothing compared to Arizona's Grand Canyon. After the ride to Letchworths park we took a ride around Lake Keuka one of the Finger Lakes. At the southern end near Hammondsport N.Y. is the Glen Curtiss Museum. He was one of the early pioneers of aviation. Before becoming involved in aviation he built bicycles then motorcycles and was dubbed "The worlds fastest man" in 1907, before being beaten by a man in a airplane later. The motorcycle he rode is on display there. All I can say is 136 M.P.H.. He was a braver man than I'll ever be.This was the only museum that I've ever seen that lets you enter the restoration shop. For all you Cushman lovers out there I added the lineup of Cushmans that were there at the museum. We bought this Venture to tour the country and now can do it {between work}. It now gets 46 MPG and purrs like a kitten.

Sorry the deer was put down. Now we'll have to train another one. They are trained to only scare 2nd gen riders not get in the way. One less deer. Thanx. Stop in.

Do you know anyone with a metal detector? I've found bolts that have fallen off of my hayrake in the windrow of hay before. You would be suprised how easy it is to find lost items if you know the general vinicity that you have lost something in.

I agree. My response was just to let him know another ballpark figure on a 83. On another note how is the re-wiring going? Goldie can't die, it was to pretty with all you had done to her.

There are places to get a lost title. A friend of mine picked up a Yamaha 920 a few years ago without a title. He received another one through the mail from a company I believe in Texas for about $175 bucks. It was legit enough to license it again. I sold my 83 last year for $2500. Nothing was wrong with it though. It sat out front of my house for about 3 hours before it sold. Guess I should have asked more. I paid $1300 for it.

Waiting till 2010 is probably a good idea. By then maybe Yamaha will be out of casette tape players.

Replacing Speakers!
mraf replied to skydoc_17's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I replaced mine with these http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB401/Polk-Audio-db401.html?tp=102. MikeM8560 turned me on to them. I also bought the Boom mats for them they are 100% better than the originals and waterproof. -

Yep, once you let all the smoke out of all those wires their no good anymore. Look at it this way, you bought the bike to have something to do and now you do.

Nice looking bike. The Harley bashing should be taken with a grain of salt, after all this site is named Venturerider. Kind of like the 1st, 2nd gen constant battle. I wondered where you went MechanicJesus. Thought you had risen, now I know you have, on a Harley Davidson. But, being a Japanese biker myself I don't know if owning a Harley is upraising or not. "MechanicJesus", best name on the site.

I knew it. You've been hanging around your cousin too much! Glad your happy about the wing. Now, turn in your card....

Wow, sure glad SilvrT doesn't work as a paparazzi. He had me in tears.:rotfl: If she wants to ride with you again she has to be hooked. A flat tire will pucker anyone. Glad to hear you kept it under control. Charlie brown.

Well at least all the Harley people will wave at you now, being they can't figure out a 2nd gen from a knunklehead at speed.
