  1. YES...!!! Finally I rode my bike which I bought last year in november... She has been sitting in the garage all winter, where we have been getting aquainted while I go out for my smoke breaks... It was about 54 degrees yesterday and that felt just great.. Even got the chance to effortlessly blow away my buddy on his 2006 Suzuki c50(800cc), we were both wondering all winter which bike had more ummph...
  2. Looking at the pics again.... If I had a bike shipped to me and the difference in condition was as depicted in the photos you have shown, I can't imagine starting to tear it apart to repair it right away... I would be taking pictures of the bike in the shape it was delivered in, and post them beside the pics of how it was suppose to look.. By some chance these pics sent by himself may well be of an almost identical bike he is working on...!! Lets face it he must be a fanatic to buy a bike from over seas to begin with.. I would have asked why he did not take pics as soon as he saw the bike in this "terrible" condition.. Why wait till its all in pieces and barely recognizable to take/send pics..???
  3. What a shame, that was a beautiful bike... If it was submerged in salt water you'd think there would be some evidence of that.. Hopefully the new owner can prove this and be reimbursed some money for damages...
  4. Well I am glad to hear this is quite common(unfortunately) however thanks for all the ideas I will be removing the lower fairing this week to have a better look around... the worst of the replies was the rad from dealer....$800.00 .. that is absolutely ridiculous.. thanks again Brian.
  5. Well my 1986 venture has been in the garage on her centre stand most of the winter, start her up once every 2 weeks(approx.) let her warm up to turn on the electric cooling fans sometimes.. However today I was cleaning the garage so she had to move out, and when I put her in first gear and pulled away a small puddle of coolant spilled out from the lower fairing, from the forward motion...Now I checked the overflow tube for the rad and it doesn't seem to drain in that area, hope I am wrong, anyone else have this happen during winter storage...? Garage only hit -10 celcius maybe for 3-5 days, normally at 0 degrees or above...
  6. VERY cool...

  8. I have the Joe Rocket mesh jacket with the zip out liner and I must say it is perfect.. It has soo much mesh(with body armour)that when the temp's hit the 90's it is very refreshing, but I always carry the liner with me just incase of rain or cooling off summer night temps..
  9. :clap2: Sooooo many people these days just plain ol have more money than brains.. :mo money:

  15. No stuffed animal yet,,, but I have seen these feet and hands that you can close the trunk on and they look like you have a body or body parts stuffed in your trunk bike/car...that would get you noticed on the road...and maybe pulled over at the same time...
  16. I agree completely.. but I also feel its too late for this wishy washy country of ours.... We started down this slippery slope and will not be able to stop... I was bothered by the fact that the country caved in when the Sikhs or sihks won the right to wear their turban as part of any police force we have in the country.. Federal, provincial, and local city...Hell I think they even tried to gain the right to go into the Royal Canadian Legions wearing head gear... that is just not done, you enter a Legion, you remove your "hat" as a respect to all those who fought in previous wars to create and maintain this country..(whats left of it) Yes WE are ALL immigrants to Canada(native Indians exempt)... But our forefathers who created this country set laws, standards, and traditions, by which we are/were known for... Our governments (whatever party) have totally lost site, of what Canada was for many years.. Their eyes are blinded by the greed of growing larger by population, which in turn creates higher tax revenues.. The US and Australia have the right ideas of how to preserve their OWN HERITAGE...Conform or leave.... Sorry got carried away there... However on the bright side if this does go through, I am thinking of printing off a few pieces of nice black cloth with white lettering "YAMAHA VENTURE OR VENTURE RIDERS". Those interested could wrap their head in these bandanas...er....turbans and go cruising if they so wished... Is there a photo id card we have to carry stating religious background..???
  17. So far I have learned to use pledge for "waxing, polishing" to save time, I will try that one.. My cruiser used to take me 1-2 hours to wash and dry, about 1-2 hours to wax/buff/polish, then a whopping 4 hours to do the chrome with Mothers metal polish... Wax and chrome done on separate days.. Too much work..!! 8 hours possible for a complete wash and detail..!! Now I will be washing the Venture, and drying it with my LEAF BLOWER....this works amazingly well (total time 30 min). Then I will try the pledge trick for all surfaces, guessing at 30 min's for this.. So my new total time for a complete wash and detail will be 1 hr...Can't wait for spring to try this now...

    I Hate Wax !!

So are you pledge users using it only on the windshield or the the painted body pieces as well..???
  19. Wow... we can't bring CARL'S PEPPERETTES down to the US, and Americans can't bring their guns up to Canada....what is wrong with these two governments...!!!???
