Possible Charging Prob
Brake Pad replied to allwx's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
each battery has a born on date, stamped on a side. I just went through the same thing. I checked all the fuses, found two on the right side cover, to have dark stains but not broken circuit, I replaced them a 15 & a 10, then I found one on the left side of the lowers, a #10 replaced that., checked all the connections, as I was in there. I even pulled the Harley lights off, and rewired the entire back end. I wound up replacing the Battery again. For me it turned out that the New Service Guy, was taking the new battery out of the box, pouring the acid into to it, and elementally, putting it on charge ( wrong answer!!!) a battery should sit for 4 hours, being putting on charge. I had the shop wait a day, before charging. Geez, I'm happy to say no more battery issues. -
Yep, that's how I totaled my Goldwing, Fine for years, no issues, Buy those damn, deer alerts, and not two weeks later, Wamp !!!!, took a doe down the left side of the bike, In Willington NY (Lake Placid) She came over the hill, ran into the street and stopped. Dead in front of me.:mo money::mo money:

I don't ride the major highways, as I like to ride mostly at 60-65. so mostly all of my trips are on secondary roads. 55 to 65. I Only do super slabs, if there is no other way around it. Truck, Car, Bike & Bus, always about 60-65. Just don't want to be part of the rat race.:mo money:

Brenda Yohman Frick, I'll mention that to him. Problem is when it's cold, runs like a beast. However when it warms up he loses power and can't get over 50 in 4th. I'm thinking Fuel filter? or maybe water in the tank? (seafoam)

your bushtec is really in its own category. it was made to pull behind a bike where as my Matrix, is said to be for small cars. this is why Matrix now has a lower profile trailer, for the motorcycle community. Now some of us are the pioneers of pulling trailers. I started in 81 with a cargo freight trailer and a sears topper. 8" wheels with my CB750K. who known that trailer'ing was going to become such a big item. but the idea, truly were focused on the Goldwing Groups. the ultimate Touring set up. Does anyone know when they came out with Speed ratings on tires? The first time I can remember seeing this was on the old U-haul Trailers (45MPH)

Rare-Earth Magnets, about the size of a nickle will do the trick., Ty rap it to the bottom of the frame. I sat at a light on Highway 27 & RT 70 one day for 15 minutes. a cop was sitting on the other intersection. he just sat there. I got off the bike and walk across the street to ask him, If I could go through the light, as if hadn't change. ( I got to the car, He was sleeping) Assw***** !!. I got on my bike and left. They sell them at home depot, but you have to ask for them.

I tow the large Matrix Rover trailer, lid meets the height of the trunks box & is wide as the highway pegs. Since i only do 65-70 with it on. I do feel the wind banging on it, But it sure keeps the bike from blowing around in the wind

I just got my new battery, I've been all over this bike, hoping I could find my draw issue, well I found 3 fuses that were dark. they have been replaced, were taking her out for breakfast this morning to see if she draws again. Bike shop said charging system is fine. ( Have been if'y on going to the rally) Hope this works. The guy at the shop told me that Ventures don't like water???. I think I was the same way when I was little, couldn't get me in the tub, then couldn't get me out

Gee Guy if you have dirt or a sand based, ground, dig it out ( Be happy you don't live in South Florida, ) all our houses are built over coral rock. ( rent a small jack hammer with a shovel head, so you don't have to break your back digging. ( it will make small work of the job )
