Prayers going up for your mother, keep the faith. Earl -
Looks like you had a great ride. I love to ride alot of the roads you rode and 250 miles a day on some of them is a good days ride. I plan to be in Black Mt. next weekend and will be riding some of the same roads. Earl

I have been planning to make the RTTW trip for the last two years, but things have just not worked out. I do have several friends making the ride. They will be working the M25 hydration trailer. Churches across the US have been sponsoring the hydration trailer for RTTW, for several years now. Please know we appreciate all who assist our veterans and in honor of all (Prisoners of War) and MIA (Missing In Action) from all wars. Earl

Back in Oct of 03, I rode from Mena, Arkansas to Turberville, S. Carolina. I left Mena at 10:00 AM in the rain and rode in the rain to just pass Jackson Mississippi. I tried to get a motel room in Birmingham, but there was a big football game in the area and the only rooms I could find were out of my price range. At that point I decided to ride on in. I stopped about every 140 miles for gas, restroom break and a quick snack. I did make one stop at BK for a burger and fries and one stop at Waffle House for coffee, more coffee, and a good just before sunrise breakfast. I have to admit that last hour was tough. I got to Turberville at 7:00 AM, what a ride. I did 1070 miles in some rain and had two traffic delays for about 20 minutes each and it took 21 hours. I took a shower; got about four hours sleep, ate lunch, and rode 230 miles home. If I remember correctly, it was around two weeks before I went for another ride. Earl 86 VR 07 RSV -

I tried to air up my Federal tire with it standing up. The wheel would drop down into the tire (not centered) and it would not seat to the wheel. I laid the wheel and tire on a barrel (horizontal) pushed the lower side of the tire down onto the wheel. This centered the tire on the wheel. I then used a band around the tire to help to get it to bead to the wheel. It only took about 75 PSI to seat the tire to the wheel. Earl

You may try tying pulling the clutch leaver all the way in and tying it to the handle bar. Keep it tied there over night. If there is air in the line it may back up to the M/C. Earl
