Prayer for Johnny.....
kevin-vic-b.c. replied to 1BigDog's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Will be keeping both you and Johnny in our thoughts.... speedy recovery to Johnny and strength for you. -
I do not know that you can transport them yourself to Alaska through Canada.... USPS I think. I know some of my co-workers went hunting in the fall and to fly the riffles to the area they were going they had to have the trigger lock on and in a hard case with TWO locks on the out side and the amo had to be in a separart locked case. Cost him about $100 for the flight for it all. If you get to the boarder and do say yes you have wepons they will give you the option of handing them over and I believe if you are re-turning the same way you can pick them up or you can turn around and mail them home or something. No fine no confiscating or anything. Airports seem to think it is ok to be strip searching 84 yr old women in north america but we feel it wrong a man cannot carry a gun....... go figure.

again it all comes to the when and where. ooooh and

As I understand from friends involved in motorcycle shops is that if Honda does not want to have one of their machines in the same room as a Yamaha or what ever... you add to your building you have a second floor or separate area to display that product.... or... you cannot have any of that product ... is you lose the "dealership" rights. In short if the manufacturer says stand on your head in a corner and you do not.... they take their equipment elsewhere. In this economy can anyone afford to have 2 buildings or showrooms? It is getting harder by the day around here and our economy is as strong as anywhere in North America... not that that is aying much. In a few years.... who knows.... we all hope it is brighter.

OK Rick.... now you need to go back and edit the post and add a warning to potential viewers that this may be a hazard to their health ...... :stickpoke:

I am sorry if I missed it GAWildKat but what brand or type of reader is that you are using... it sounds great. I am not a great reader but if I can get books on one of these things that I can listen to on the bus and stuff it would be great too

I have asked her and she "is not sure". Her biggest worry is how would she share her books back and forth with her sister who is the same way with reading. She thinks they will have to get the same type so they can share them. Where her sister lives they do not have high speed just dial up internet so she would have my wife loading it for her anyway.

Lucky guy! my wife has not listened yet

ok... here is where I show my age .... I know little to nothing about these hi-tec fancy things...... My wife will read anything anywhere and numerous times over. If I had a dollar for every book she has bought in the last 30+ years I would likely be able to retire now. Not complaining... if she had the money I spent on cars and motorcycles... she would have a lot more books. I see these book readers... I think they look great but do not know anything about them or how one get the books loaded on and costs. What is a good one what is a bad one if I was to get her one for Christmas..... Any help................
-
My package of bells showed up today... they are Christmas presents for me my brother and my son so I never opened up the package..... I am sure they are fantastic so I get to see mine in 23 days. So I am as far away as you can get from NY on the continent (except Alaska) so if you do not have yours yet it should be there REAL soon.

I just came home from a coffee ride... 4 riders out anyway... not bad for a cool December night.

Ha.... that is what you get for switching! Camos..... ticket Rick every time he comes to town...

Sum Ting Wong ? I could get in a lot of trouble here with that.... but I think UBC would be a good place to find Sum Ting Wong.

I did not know what to say either... so I shared it over to my facebook then handed the laptop over to my wife to watch as well. Thanks Earl

aaaaaah Rick...... he knows..... I ride a Venture :stickpoke: :stickpoke:

Nope would not surprise me at all how many idiots you meet in a day..... I drive in this city every day also.... the job you do is no ones favorite but if not done everyone of those wonderful drivers would be parking side-ways on the sidewalks on Douglas St. and not understanding why we thought it was wrong. How many SUVs do we see in the motorcycle/micro car parking spots in town now? Keep it up... but don't write me any ticket will ya. :mo money: :mo money:

Please tell me this is not you out there today....... http://twitter.com/#!/BarkingMadSpeed/status/141258363051843584/photo/1 you know everyone loves the parking guys

My son Alex played against Andrew Harris when he was playing here on the Island, does that count for anything? Alex is now out there in Saskatchewan ...... I think they have a football team out there too. Just wondering, he has his own cheering section. Rick we are kind of the same around here... hit and miss on the regular season but come play off time we kick it up... assuming our kids are not playing at the same time. Son Matts' team won Provincial Championship in 2010 so we traveled to all his games on weekends.

:sign funny post: :sign funny post: :sign funny post: If I am not on a motorcycle I try and ride my bicycle...I commute mainly except for the occasional time down (like now) from crashing the sucker. So I own a 2004 GMC Jimmy and wife has 1999 Chev 12 passenger grocery getter. Don, I as you say, co-own, a white dodge dakota, do let me know how that REPO thing works out with you cuz it has not worked out well with me.... MY dodge is 1/2 way across the country now and not likely to return and I think even less likely to be paid for by the son that is driving it. :mo money: :stickpoke:

Nothing wrong with a few extra horses.... my cousin enjoys them with a tank of nitro strapped on to his Harley to add to the fun:

who has ever riden a 1st gen on snow covered roads
kevin-vic-b.c. replied to saddlebum's topic in Watering Hole
Ok so it snowed once here. I was still working for the heating contractor and it was the first time in 40 years their trucks were off the road. As for your white deck and road... well that is what you get for living up north like that. Taking the bus to work yesterday I could see snow everywhere around us on the hills and not a flake with in the Capital area. It was like we lived in a bowl of green. -

I have never ridden in snow, Camos I don't know where you were living but it NEVER snows in Victoria! I do have a friend that has ridden his BMWs across Canada in the winter a few times.. his site: http://www.paulmondor.com/. The "iceman" loves the snow and ice touring. Paul owned a Venture a number of years ago as well and happened to be the sales rep at the dealership I purchased my 86 used from. -

I have heated grips on my Suzuki gs500 and the dealer wired them into the ignition so when the ignition is off they are off also. I assumed that is how they would be wired on installation not right to the battery. I was just not sure if the Ventures had the power out-put to handle the grips... add in a heated vest or two..... just curious is all.
