Yes Brian I put a brand new set of something expensive tires on it before he left Victoria in the fall... the correct snow rated $1,000 types . He has a Block heater I checked that before he left also. He left it plugged in at the Regina Airport for the last week as he ended up at home here last week. I have given Alex a link to this Thread so he can check in on it. Now he has the hassel of getting it tested out there so he can get a set of plates as his BC plates have or are going to expire. We do not have any inspections on passenger cars/ trucks out here, just commercial, so we are going to hope that all goes well. Kids, they told us they would grow up and become easier, now we are glad they don't, it fills a lot of gaps in life.

around our area a 1993 truck with just 210,000 Km on it just broke - in. Ok thank you everyone I will set his mind at ease some knowing that.

My son is out in Sasketewan just north of North Dakota I believe. They are somewhere near minus 40 out there. He says the truck he is driving ( 1993 Dodge Dakota oddly) is making a lot of creaks and growls when moving. I assume the suspention and maybe the tires, from what he has told me. We, and the truck, are used to wonderful west coast weather not freezing cold like they have out there.... that being said it is about 20 degrees F with a foot of snow on the ground here, the coldest we have seen in a decade or so. You guys out there think it is just the grease and joints on the old beast freezing up on her? Was there something I should have been doing to the beast before the kid took her out there? Lighter gear oils? Differant greases? Differental oils? It is a 4X4. I usualy have a good idea when it comes to automotive questions but the cold experiance is new to me. Thoughts? Will it eas up as it warms up? Thanks guys

I am sorry but the service plumber in me has to come out at this point and are you saving money yet? There is always a point at which a person has to call in a pro. We know it working on our bikes, cars, tv, refridgerators, and about any home repairs. I have to say, I have never had to do that on a service call. I may have had to in your case but I have only been working on plumbing for a little over 30 years so I am still kinda new at it. Good luck and enjoy your day tomorrow. :mo money: :mo money:

My Plumbing Leak Fix Plan - Your Thoughts.
kevin-vic-b.c. replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
Who called the inspector anyway? I only do IF it is 100% required. But what do I know besides pay day is Friday.... and you have to pump effluent to get it up hill. Do you guys call an inspector to your homes if you do a repair? Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do in a tight spot. -

I am a "licensed" plumber .... from here I can tell you you have a leak but not much more. It just has to be tracked. My guess is it is behinh the kitchen counter/sink and coming down. From the picture it does not look like who ever installed the pipe knew what the Plumb part of Plumber was about so this could mean that the pipe in not properly fitted up above ASSUMING that all fittings are glued and the angle of the pipe with the clean out they may or maynot connect with the next fitting. Open the wall under the kitchen sink first and see what you see. Or yes I will make a service call for a small fee plus travel time and expences,,,,, :mo money: :mo money: :mo money: :mo money:.... I need new gold plating on my pipe wrenches.

Yes it is very sad to lose someone so young to cancer. I lost my oldest sister to the terrible disease. She was more of a mother to me than a sister. We all hurt every day for that loss. But as with many of us, I am sure, reading stories like this can make us hurt even more than we do already. Is that bad? I am still not sure. What I do live with every day, as well, is my other sister that is a brain injury survivor. She was the passenger in her daughters' car that was struck from behind after sliding off the road. I do everything I can to help with that cause, to help my living sister now while she is still with us. That is the fight I fight... more important than the fight you fight.... No..... but we all have our fights. We all have the loved ones that we will do anything we can for, whether they are still with us or not. Don't ever stop your fight.... keep posting your stories keep fighting your fight. I will stand on everysoap box I can find to speak my words to help those living with and caring for brain injury survivors. I was blessed with a son that felt so strongly about helping brain injury survivors and caregivers he got on his bicycle and peddled it from one side of Canada to the other. He stopped and found a soapbox anyplace he could find a person to listen. Did it help? He brought home a few dollars.... but he met wonderful people right up to government officials that wanted to help too. We all need to keep fighting for what we fight for.... we fight for those that cannot fight for themselves ...... Keep up your good work.

I have a friend that owns the local Ducati dealership. I do not know alot about them other than they are very expensive to purchase and to maintain. I do believe it can be argued they are one of the best sport bikes on the road. I believe that one has to be as good of a rider as the bike is at being a sport bike. If your son has limited experiance I would recommend an advance rider training program go with the new bike. I would hate it if your son made it 4 tours and did not out live the monster. And as Sqidley said...... A well deserved "Thank You" for your son as well

so what do you all think this will do toresale of the second gens out there? I looked at an 09 in the fall and the owner still has the bike and I am hoping to have the funds in the spring for it. Do you think the value of that bike will drop some by spring? Will that $12,000 bike now be worth 10 grand?

Diamond R Saddle bag L E D Light bars
kevin-vic-b.c. replied to guns_usn_20's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Almost any 12V relay will do the job as the draw is so close to nothing with the LED lights. Favorite auto or I prefer marine supply, will have something to fit in place. -
Happy Birthday Rocket. Hope it has been a good one.

Yup, did a motor swap on my wife's' old 1977 Ford 350 Econoline van with the 460 under the hood. First step.. remove front licence plate... remove bumper........ that was not an easy task... then put the new engine in in the EXACT reverse order or it don't work. BUT a headlight should not take more than 10 minutes and a cup of coffee.

Two years ago I sold my 1973 VW bus. It had the original factory made in Germany head lights in it as well as about half of the other lights. My 1989 Honda I had would tell me if it had a dead light on it.... does a new car? My 04 GMC does not. What I want to know is WHY we see cars that are worth upwards of 75,000 plus dollars in this day and age and they have dead lights on them. They can make a freaking spark-plug last 60,000 miles or more why the hell are they installing lights that only last a year or two? I think that the car makers should be required to warrant every light bulb and its' replacement for the same time as the rest of the warranty. Ok now that is off my chest I am going to go warm up the Venture and go out for lunch some place.

I got a real nice VR.org guardian bell ! ! As did my brother... to put on his new 2011 BMW GS1200A and my son to put on the Suzuki 500. My brother opens it up and "rings" it. He says .... hey this one is broken! It does not make any noise! We will book him for hearing testing in the new year! I hope you all had a good and safe holiday. One son flying out tonight for visit with his g/f's family other son flying back to work in Saskatchewan tomorrow morning. A few days of "alone time" with Lori will be the big gift for me.

YES ! The union reps will know the correct answers to the questions. They will not leave him or you wondering what is correct. Talk to the union first then make the informed decision. If he is having health issues he needs to do what ever he needs to do to make sure he has some form of health care plan. I am sure again the union can help.

The worse the economy seams to get the luckier I feel I am... I give more now than I believe I ever had. It maybe because there is less going out with the boys all grown. But I do say it does feel good to give where I can.

Oh Yea... it shows a flashing red light that he said was the battery which also showed up n the display. he said it was a new after market battery but didn't have the "probe" as the original battery had ... Does that make any sense ? Yes that is very likely true. Again the guys will lead you to the "link" that will teach you how to make the light and warning go away. You may have noticed that most of the crew here only have a minor knowledge of these bikes.  Most of them live in the colder part of the continent so spend more months of the year tearing these bikes down and caring for them than they spend riding them. Buy the bike... pay the 12 $ save hundreds in repairs and get your buds to join in the fun as well. Welcome

Rick did all the work laying it out and it looked so good I know I could not do as good of job so thanks.... and a Merry Christmas to all. We have all the out door decorations done but my wife operates a daycare in the house and my oldest sons birthday is Friday so we try to keep the indoor stuff until after the 16th anyway. As I lost my mother earlier this year it has changed the life of all my family. This will be the first year of my life I will not eat Christmas dinner in my mothers home. This year we will be having a Christmas dinner in my home for all of my family members that have no other places to go.... IE: their own children or in-laws kind of thing, so with my children and brothers and and their spouses as well as one girl I really don't know that my son has asked to join us we will enjoy about 12 guests in our home for our first @home Christmas dinner. Love and Joy to all this season........ Kevin

Well, I bought one, well it may be more than a reader but I looked at a few stores.... Sorry Apple but I don't have that kinda cash..... I did not like only being able to deal with Amazon.... and well now she will be able to do her recipes and take and keep her own photos. I bought her a Blackberry Playbook. It is not much bigger than a Kindle or a Nook but is able to do more I think. I keep thinking of the economy and thinking if I do not support the Canadian technology firm who will. I know the units are all made overseas but at least I am doing my part I guess. I am not even sure she will use it but I am going to give it a try for her.... thank you everyone for your input .... I may not of chosen what you have or have suggested but I did the homework and the shopping to compare them. Thank you, it is just
