  1. I've got them on all my vehicles, including the bike and my quad (all of my fun toys (including an '02 YZ85 & '77 IT400) are Yamaha, by the way!), I tried to strike down a handicapped parking sign at Wallyworld one night, totaled the front end on my Durango, they straightened it up right away, at my choice of repair facility (6 mo's ago). Just got my bill in for the next 6 months, IT'S $400 CHEAPER! No drop in coverage, just a great company! Dan:happy65::happy65:
  2. I looked at dropping mine, too, but as soon as I saw those air rings, I decided-----I've had my butt kicked by myself way too many times to try that, so I just put it back together. But I might try that spacer thing. I'm like hipshot, just a little better on the slow side ( of course, 1st genners don't always see speeds that low, unless we're pulling into the garage to park it for the night!) Dan
  3. I want some rhubarb pie, too!!!! My wife won't cook any of the good stuff (rhubarb pie, brats and sauerkraut, etc.), and I dearly miss my grandmas cookin'!:happy65: Dan
  4. Beautifull truck, almost don't have to touch it at all. Great pictures, wish I could have been there with you. It must have been amazing to see those sights on your ride. I've ridden the east coast of Maui over to Hana on a Heritage Softail in 96, but I'd like to see all that riding out there from close up!
  5. We are glad you are home, and recovering well. Hope to see you out on the road someday. Best wishes, Dan
  6. You might send the 2 guys on ebay a message and see if they'll give you a buy-it-now price. I saw them 2 and thought they looked pretty good. Good luck, Dan
  7. Congrats to the new rider and the proud papa! My son turns 15 on the 9th, been riding dirt bikes since he was 7, he can't wait to get out on the asphalt ribbon. He's still got a couple of years to go, though. Dan
  8. I sent mine in last Sunday! Dan
  9. Good luck and hope you get the job! Dan
  10. As an aside- just thought; I'd even entertain letting pegscraper come down with his bike and the Vboost kit on it---- might even make it fun and worth the while!
  11. Hmmmmm- I see a run-off coming up. They have open nights at the worlds best-known drag track-- Indianapolis Raceway Park ( OOPS-O'Reilly raceway park to be correct); for 25 bucks, its run what you brung. I'd be willing to meet a 2nd genner out there sometime and put it to the test....... Dan
  12. Hmmmmmm- 1st genners don't have a problem with the oil drain plug because we are mechanically adept at working on our bikes; 2nd genners usually have it done at the stealers, so they're not sure how it works; I'm surprised that a winger even has an oil drain plug that you can access! :stirthepot::whistling:
  13. What kind of shape are the front exhaust tubes in? Shiny or rusted? Dan
  14. The only whine I hear from 1st genners is the sound of the engine as it winds up over the 100 mph mark in 3rd gear, wanting to go higher and faster. You 2nd genners should try it sometime, it's wonderfull! (Oh sorry, you would have to borrow someones 1st gen to do it!) :cool10: Dan
  15. 1st off, I didn't think the 2nd genners could go that fast. Now I know the whine is caused from the bike itself. It's crying cause it can't go as fast as our 1st gens!!!:stirthepot: Dan (Man, am I gonna pay for it when I get to meet some of you guys!!) (Most definately worth it though!)
  16. Whoops! I just noticed---- theres more 2nd gen repair questions on here lately than 1st gens. WHAT'S UP 2ND GENNERS? DO WE NEED TO HELP YOU NOW?????:stirthepot::whistling:
  17. Yep, thanks to GeorgeS, Squeeze and all the other fine minds out there, we're out riding and enjoying instead of sittin' here typing! Dan :cool10::dancefool:

    I Need To Vent.

Dreyer Yamaha has a blue one like you're looking for, Indy Cycle has a black one, I think Flatoutmotorcycles.com has one down in Greenwood. All in Central Indiana, I'll be glad to go to the stealers if you need me to. Dan
  19. Same goes from us, so sorry to hear that you had not had the time to speak. All too often we say that we will get to it soon, then time has passed and an unfortunate incident like this happens. Our family will grieve with you and his family. Sincerely, Dan
  20. I'll do you one better. For a period of 3 weeks, anytime I rode, regardless off temp, mine leaked out the weep hole (yep, just like a car). Met with the guy from Buckeye Performance in Cincinnati one day while I was down there, he told me it's time to rebuild the pump. Then one day, it quit leaking, no water in oil, went on a 175 mi ride on Sunday and it didn't leak at all!!!! It will be rebuilt this winter when I do 2nd gear, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Just my 2 cents worth, Dan
  21. I thought they were just after his beer!:rotf::rotf: Dan
  22. I run ME-880's on my 84, have noticed the center tread is fine and smooth, front and back, but the outside treads are below the center surface, also some cupping on the outer treads on the front. Just tightened up headstock bearings last week, rode 170 + miles today, same effect still there. Didn't notice any handling problems, but bike wavered 3-5"s across the road at slower than 50 mph. Been happy with these tires so far, twice in the rain, no problems. Will have stealer check condition of tires and give me pointers (sorry, not a stealer, but a parts and gear dealer, very reputable). Good luck in your choice! Dan
  23. [ Also make sure your washer/spacer on your axle is between the wheel and caliper bracket if it is not this will cause the brakes to drag too. Don't ask me how I know that part:whistling: buddy Same here!
