  1. Have you tried Install/Uninstall from the control panel in Windows? Also check Microsoft website for updates, etc. I know if you reinstall IE7 (Internet Explorer 7) it will run a malicious software removal tool. Hopefully you are running XP with service pack 2. Good luck! Dan
  2. Why isn't Squeeze in this picture? Sounds right up his alley! Dan
  3. Who wants to lose that much sleep?!!!!!!!!!
  4. I might not always post, but this site is just like coffee in the morning and saving grace at night. I'm always checkin' in to see whats going on! It's more sane in here than out there! Dan
  5. At least he won't leak air out of his fender !!!!! Dan
  6. Got home from work-65 & cloudy, got my daughter (home from college), jumped on the bike and rode down to my sons basketball game ( the long way, you know). After the game we meandered our way back through the country to the house, couldn't find enuff back roads; ended up going back to school to see if team was back yet. She wasn't ready to quit riding yet, seems she likes my old Venture better than her ex-boyfriends crotch rocket! Something about her b**t not going numb! Only 60+ miles on the ride, but the school is only 20 miles the way the crow flies. Any seat time is better than none! Dan
  7. We will do Oberlin Inn, 2 people, single king (oops, toooo early!), if that helps with the reservation people. Lets get the convoy from St. Louis going, come through Indy and we'll hook-up with you. Wife does great margarita's. Dan
  8. If they're older parts, mid 60's up, and you find that you have some 65-69 Corvair parts in there, I'd definately be interested, have a 65 that's going under the knife soon! (D**n Ralph Nader!) Dan
  9. I vote for the 7th also. Family comes in for the 500 race. Come to think about it, could be an excuse to escape for M day weekend and not have to deal with them! (Wife wouldn't be happy, though!) Interested in hotels in area. Dan

    True Friendship?

Actually, if you look at the ramp, he was pulling a wheelie, and one of the animals got in front of him and he had to stop. However, also notice that the 1st gen is still standing upright, whereas a 2nd gen would have instantly fell over ( not to mention that it wouldn't pull the wheelie anyway!). LOL Dan:whistling::whistling:
  12. The standard stator puts out full voltage at 2000 rpm, so at a stop you will see a drop in the voltage (1000 rpm). Check the 1st gen tech articles for the test article which will guide you through testing your components. All you need is a 10 dollar meter available at any WallyWorld or parts store. I would suspect a bad connection may be your gremlin. Others will be glad to share their opinion! Dan
  13. Thanks, guys. 22 hours to go and it's at 89. I'll wait and see tomorrow night and see where it goes. Dan
  14. Been looking for a backrest for my bike, this one's on ebay, complete back rest with trunk rack (don't need). Anybody got an idea on approximate value? Won't overpay for it, but would like one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110191450448&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123
  15. 84 Red is the quickest!!!!!
  16. Isn't it amazing that Plexus smells like and (almost) spelled like Pledge?????
  17. They are a local used parts dealer here in Indy, if you need someone to "lay their eyes on it", I'll be glad to do that for you. My next door neighbor gets a lot of stuff from them, not to bad to deal with. Dan
  18. Anybody worried about the stray rock coming off the front tire and puncturing the filter? I would probably worry too much about that, and just pay attention to the original assembly. Just my opinion, Dan
  19. The biker...kinda long, but read it all please!!! I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line. But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday. I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk. But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall. I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant. But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief. I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by. But, you didn't see me, driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window. I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children. But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless. I saw you, stare at my long hair. But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love. I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves. But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none. I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos. But, you didn't see me, cry as my children where born and have their name written over and in my heart. I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere. But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family. I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be. But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane. I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car. But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me. I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road. But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn. I saw you, race down the road in the rain. But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date. I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time. But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right. I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in. But, you didn't see me, leave the road. I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass. But, you didn't see me. I wasn't there. I saw you, go home to your family. But, you didn't see me. Because, I died that day you cut me off. I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family. But, you didn't see me. Repost this around in hopes that people will understand the biker community . If you dont repost this, It sucks to be you. I hope you never lose someone that rides.
  20. My son gets to ride with me to school and back when he has football practice, have taken a couple of longer rides with him, but mom gets JEALOUS if I want to take him on a long ride! We've gone to one of his out-of-town baseball games (ever seen a baseball bag strapped across a 1st gen trunk before?!) on the bike. Gotta steal the time when you can, they grow up to quick! But, he's been riding a dirt bike since he was seven. Dan
  21. Who forgot the rule about two dudes on one bike, though?!?!?!?!? Dan just kiddin!
  22. All that are going to the funeral, please let the family know that if we all could attend, we certainly would be there. Unfortunately, circumstances prevent me from coming, and I most definately would get up at whatever time it took to get there from here. Please carry us in your hearts and minds as you participate, and safe trip to all. Dan
