  1. I think trikes are more dangerous then motorcycles. I'd rather have a sidecar then a trike.
  2. I took my driving lights off. I just want the factory turn signal bar and factory turn lights. BugFish gave me a turn signal bar, but the ends are smaller then the signals. I'm thinking there are some rubber pieces that go between the turn signal bar and the turn signals themselves.

Google is my friend. 100,000 miles on an 86, 83,000 on my 99. Y'all need to ride more!!!!
  4. Is the driven gear really plastic? If it is, then it could be worn enough or even cracked and causing the knock. I know the GM 2.5 liter engine used a plastic cam gear and after about 50,000 miles, it knocked so bad you'd think the engine was coming apart.
  5. To be completely honest, I've never worried about tongue weight. Max load is completely up to the rider and their abilities and comfort levels. I've pulled a dune buggy that wouldn't run down the street with someone in the buggy to operate the brakes. It weighed in around 2500lbs. My main concern wouldn't be max capacity, but max braking ability.

    congrats on the 100k mark.
  7. there are 2 places on the trailer to mount the middle crossmember. the direct middle and 10 inches forward.
  8. I've never had one develop a weave before, even up to 120mph.... I would think that you would want to speed up because if you apply the brakes or come off the throttle, the trailer would push the bike, but then again, maybe the force of the bike slowly down would stop the weave. Hellifino.
  9. Hey y'all... BugFish69 was nice enough to give me a turn signal bar for my Venture (didn't even charge me shipping!!!) My turn signals do not fit on this bar. I bought my bike used and it had the driving lights. I've taken those off. Are there adapters that go between the bar and the signals? These are Yamaha turn signals and they appear to be the same as every other Yamaha turn signal built in the last dozen years or so. Any help will be appreciated. Forrest
  10. I do believe that his problem might be shipping. He's located in Iceland me thinks.
  11. I would just fab one up if it was me. The plans are posted on the site. You could probably modify it to work with your bike.
  12. I paid 0% for 0 months. I bought my bike used and paid cash for it. Let someone else take the hit on the resale value.
  13. Click the link in the post above yours and go straight to Kawa's site. The rear end lights up like a Christmas tree.
  14. This probably just sealed the deal that the next Venture will also be a V-twin based on the Stratoliner. http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/detail.aspx?id=379&content=photos
  15. I like the fairing becaues it doesn't look like any other fairing out there. It's distinguishable. This would be a nice ride except for the belt drive. I really like the gloveboxes built into the fairing. Kinda reminds me of the Vetter fairings. Ipod controls, vents in the lowers, nice, nice, nice. Kawasaki may have just built a Venture and RoadGlide killer here.
  16. I'd really like to have someone who has this "whine" to try and install a V-max final drive to raise the RPM's and put the engine in the power range it was designed to work in. 5th gear at 55mph? No wonder folks are hearing funny engine noises, the engine is being lugged. I don't shift into 5th until I'm cruising around 70 or so. If your engine "whines" below 70mph, drop a gear and run in 4th to see if it goes away.
  17. If you can't pay cash for a vehicle, you can't afford it anyways. Even if I did finance vehicles, the dealer supplied financing sucks.
  18. Ill take it.
  19. You might get a slightly better connection at the battery, but any ground will be fine. I would not run more then a 15 amp switch. You should also have a fuse as close to the battery as possible. That way if the wire comes into contact with ground, it'll pop the fuse. You want it as close to the battery as possible so that no wire between the fuse and the battery can ground out and become a heating element.
  20. Did someone say "DarkSide"??? Oh, that DarkSide....Nevermind...
  21. You should NEVER use a wrench to tighten your oil filter. If it's leaking, then either the filter is wrong or the threads are stripped in the filter or on the filter nipple coming out of the engine.
  22. If people are dumb enough to buy those generators at those prices, then so be it. The guy's not hurting anybody. It's not like "oh hey, there's a hurricane at the end of the street!!" People have had time to prepare and if they didn't, then they should pay the price. I don't think we should spend tax dollars to rescue people either. Let em tough it out and make it on their own. I also don't think Federal or State monies should be used to rebuild the places that get flattened. Let them spend their own money to rebuild their houses. About gas prices, you don't like them, open your own station and sell it cheaper, or quit buying gas and find an alternative way to travel. Im tired of hearing about people complaining about 3 or 4 dollar a gallon gas while smoking $5 a pack cigs, drinking $2 bottles of water, sipping $6 cups of coffee.
  23. I use Rotella T 15w40 and a Purolater PureOne PL14610 oil filter. Oil change costs me 16 bucks.
