    That's a tiny filter. It's the same one they use on the 660cc engines in quads. http://www.parkeryamaha.com/browseproducts/Yamaha-Oil-Filter-5DM134400000.HTML Im not sure there is an approved replacement filter. I do believe there are other filters in the automotive market that could work, but it could be detrimental to your warranty. I personally run an automotive filter on my RSV, but I am far out of warranty.

    We burned diesel in our salamanders when I worked at the truckstop. It does stink and it will smoke at startup and shutoff but we had our doors open to let trucks in and out.

    It sounds odd at first, but after you've had one, you'd understand. It's not greasy because there is no batter on the outside. The inside is very juicy. Head the oil to 350 degrees, drop the bird in and cook it for 3.5 minutes/lb. 12lb bird was done in 40 minutes. No heat in the house. The oil instantly sears the skin and innards locking in the juice.

    My bike is speedohealed. Above 70, this bike sucks gas fast. I usually average about 28mpg. I run 80 on the highway and most of my riding is to and from work, almost all highway. My best ever on the Venture was 37 and that was 65mph with a major tailwind. His mileage sounds pretty consistent with flat out open highway riding.

    Bass blockers are an electric "filter" that stop the bass from going to the speaker so the speaker does not distort as bad.

    With nothing behind the speaker to "contain" it, the speaker is mostly just flopping in the breeze.     What are you not liking about them? I have the Polk DB401's and they are a vast improvement over factory. Im not sure you'll get much more sound out of a set of 4x6's. My Pontiac used em up front and they were always kinda puny sounding compared to the 6x9's in the back even after I changed them out with aftermarkets.

    A KLR tire is much softer then a tire for a Venture. I can walk a 14,15 or 16 inch automotive tire on with just my feet, but the tires for the Venture are very stiff. I'd be very impressed if someone can change em on the Venture without irons.

    I know the point is to save the companies, but look at what AIG did each time they stuck their snouts in the trough. Luxury spa in California, Luxury hunting trip to England.

    So how much money do we throw at them while they continue to sink? Should management still get multimillion dollar bonuses while feeding out of the taxpayer's trough? Let em sink, they'll be bought up and the companies reshaped into being profitable again. It'll be rough for a little bit, but it's going to happen sooner or later and the sooner it is, the easier it will be.
