  1. Congrats on the new job! I cannot imagine having to look for a job now at my age either.
  2. Get it fixed if you can. The early first gen seats are probably the most comfortable stock seat ever made for a bike!
  3. Some guys have drove along ways without second. But, I think there is a possiblity of doing more damage eventually. Second gear is the best gear...so it would be worth fixing over the winter. There should also be someone around your area to give you hand if you asked.
  4. We kind of takes things apart....stand or sit around and scratch our heads some....eat some....bs alot....scratch heads some more...you get the idea. Then we let Marilyn fix it right! No worries, most of the bikes have had all their pieces with them when we loaded them onto the truck or trailer!
  5. Wow Mark! We are sure glad that you and your wife are going to be ok. Sand and gravel on curves...nasty!
  6. Yes, normally Sunday is the day of maintenance and yes I will have a carb tune. There will likely be a couple for sure out there. Extra food is not really extra at any venturerider meet! It will get ate...and our thanks to her for the effort...yummm! See you there!
  7. Got it done Tuesday night. Took off the fuel tank to run and hide all the wires. Hooked it up to the chocoltae wire I found....didnt work. Hooked it up to the lighter brown and it works. Now I am waiting for the edsets I ordered so i can test the thing for noise et al. Thanks for the tip.
  8. Nice nice nice!
  9. Safe trip Gene! Dang holidays go so quick!
  10. Looking forward to seeing you in PIP Lowell! Safe riding....dang I just been told I cant do what you do when I retire! I have to wait until Marilyn retires before we really spread our wings!
  11. Yeppers.....stragetically placed 2x4's did the trick for me. The adaptor from Carbon1 is on my list of things I really need but cant afford at this time.
  12. Just reading some other stuff relating to wiring and it appears its the brown wire for switched power.
  13. Thanks Carlos. Now for the hundred dollar question....is it the blue wire...I believe all the yammis are wired the same dating back to 1645 or something!
  14. Anyone have any experience with installing this thing? What would be a good "switchable" point to hook up the power. I should turn on and off with a turn of the key so as not to drain the battery if its left on.
  15. Use a collar and start a new venturerider trend! You could put little sparkly things on it to halp people notice! I hope poochy is big enough to keep you warm in your new house! The woman loves ya...take her out to dinner!
  16. Redo them...this time do all the pins in the thing...both boards. I had to on mine...second time I didnt even bother looking for bad ones...I just did em all. Worked great.
  17. That is nice....good work.
  18. They sure do look like alot of fun! Gotta win the lottery though...can barely afford what we have now!
  19. My guess (and thats all it is) would be it move side to side. Does it wallow alot in the twisties? Mind you wallowing could be alot of other things too. Maybe just put er up on center stand and see if you can move it side ways....hmmmm....maybe that wont work as the drive shaft might prevent you from exerting enough force to compare with riding.
  20. Thats what I did the second time round...all the pins I could find on both levels. I didnt even try and see if there was obvious cracks, I just did em all. Worked great after and is still going strong...I think...sold the ole girl a couple months ago.
  21. Good scouting Scott! Funny how it goes doesnt it. Sometimes never see any for a long time and then bang....almost like theres a rally going on or something.
  22. Dave Dont give up yet. It actually took me two times to get the job right.
  23. I read this in the news yesterday and was wondering if someone from here would be involved somehow. All our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery for the bikers down. Not a good day for sure.
  24. You ok Eddy? Sorry to hear about the wreck...hope its not too bad.
