I need help. i want to put a 20 inch front wheel and new rotors on my 99 rsv , any suggestions or know where to find one made for it?

I have just purchased this aged bike. It has 80K km but appears to be in fine shape. The last owner had it in his underground parking spot for the last 4 years and only rode it 2,000km in that time - so it has had an abundance of downtime. The only obvious issue I can see is the front right fork seal is leaking - do these have to be replaced in pairs (ie. left and right)? Also, any suggestions on what else I should be thinking about to get her ready for the road (should Spring ever arrive - HA!)? I am going to do a complete fluid change - was wondering if I should maybe replace the brake lines (they appear tired) and replace all the rubber parts in the masters and calipers? Open to any and all suggestions from those that know a heck of a lot more than me (that would be just about everyone on this site!). Cheers

When I down shift my cycle backfires at times. The choke is pushed in all the way and for a bike that is nine years old it runs great. Any suggestions on fixing this problem? I had never had any problems until now. Thanks

I been having problems with what I think is sticky floats. Tried the seafoam, didn't work. tried running the heck out of it - didn't work. Replaced the set in carb #3 - that one stopped burbing fuel thru the overflow. NOW the others are burbing fuel. I can't believe all four would/could go bad, but I am open for suggestions. Thanks, Bob

:bang head:I am at the point that i need a new rear tire. After 7000 miles my origial bridgestone is worn out. I need suggestions on a replacement for my 2008 rsv of something other than a bridgestone. I am hoping for something that will be a high mileage tire with good handling capabilites. Does anyone have some suggestions with approximate prices ?

Hey all, I recently came across a good deal on a used heated vest from a friend. I have been looking for a heat-troller from warm&safe. I'd rather not use the belt pouch or semi mounts if at all possible, but I'm not quite sure where to mount it to the bike. I've got an 07' RSTD. Anyone out there have any suggestions on placement? Thanks. Bjmstar82

OK folks, I am looking for help/suggestions here. As most of you know, Darrell Steuer (Maddabber) was the winner of the Bushtec trailer at this years VentureRider International Rally. Most of you also know that Darrell is dealing with some serious health issues at this time and I hope you are all praying for him. Last week, I drove down to Jacksboro, TN to the Bushtec factory and picked up his trailer for him and now have it at my house here in Oberlin, OH. I told Darrell that I would store it for him until he is able to get it and I have absolutely no problem doing that but it would be great if we could get it to him. So, do we have enough members between here and London, Ontario, Canada to pull this off? I also need information on getting it across the border. All the paperwork for the trailer was mailed to Darrell and I'm sure he will send it to us if we need it but what do we need and what is it going to cost to get it across the border? Your suggestions are welcome and needed. Thanks.

Need suggestions, advice, or here's how I did it's on where to mount an aux power socket (cigerette Lighter type plug) on an 07 RSTD. Want to wire up and mount something near the handle bars to charge cell phone, power gps etc. Prefer the economical route (have looked at the nice $100 handlebar mounts, but I want to do something that'll cost a bit less.) Any ideas, suggestions, pics???

Raining today and thought I would change the air filters and sync the carbs. Really no problem, except that I cannot seem to do it at 1000 rpms or 1050. I need it to be at about 2000 or above and it syncs perfectly. It is not that far off at 1000, but is seems this is what the manual calls for. Any ideas or suggestions? Any problems leaving it this way?

i know you all are getting tired of my 09 up dates, but we have been getting alot of pm's from members asking good questions. so rather than answer each one individually, i thought i would just put their questions and my answers out there for all the members. the latest question is what kind of events do we have scheduled. here is what we have so far. lots of planned and mapped out group rides. biker skill games, vendors on site, plenty of food including a catered final meal followed by a party still in the planning, just added today by yours truly, a 4 hour maintenence morning for the guys to talk tech and work on each others bikes with coffee and donuts. the gals that get up that early can come to. it will be from 6am, to 10 am. one day. this is what we have so far. we are still open for suggestions. please register as soon as possible to help us figure on the attendees, and make it easier for cindy to figure on the tshirts, rosebud on the name tags, and i can keep the hub up to date on how many they will have to provide food for. we are way ahead on planning this meet and i want to keep it that way so we can make it picture perfect. thanks to all the members who have made good suggestions, and offered their help in the planning. what a great bunch of members we have. snarley bill :clap2:

hey all you guys 'n gals working in the technology field.... I'm looking for a replacement for our LAN messenging program. We currently use RealPopup which is an enhanced version of WinPop. This program is freeware and unsupported and it's causing me a lot of headaches lately. Frankly, it's a neat program with just the right features for us but with the implementation of recent software, it appears to be clashing and crashing. anyone got any suggestions? We are prepared to pay for software if we have to. I have evaluated a few and the one I found that seemed to be best suited was Softros Instant Messenger. Would be interested in knowing what ya'll might use and/or suggestions. Thanks a bunch

The wife and I can not get away for anytime to ourselves until the last week of October and we only have about 5 days. I need some suggestions as to where we can go. As some of you know, I live in the north central part of Tennessee. We are not sure if the weather will allow us to ride the bike or not (wife is not a cold weather lady). Any help would be appreciated.

AFter a recent tear down of my '86 Royale, I am getting engine noise through the headsets. I can "hear" the spark of the engine. Might my noise filter be toast? I made sure I routed everything the way it was, and the ground good too. Any suggestions? I had a crystal clear intercom/radio/CB until this, and it's pretty frustrating! Any help would be appreciated

I understand that the idle speed should be set to 1000 RPM. Other than not stalling, is there a reason for this? Suggestions on an inexpensive tachometer to but to set this the RPM, been doing it by ear Thanks
