  1. I notice there are several flying fans on this site and thought I'd let you all know that the museum has updated its WEB site. It is now a "walking tour" and pretty realistic. http://www.nmusafvirtualtour.com/full/tour-pkg.html
  2. We were in Gettysburg Pa for the weekend. On sunday evening the wife and i seen a purple and white Venture trike twice on Stienwher ave in Gettysburg. I wonder if it was any one from this site? Chris

    Virago's

Hey guys i just helped a friend buy anV 86 virago 1100, the pretty two toned one with the Gold accents. The bike runs but has been neglected, there is what i understand to be a chronic starter problem and this bike seems to have it. Like it has a broken tooth or teeth. Also the rear cylinder doesn't kick in right away. I was going to look up a Virago site but figured some of us most own this bike which is very popular and considered a 10 best cruiser. On top of that this site is the best anyway. So if you own a virago or have a wife that does and you have worked on it . please give me a shout. I'm also going to need A NEW front wheel because the bike was hit by a car while stored on a barn. Its not terrible but noticeable. The bike is for a friend and i want it right.Carb claning and that stuff i can do but if theres anyone with one of these nbikes athat can help me or knows of someone I'd be very grateful to get in touch with them. Also anypone with spare pARTS , I NEED A REAR TURN SIGNAL. Let me know thanks.PB&J.

  8. Since I started actively watching this site a month or so ago, I can't help but notice.....there are ALOT of ice cream lovers on this site. Up until now, I thought there was something wrong with me....friends often make fun of me for "diving off the road" every time I see a DQ. I've finally found a site with like minded, intelligent, fun loving, motorcycle riding ice cream lovers. I think I'm gonna fit right in!
  9. His name is Tony and he has a nice blue 1st gen MK2. I told him about the site and he will most likely become a member. Also mentioned some of the upcoming M&E's and he sounds interested...
  10. 1984 Venture for sale in New Hamburg. Owned by someone on this site. Custom embroidering on the seats. Look at the backrest, It has the Venturerider logo. http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-touring-1984-Yamaha-Venture-W0QQAdIdZ276536771
  11. Are there any 2008 recalls that anyone is aware of. or where can I find that Info. I really enjoy this site Ya'll are the greatest. Thanks, Melvin
  12. is there a link to the harley site on our site
  13. I searched the site and found this site directed me to this site: http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FilterXRef.html, I spent some time to print out the list so I would have it handy. I went to Napa when they had there 2for1 sale. and bought some for the shelf. I turns out that the above filter list show that the Napa gold was the same as my wife's Subaru. WOW, now I only have to stock 1 for both on the shelf. No the bad news.... The filter fits but will not seat. The threaded plate on the filter is convexed and does not allow the filter gasket to seat causing a great leak. The Walmart filter I took off was concaved and seated. I went back to Napa and mos of their filters are convexed. A word of warning is not to rely on that site for cross referencing oil filter for the 2 gen. Thanks.
  14. My account has been down for at least a week with the following message I get at login, I cant do anything except get this message. Member here has PM'd for my pics of progressive fork rebuild-linked to photobucket, and doesn't work. There are 71 pics I had on photobucket. Still have on PC, dont think I can PM 71 pics, and likely limit on #pics/email. Any suggestions on another photohosting site? Any ideas what problem is with photobucket and if likely be restored or pics lost? Brian Photobucket Site Maintenance http://pic.photobucket.com/logos/PbLogo.350.gif New Maintenance Update Photobucket customers, Let me begin by once again expressing my apologies for the issues you have been experiencing, and for the delay in restoring service. We continue to work diligently to resolve the problems and would like to keep you up-to-date on how things are going. The vast majority of you that were impacted should now or very soon notice that your accounts and images are back up again. However, not every user has been restored to service; we still are working to restore less than 1% (0.25%) of our user base. If your account is still not working, please be assured that we know about it and continue to work toward fully restoring service for all users as quickly as possible. We will continue to provide updates as they occur. We hear your frustration and appreciate all of your feedback. Thank you, Jim Goss VP of Operations
  15. I have not been a member very long and haven't posted at all but I wanted tell all that the information from this site is plain amazing. I have an 07 RSTD and have added a few items that this site has made real easy. I have a little problem that I can't trace down. I get a exaust gas ignition on deceleration every once in a while. The bike starts and runs great but when I let go of the clutch on a down shift it poofs once and that is it. Annoying more than anything. Anybody have a thought? My guess is that the AIS valve is not closing or is a little sticky. Please don't suggest to bypass the AIS as I do care about the environment. I also lost my full time job last August but have been blessed to work contract jobs so I am doing well. My next job will take a year to complete and it is in Texas. Won't be able to take the scoot so I am heading out for one last adventure until I have to go. Agian Thanks to all
  16. Some of you may be having problems accessing the site. I have wasn't able to access it for a while either. I have spoken to our hosting company and it is NOT a problem with our actual site but a routing issue that they are working on. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon. Apparently there is an issue with some routers somewhere along the Colorado border. Here is what I was told: We are experiencing a 20gbit DDoS attack and we are working to resolve the issue. You will be updated in this ticket when more information is known.
  17. member joining this site of yours
  18. I checked and Lowell hasn't been on the site since January 16th. Need someone to update us on how he is. Maybe somebody near by can ride over to check on him. I don't think he's normally off the site this long. Margaret
  19. Anyone else having problems with info being downloaded off the site?? Noticed it this morning a bit and a little this afternoon. I'll go to read a thread and the page mask will appear, and the text takes forever... OK 15-20 secs... to complete. Not having this problem anywhere else. While waiting I even went to my mail reader and downloaded email, came back, and it was still dragging it's heels....
  20. is there directions some where on this site for splitting the lower fairing thanks mike
  21. I thought I would post this up. On May 1st I will be atending a charity ride for the pediatric brain tumor foundation. It got started in my area after one of the local morning radio djs found out he had a brain tumor. After he had surgery and is now in remision he decided to give back and started putting together a ride for this group. Anyways there are several ways to help and in my opinion a worthy cause. If youd like to ride or help you can contact me or the site itself. http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/events/2011/triangle.html let me know and please dont think its for me aas I get nothing out of this except a feeling that Ive helped out in some way. They said it had close to 700 bikes last year . It sounds like a blast to me David
  22. Well, I went and switched to a GL1800, I've had it about 10 days now. Lower seat and center of gravity, a lot easier for me to handle, especially two-up. Maybe more about that later. Now to the subject of this thread. I signed on to a couple of Gold Wing forum sites, looking for hints, advice, places to buy safety chrome, etc. So I started a thread at this one site with the subject box content "Wingstuff.com". I proceeded to ask if anyone used them to buy goodies and what they thought about their prices, service, etc.--- Same kind of stuff we discuss here all the time. HAH! I got several decent responses, then all hell broke loose. It seems as though the reason that there is no membership fee (in other words free) is because the site is owned and paid for by a big aftermarket vendor. Yes, I said owned. They are a full blown "have almost everything" vendor. On the home page their banner shows as a sponsor, not "owner", with some smaller banner sponsors also shown. The smaller ones are not directly competitive with the owner, that is not allowed. They offer different goods and/or services. Now comes the good part. The moderator works for the vendor! So, along with him, several members unloaded on me for daring to mention a competitor on their site. After a lot of bantering, name calling and expressions of ill will, the thread got deleted. Some of the other members expressed some support for the "newbie" and some thought the others were way too harsh, but the end result is you must conform to their rules. My way or go away. Be very pleased and happy to pay your $12 a year and have a site that is "by the membership, for the membership"! This site occasionally has some minor conflicts and the boss has to step in, but believe me, this place is wonderful compared to what I have just experienced. I know that there are some really good guys on that site, but I ain't gonna be there. Congratulations to the members, moderators, and administrators of this site. An enjoyable place to visit. I have totally enjoyed being a member here. I'm done.
  23. Its a real bummer when a customer asks for your info because your website is no where to be found? Huh? WHAT????!!!!! For those of you who know me and my work please hang in there. I'm still in business and my number is 530-905-0505. My web guy is working fast and furious to figure what the heck happened. I picked up a thread of someone needing a tank bib and another who couldn't find the thread about my work. Well the site is http://www.acehighleathers.com believe me it is a real site! Hang in there with me and I'll make another post when I'm up and running again. In the meantime, anyone with a question can email me (nanci@shasta.com) or call me.
  24. Saw this ad on the motorcycle.com site. Why didn't my RSV come with the matching pet carrier???? http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/elmicko2002/Ontario.jpg
  25. I rarely post as I search all the time! Since I've joined, I have had help syncing my carbs, learned where to get a backrest (Utopia) just ordered, Found out about the slight clutch slippage and ordered Skydoc_17's upgrade kit and just had fun. Thanks for being such an easy going site.
