I've been thinking of sprucing up the old blue goose. What's the best color you have seen on a 1st gen. It has'nt got to be a stock color. You no how some colors just don't look right on some bikes. That's what I'm trying to avoid. Post some pics if possible or color codes. Thanks:mytruck1:

Guy says his paperwork and registration say this bike is a 2001. Just ordered samples of the tee's with the new logo's..AND YES THEY WILL BE OFFERED WITH POCKETS..also long sleeve tee's (no pockets), sweatshirts, and..... for the women...beautiful pink fleece zippered jackets...wow..... taters had one made to see if she would like it...it's great ...ok, if you guys like pink ,maybe we can get your size..lol...should be up and going within a week or two...four colors to choose from...when the shirts arrive, I will get pictures posted and prices up to...thanks for bearing with me on this project..I know its taking a little time to get rolling but, it'll be worth the wait...:fnd_(16):.

Is there any interest in another order of the 09 International rally T's? If there are enough interested to offer them at the same price they sold for, for the rally I will place another order........ I have absolutely none left from the rally to sell....but someone was interested in the possibility of getting some more...... so please make a post in this thread if you would like to order some more and how many......they were $12 each plus shipping costs...... I will let this run for a week or so and if we get enough interest i will then take the colors and sizes and payments..... probably offer the same colors as we had for the rally.....black, grey, white, blue,paprika, salmon, green, red, yellow.

has anyone done a connection for a mp3 into the audio system on a 1st gen? I was thinking of going through the cassette deck, but need wire colors and assignments, for the plug that comes out of the back. thanks

Well, in a thread called "Putting Venture carbs on a 96RSTD" the discussion led to talk about what colors were offered for the various years of the Star. I did some searching and found out that there is a big difference between years both in how many colors and what colors were offered. So I was thinking if it would not be cool if we had pictures of every color offered for the stars in a folder on this site sorted out by manuf.year and type. So what do you guys think about this? I have already begun working on this and first of all I am gathering info on colors offered for each year. Alongside we can search for pictures and would be most fun to get them from members only - if possible. So what do you guys think? Should we give this a go? Freebird ! Can we somehow host this on the site? So if you play along and want to add some color just copy my list here below and fill in accordingly and repost. That way the list should little by little be filled in. And make comments on corrections if there are any wrong info. I am not far gone on this but I started with the 1996 to 1997 model and here is what I think was offered. Note that we are talking about the 1996 to 2001 Royal Star. Not the Venture and Royale Venture. The color info on them is listed on this site (This post was edited after Sleeperhawks post here below: 1996 model : New White / Mature Red Bluish White / Blue Metallic Yamaha Black Milky Brown / Yamaha Black Bluish White / Dark Blue Cocktail 1997 model: New White / Mature Red Elegant Brown / Black Shirobai White / Enticer Maroon Milky Brown / Urushi Black 1998 model: Cammellia Green / Ceramic White 1999 model: 2000 model: 2001 model: Black (no other color). So you guys and gals who know anything about the other models chip in and update the list. Little by little the list will grow and finally be completed. Any suggestions on doing this differently of cause welcome. So lets work together !!!!!!!!!!!

I did some computer work for a local business and friend. I saved him so much money he is offering to paint my bike for free using House of Kolor paint, I can do candy or anything in their paint line. Anyone know of what colors look best on a 1st gen? I think it needs to stay a "classy" color and stay away from neon lime green crotch rocket or other sporty colors. anyone know of what colors look really good? does the bike look good with a metallic black or any of the dark colors or should I stick to something brighter?

Ok trying to get my paint colors together. But I have a question. What is better Mica, Metallic, or Pearl? Is Mica and Metallic the same? Will be putting clearcoat over. Is there really a difference? I know they are not plain and I don't want Plain. Dark on Bottom or top? Think I have narrowed my Dark down to two color choices one is Mica other Metallic. Really like both colors.

It's been my understanding that all the '83 1200TDK Royale's came in Gold, and the standard 1200TD's came in Red, plus a Black Midnight. That's what it also says for the colors in the tech section. Well guess what kimosabe?? I just bought a 1983 1200TDK in RED.... The born on date shows 10/83, but the serial number is a low DA000316. From the date I thought it might be possible to have a late '83 model that had received '84 clothing. But the serial number says it's the 216th Royale built? I like to play detective and figure things out by looking at the clues, but this thing has me stumped??? It's definately rare...

I've got the 89 blue two tone RSV and I want to paint the Sears x-cargo box to match or close. Anyone have luck matching the Krylon colors to that year of bike? The colors offered on their website look as if the two most similiar might be: Blue Hyacinth 2333 (darker blue) Satin Twilight 2440 (lighter blue) I'm also looking for the pinstriping between the two colors. Dear Yamaha, It is okay to do a little parts bins raiding to update the Venture. Really! Here's some suggestions. Simply take the item or idea and adapt it to the RSV. Some will bolt on, some may need a few tweaks. (you can borrow my hammer) It should actually be quite simple to do it. In fact, give me a week at your factory with all the parts available and I'll put it together for you. Here's my list. (cut-n-pasted from your site) Take from... The Stratoliner: ~ ...Computer-controlled, {twin-bore}, fuel-injection monitors multiple engine parameters to calculate perfect mixture under all conditions; wide-angle 12-hole fuel injectors provide excellent atomization. ~ Exhaust Ultimate Power valve (EXUP) inside the two-into-one exhaust system boosts torque in the 2500-3000-rpm range. ~ 12-spoke wheels evoke a thick spoke look, but carry modern tubeless radial tires; a 130/70-18 front and a fat 190/60-17 rear. ~ Position beams within the main headlight housing provide great visibility. ~ Left-thumb operated high-beam switch, and right-thumb activated accessory driving light switch for great visibility. ~ Bright multi-reflector headlight, LED taillight and amber turn signals behind clear lenses give a custom look. ~ Oxygen sensor and three-way catalyst reduce emissions. ~ Sidebags detach easily for cleaning. Most don't really care about new colors. We'd like some new technology from your flagship. Also...it still has a cassette player?!? Now, you've got all these parts. Most could be easily adapted (i.e. head & tail lights!) Thanks for your time. Keep just changing colors on the RSV and you'll not get anymore of mine, though...or my money.

I have a two tone red 2000 Royal Star. According to the web site the colors are Imperial Red and Salsa Red. Does anyone know the paint codes for these paints. I have recently purchased a tow behind trailer and I want to color match it to the bike.

I'm installing a Sirius radio and want to wire directly into the ignition switch so power goes on and off with switch. Theres 4 colors and I don't have a tester handy. Anybody know? It's a 2005 RSTD. Thanks. Mike
