  1. Will Rick has come and gone. As always got to meet two wonderful people. Big blue is headed for Canada as I type. We went to dinner and off they went. So here I set no bike a lot of room in the garage what to do, Let me think. I might just have to visit the dealer tomorrow I think I hear a road * calling me.
  2. Our son rides a 2002 YZF R6. Blue in color. For Christmas he would like a part for his bike that sounds like it's a cover for the riders seat made out of fiberglass. He thought ebay would have them. I tried looking up YZF accessories, but am confused. I don't know if it would be called a cowling or exactly what I'm looking for on ebay. He said it doesn't have to be blue, because he's a graphic designer and can "wrap" it to match the color of his bike. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?
  3. Not a big deal to some maybe, but I just got tired of looking at my mug standing on top of Grandfather Mtn...Decided a change was needed....Found this in my pixs folder...German Shepherd in a sidecar on the Blue Ridge Pkwy one afternoon I was riding... Just too cool not to use as a Avatar... George In Virginia
  4. These are pics from my trip through Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parway Labor day week I drove from Mass to Ft Pierce Fla that week and the weather was awsome. I camped out every day.
  5. Does anyone have experience with blue tooth communicating?
  6. The Lackland AFB Services will have a ride on the 8th of November. It will go from San Antonio to the Motorcycle Museum and return. See attached flyer. By the way, that is my RSV (blue) in the foreground of the photo. Hope you can make it. http://lacklandservices.com/assets/loac/images/VDay-Ride.jpg
  7. Saw a blue Venture 1st Gen MkII South bound on Arlington Hts rd near Thomas street in Arlington Hts ,Illinois yesterday about 9:30 am anyone of us? Guy was wearing white helmet.
  8. Anybody ever delt with this place http://www.prestigecamera.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=3645363&l=LOWPRICEDIGITAL ? They have the Zuma 550 for $479. That is almost too good to be true. After the week long ride on the Blue Ridge, the wife wants something that will help locate hotels and shopping areas. God Bless her.
  9. Hey guys sorry I havent been here in a while summer has been very busy. Anyway I have started working for a company that does CNC routing and laser etching along with vinyl cutter for vehicle graphics and signs. We stated doing some wind deflectors (since I needed a new pair as one was cracked) and the owner has a Gold Wing. They are 3/16ths acrylic which is nice since they are a little heavier than the stock ones. I included some pics of the orange set I put on mine and also a few different colors red, blue, yellow and also we have black, dark red, light blue along with clear (which you can have back painted to match your bike exactly). They are 6 by 7 and 3/4 which is the size of my originals and bent exactly like the original set. The holes are not drilled so you can drill them to fit your own hardware. They will be $25 a pair plus shipping. I am putting this in the classifieds as well but I wanted you guys to check them out cause I thought everyone would get a chance to see them here. We can also customize them like I did with mine for an addidtional fee. But check them out and let me know what you think. Paul
  10. Hey Everyone! As our riding season will soon begin to experience a chilly slow-down here in Utah, a few of us (couples mostly) are trying to plan one more overnight ride before the snow begins to fly in these parts. Last year around mid-October, we road up to Yellowstone Natl. Park. While that was a fun time, it got pretty cold and wet. Afterall, that's what happens in the Rocky Mountain's in October. We probably want to go sometime around the end of this October. This year, we thought that we would take a day or two and ride South down to Las Vegas and catch a performance of the Blue Man Group. I have already seen them on TV and on-line, and have heard that their live shows are awesome. So, that should fun. This is what we're looking for - the best deals there in Vegas that I can find. Either a package deal with a room at the Venitian along with the show, or perhaps an inexpensive hotel and some discounted show tickets from someplace. The hotel doesn't need to be anything more than a place to sleep. But, we do want someplace which is clean, comfortable and which is an unquestionably safe to park our bikes (and our bodies) at night. Can anyone offer us some suggestions? Thanks for the help! Be Safe! Pete & Sandy
  11. One of the stops that I make almost evey day for FedEx is at Siemens on Technology Drive in Alpharetta, Ga. I always check out the MC Parking just to see whats there and the other day there was a Blue early 1st gen parked there. I stopped and left a VR.o card. I didn't have one of my cards but I did have one of Sleeperhawk's, so I added my name and left that one. Hopefully they will, or have, join(ed)! If you see this post, let me know who you are and maybe we can get together for a ride someday!
  12. Well, I guess I've got it bad. I've bought a second '84 Venture. I now own 2, the blue one and a red one. I pick up the new red bike next Saturday. It has some issues but seems mostly in good order. Body work, rear brakes, the usual kind of old Venture stuff, but only 21,000 Kilometers! Lots of tinkering postential. A bike to ride and a bike to tinker with, what could be better? Old blue ran well all the way over and back, about 110 km's total. I was afraid she'd sulk but nope, she seemed good with it. The sun came out on the way home which hopefully is a good omen too. I'll keep you posted. Brian H. Uxbridge Ont
  13. Helo all, I'm getting ready to order a new widshield for my 89VR powder blue and I'm thinking I'm going to go with Cee Bailey's. My question is does anyone here have a pic of blue gen 1 with the blue tinting that cee bailey's offers. I tried some searching but to no avail but before I make such a bold artistic move:scratchchin: I thought I'd check to see if anyone here may have done such a thing already. thanks all.
  14. I was on a mission at lunch and didnt have time to see were they were going but seen a very nice blue RSV going down Hague rd when I sent to lunch today on a trailer, anyone here taking theres by trailer in the area??
  15. My '87 Venture, which only has 12,000 miles, is starting to blow blue smoke when i've been sitting in traffic and temp gauge goes up. Any other time it's fine. Only when it gets hot does this happen. Any help??
  16. Called 2 Yama shops locally today but got no answer to my question. Actually, I was told parts dept was too busy and to call back. I am wanting to get the Wagner grill from Diamond R, but it only comes in black. I have no problem painting it to match my blue, but I am trying to find out if I can get some paint thru Yama or will I have to go to a paint shop and have it mixed? Anyone know? Thanks
  17. I am gonna be going to asheville nc. area for a few days and would like to know of any special places that I should see when my wife and I are there on the RSV. We plan on seeing lake lure and chimney rock and also jumpin on the blue ridge prkwy.for a ride.Speaking of the blue ridge,I understand that some of it is closed for construction. Does anyone know where that is? And how do u get on it? I read somewhere that there is no entrance or exit ramps to or from any interstate hwy. We can go north or south on it,,makes no difference. Any other points of interest that yall think we should see? Fun things? pretty things? unique things? nice places to eat? we aren't makin any plans and are just gonna stop wherever and whenever we want. Thx for any input.
  18. Hi Folks. Zooby and I are headed down to do the Dragons Tail and the Blue Ridge at the end of the month. We are planning a quick run down to Ashville, and then riding the Blue Ridge back. If anyone has any recommendations such as where to camp, what to see and what to avoid, we would very much appreciate the help. Thanks

  21. On Sat 6/21 the AMA flat trackers will be at Mountain Raceway in Maryville TN.! This just happens to be a stones throw from the Tail of the Dragon! This looks to be a pretty big event. I am planning on riding up Sat afternoon, doing a lap at the Dragon, getting something to eat at Deals gap and heading over to the races. This is all "weather permitting" of course since they won't be racing if it rains. I will be leaving the Blue Ridge area around 3 pm. The races start at 7. That should give us time to run the Dragon and grab some grub before the races. Anyone interested? Here's a link to the event.-Jack http://www.mountainraceway.net/AMA_info.html
  22. Going to work at hospital last night and made wrong turn. Cut thru a alley and there sitting on a back porch was a 1st gen. House looks empty so I took a closer look. It is a 83-85 The side covers are gone and the bags are gone. Tags are 96. Tank is full of rust the worst I have ever seen. It is a light blue (Orion Silver?) and a dark blue. Darker than my 84 was. Covered porch so there might be some parts there. Only 22k on it. Good Engine? If not stuck. Plastic may be stored inside??? Got to go back and find somebody.
  23. Saw a black early 80's venture parked in front of a house on my way through the little town of Howard, NY around 2pm on the 6/11/08. Also saw a two tone blue later 80's model on rt 36 in Hornell, NY a week or so ago, forgot to ask about that one until now.
  24. Letting off some steam here...sorry. What good is having a blue book value for trade in if a dealer won't use it? Instead they use some auction thingy. Kelly blue book rates my 07 Chevy Equinox for $16,000, I went to try to trade for a 08 Wrangler and at first they only offered 11,000. I told them no, KBB say's its worth 16 and they left for another 15 minutes. Came back and said the very most they could give me was 12,000. They showed me what they use, a sheet showing what they can buy my car at a dealer auction for. They said 11 was high and he went above his boss and offered the 12. This is total bull. I am a cash paying customer, no financing, I was there most of the day on Sat. and there from 1:30 to 4:00 today and these JERKS have the nerve to try and sell me this Jeep for sticker price and offer me below Blue book trade in value on my one year old car. Sorry for ranting but I am just soooo peeved at the situation.
  25. I have an 87 1st gen. I am trying to wire my bike for a trailer which is a 4 wire trailer. By the battery is my fuse box with brown, blue, red/white > wires. then there is another bundle of wiring that is all grouped > together very tightly. In this group there is white, yellow, pink, blue, brown with a > red line and a couple double colored wires. They are sort of tight > together. Are these the wires I need to splice into for this?--I am trying to wire in a modulite power module. Is there an easier place to splice into near the battery area where there is more room? Thanks for any and all help
