What are these plugs called? The one the arrows are pointing to. Both of mine are cracked and I need to replace them. Can't find the number on them so I can order some. The plug on the right. Just wondering if these mufflers would work on my venture. There from a '80's Yamaha. These are for sale in my city for $45. -
I am thinking about picking up a 86 venture. This would be my 6th bike. I am looking for something comfortable for my commute on the highway and mild touring on the weekends with my wife. I came across a venture on line at a local shop. I was going to take a look this week, but first I wanted to know if there was anything I should watch out for. I've owned 80's hondas but the venture is new to me. I found freebird's"A list of known problems on the First Gen Venture". Any other advice or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks. -
Well kind of. It is new to me and not so new to the previous owner. It is a 1967 Yamaha 180 cc. I was at my wife's cousin and he had to go out in the country to pick-up a tractor, so I went along. Well we were standing there shooting the breeze and I noticed a MC in the garage. So I asked about it and the guy says they were going to move it to the shed and kind of forget about it. So I am in there looking at it and it rolled back and forth so I wheeled it out into the sun light which it hasn't seen in years. It had been dropped while they were riding it in the yard and bent the handle bars and busted a light other than that it was all there except a side cover and the chain which they located a little latter. Well after all the dickering and hemming and hawing I ended up buying the bike. I think I may have been taken though the guy I was negotiating with, well it wasn't his first rodeo that is for sure. He was in his 80's and had been around. Well I opened my wallet and negotiated that last little bit I could befor I paid him. I hope I didn't over pay to much. Is $22.00 to much?? :crying: CASH TOO! My brother-in-law thinks I overpaid and got snookered and he is always right, just ask him. Dang I hate that when that happens. Oh well something to fool with this winter.

Mt daughter and I are going to tour Da UP next week. The only destination that is set in stone is KI Sawyer AFB. I was stationed there for 6.5 years in the late 80's and I would like to see how much has changed since it was shut down in 1995. Kevin

I live just east of Raleigh, NC; bunches of bikes are going east on 264 Hwy today. What is going on? It's going to be in the 80's and I need to ride.

Saw a black early 80's venture parked in front of a house on my way through the little town of Howard, NY around 2pm on the 6/11/08. Also saw a two tone blue later 80's model on rt 36 in Hornell, NY a week or so ago, forgot to ask about that one until now.

I know a lot of you guys and gals State-side are suffering through some potent cold snaps. Without rubbing it in at all, I thought I'd just let you know that tomorrow my pillion-in-a-million and I are doing a 600kms round trip (overnighter) to visit my parents. They're both in their 80s and have no idea we are coming. Going to spring a surprise on them. And the weather forecast for the next few days? Overnight minima of 14degC and daytime maxima of 28degC (82degF). Couldn't ask for more than that. See you when we get back. :)
