I'm goitn to rewire the auxiliary lighting on the back of my bike. Currently I have an extra tail/brake light and trailer lighting which is run through an isolation relay set. All of the taps were made using the scotch-lok type connectors (I know they are junk) and it really looks like a mess under the seat. Some of the connections were made by the installer that wired up my trailer lights and some by me. I want to solder all of the taps to the bike's lighting circuits and then run a line to a power strip where I connect the auxillary lighting. What is the best type of power strip to use? So far the only thing I've found looks like the attached photo. Is there something better? Photos of you installation would be helpful. This looks like it may be a cold Saturday job. Thanks, Dennis

I wondering if it's worth trying to repair my left hand dashboard piece (piece that radio sits in) or if anyone has one in good shape here. I didn't see any listed. I was wondering if I could back it with some type of aluminum and glue the pies together. But then I would have to add on some type of screw down plates too cause they have cracked off (seems typical place for these to crack over time). I don't know how hard it is to find good plastic anymore. Didn't see any on ebay either. Wood

I believe the wedge bulbs that are in the Venture Line trunk and bag light bars, 1st Edition anyway, are 194's. Has anyone found a good source for buying these bulbs. The only outlet I can find is superbrightleds.com and each bulb from them is 1.98. I need only 24 of these things and really don't think they are worth $2 each. Any other recommended sources? Thanks MG Type of wedge bulb above corrected from 198 to 194.

If anyone is planning a motorcycle trip to a part of Canada you havnt been before, maybe check out www.Vridetv.com . They have ridden a VRod across Canada and taken pretty high quality video from just about everywhere in Canada. They have found some great spots and even caught some wildlife like bears and Rocky Mountain sheep in their travels. They are mostly short videos, but they will give you a great idea about the roads and the type of the terrain and amenities around. Ill start you off with the Alberta Badlands and Dinosaur Provincial Park, just because its not too far from here. http://www.vridetv.com/sddinosaurprovpk.html Brian:smile5:

Alright darn it....! I read it in the owners manual too so I know this site is right on but c'mon... really? Oil type/grade If temperature does not go below 40 F (5 C) Yamalube 4-cycle oil/SAE 20W40 type SE If temperature does not go above 60 F(15C) SAE 10W30 type SE I live in c o l o r a d o .... it is often above 60F and often below 40F (especially in the hills) So what now? 10W-40? Stupid question I know but in all my years of working for Toyota and Honda (cars) I've never seen anything like that. Hmmmpph.... LOL Many thanks to Dano for the help earlier... pics to come Dano, I promise. That way you can run this FNG through the ringer too.... LOL Kelly

Howdy all, I am hoping someone know what to call the lower scoop looking thing under my radiator. I had one of the light fall off. The plastic retaingin ring broke off and the remaining light is going as well. I think this is an after market item. I don't know if the epoxy type adhesive would hold it back on or if I should go ahead and replace the lights. Maybe I will just take the thing off. Does it help direct air to the radiator? Thanks for the help Dave

So after a few years of riding with a nice bag that slides over a backrest, I now need something to fit nicely on the rack of the tourpak. I think something similar to a longer narrow type of duffel would work. Anyone got any good suggestions for a bag that is or can be made water proof?

Carburetor fuel leak. I have an intermittent or random fuel leak (R/S) from carburetor, #3 or #4 air vent hose on a 2006 Yamaha RSTD. Sometimes I can ride for 50 miles before it leaks and other time less than 7 miles. I have tried a can of Sea Foam without success. At idle there has never been a fuel leak problem… only occurs at road speed. The Yamaha owner’s manual indicates the carbs are Mikuni type BDSR32 X4. I have been unable to locate any information on these units on the Internet. What do these numbers mean and how do I find out the type of carburetors I have on this motorcycle. Any suggestions to solve this “nagging” fuel leak problem without removing the carburetors (a last resort) would be appreciated. Thanks – 2 Flights

I have searched on here and could not find information on the bulb type and location for the overdrive light. Mine has gone out and I assume I must split the fairing but don't want to split it and then run all over town looking for a bulb. Can anyone tell me what bulb type is used for the dash lights. Thanks, Jim
