1. You can tell by Eck's post that there is absolutely no bias involved.
2. Congratulations! Do like I do - spoil him and give him back to his parents.
3. Oh that's cold. See, I told ya you shouldn't mess with the Chief. Ya done it now, Owen.
4. Congratulations on the new ride. We wish you many happy miles with it. And thanks again for all your efforts in our get-together in Athens. The wife and I still talk about it. You did an excellent job. We look forward to another chance to visit.
5. Seems feasible that with all the muscle, and all the 'talent' that prisons have that they could be, for the most part, self-sufficient. Inmates could earn their living, and greatly reduce the burden on taxpayers.
6. Enjoyed the visit, although much to brief. Great to see things working out for Brad and Lonna. And like I said earlier, it is a good thing Lonna likes surprises - they had guests show up from Canada! (Surprised us all). Still wondering if BoomerCPO will be able to ride in the dark now. Waiting on a report. I am also wondering how long the recovery phase will take to get things back to 'normal' at the Squidley residence.
7. Oh......that's good to hear.
8. Good to see the mystery solved, a happy ending, and you're back on your way. Travel safe.
9. I'd kinda like it to be a surprise. You will never know who to expect, or when. Give life a little mystery. Live adventurously. That's what having an "open house" is all about.
10. No, those aren't the "love bugs" that plague us. These are smaller, about .5 inches or less, and mostly black. We call them love bugs because they are usually flying 'together', so you get twice the bug action when they make contact with your vehicle. And because they fly 'together', their flying skills are greatly diminished and they are unable to avoid contact with anything else that's moving. As stated, they will eat the paint off your car, and when dry turn into epoxy. I think their only known enemy are moving vehicles. I understand they are a gift from Florida.
11. Not to mention taking the time to write the results of several tests/experiments he has conducted to help improve the ride and reliability of our bikes. For example, all the effort spent to see the handling benefits of the level links, smaller front tire, and combination of both. There was a lot of work and trial and error energy expended there. Goose put forth the effort, and shared the results with us. All without asking. That says a lot. Thanks, Bro. Vance
12. The Wolo and the compact nautilus from Stebel look like twins. Do they come from the same manufacturer?
13. I talked to a dealer and he quit selling the bi-xenon bulbs because of numerous failures. He said the solenoid would fail, and that would cause the bulb to fail. After having to replace about 100 of them, he finally quit selling them and now just sells the single purpose (low or high beam) bulbs. Anyone else hear of this or had that experience?
14. Keith, that looks good. I like the way you did that.
15. My 2004 is painted.
16. If you get a window seat, you'll be able to look down at all the highways you could have been riding on.
17. That was a great game. Not a lot of penalties, plenty of action.
18. Boomer - welcome back to crawfish country. Don't see how you stayed up north so long. What are you near in La, Sulphur, Baton Rouge,..? If you're close enough, you'll have to hook up with the Houston group for a meet-n-eat some day.
19. After using several different wireless routers, I got an Apple Airport Extreme. Like Don said, very easy to set up, and it works solid. It does not have all the internet accessable selections available with many routers, but the selections for setting up the router are straight forward, and done on your computer (vice through the internet). Besides having wireless throughout the house for our computers, I also stream movies from Netflix via a wireless connection to my Blu-Ray DVD player. Nice. You might want to consider that too, Don.
20. Thanks for the analogy, but I'm not sure it's a good comparison. A dryer just tumbles clothes. The washer is a better comparison, but it just senses out of balance. If so, it slows to tumble the clothes and get them re-oriented. It will do this until the level of unbalance is acceptable, then go to spin. But it does not balance the load. In other words, as the washer spins up, the clothes do not align themselves inside to achieve balance. At best, the unbalance will settle out a little as water is wrung out of the clothes and they become lighter. I'm a little uncertain how these beads can align themselves to the lite side of an unbalanced tire. Perhaps Condor is right, Mirrors and Mojo.
21. How do the beads add weight to the lite side of the tire? Seems like the centrifugal force would cause the beads to be flung outward, with the heaviest part of the tire attracting more beads. This would be counter-productive. At best I could see the beads getting evenly distributed, but that won't help balance the tire either.
22. He wants to make sure no one steals it. Notice the large lock by the front fork.
23. Here's hoping for success on Wednesday. And, Welcome Back!
24. Although seldom seen, here is a picture of the USS Robert E Lee, SSBN 601. I served aboard from 1971-1976. Now decommissioned, she served as part of America's nuclear deterrent during the cold war. No fanfare, no news stories, no glory - just an ever present reason to keep peace, and avoid the cost of war. We did our job, without anyone even noticing.
25. Sorry Daryl, I'm not interested in trading.
