  1. Thanks for continuing on with the Annual Maintenance Day at your great shop, Steve! I'm glad to hear that your recovery is coming along and look forward to seeing you soon!
  2. My sincere Thanks! to everyone that has taken the time to express their incredibly kind and thoughtful comments and kudos, either here on the Forum or via a PM. Being able to meet, visit and befriend so many of you has been an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience, one that I hold very dear. I have greatly appreciated the on-going support you offered and the camaraderie you provided. I'll see you down the road...
  3. I recently (on 12/28/10) bought some cell phone accessories, which were shipped from China, and they arrived yesterday!
  4. Thanks, Gary, for the improved link (which works fine)! For those that can afford to acquire the videos, you are correct, in that it's always great to support those who make a worthwhile contribution and/or have a great product at a wonderful price. In this case I would say this person has accomplished both. For those that are not able to make the purchase, "Hat's Off" to both Bob and Randy for offering to make their copies available. Either way, as Forum Members, we win. Now, how cool is that?
  5. The link above takes me to an eBay home page and not the the item mentioned, or the Seller. Help, please? Thanks!
  6. This appears to be absolute and complete hocum. His commentary brings up more questions than it answers. Next... Habib the Not-Fooling-Around
  7. After a fantastic and wonderful 3-year run, the time has come for me to step down as Host of the North GA Monthly M&E. I had a simple idea when I started this, which was to create an opportunity for those of us in this, and neighboring areas, to be able to get-together on a more regular basis. That was an idea that proved fruitful, and now, after thirty-something get-togethers (we did miss a month here and there), I am thankful and appreciative for all of the extraordinary support. Thanks, too, to those who Co-Hosted events during this time! I'm not going away and there's nothing wrong! I am, thankfully, incredibly busy providing useful/helpful mortgage information to Clients all across the country. In addition, I am in the midst of starting up a new financial-assistance business to help people accelerate the payoff of their credit obligations (including long-term mortgages!), legally and ethically. It is my hope that this change in circumstance will provide an opportunity for others to pick up the ball and run with it; that is to say, I hereby challenge you (that would include anyone and everyone reading this) to schedule and host a M&E of your own! Again, my very special Thanks! to each and every one of you that attended a North GA Monthly M&E or one of the several "Joint Ventures". It really is an honor and a privilege to be a part of this great Forum Family. Terry/Blackjack/Habib
  8. I'm pretty sure you have your "grips" reversed, Mama Yama! I'm just sayin'... Well, I've tried calling, both last night and this morning, so it's possible you forgot to let him back out of the closet. Again, I'm just sayin'... Habib the Concerned
  9. It looks like you might be coming through Atlanta, so, regardless of whether you're heading South or North (as in coming or going!), give a shout out and maybe some of us in the area can get together with you for an impromptu M&E. I know that I would certainly enjoy getting to meet you! Habib the Hospitable 770-736-8350
  10. Sincere Best Wishes, Steve, for a problem-free surgery followed by very prompt and full recovery! Habib the Hopeful
  11. I used Vonage for over 5 years and was always happy with the service. Eventually, though, I became very unhappy with the taxes/fees that were being added, just as if they were a regular phone company. Towards the end of my time with them the nuisance fees were almost $15 monthly. I switched to www.voipo.com earlier this year and have been very satisfied with their features and service, which I use every day without incident (and, yes, I'm on the phone a lot of the time!). Also, at no additional expense, I was able to download a third-party virtual phone that allows me to use the service right on my desktop or laptop, which is yet another convenience. 12. I apologize if the point of my post might have been misunderstood, Don. I am indicating to all that: 1) the Battery Tender is an incredibly good product (no doubt confirmed by your acknowledgment that you own two) and 2) that even though the unit was beyond warranty, they were willing to send me a new/upgraded unit at a nominal price (which is comparable, within 25 cents, to the lowest price otherwise found online). So, the post was not about the price I paid for the product (which was, nonetheless, as good a deal as could be found), but rather about the company providing excellent Customer Service and standing behind their product, regardless of where it may have been purchased! Habib the Unambiguous
  13. My Battery Tender went on the fritz about a year ago and I only recently got around to sending it back to the manufacturer. The unit I had came with the '83 Venture when I bought it in September 2006, so I have no idea how old it was by then. Long story short: the unit was completely beyond warranty (it was the older version with a 5-year limit), so they called me and said “we'll just send you a new, improved one, with a 10-year warranty, for $45, including shipping”. (I am aware that there are good prices available for this unit online, but this deal still beat the lowest price I could find when you include the delivery expense.) I said OK, they sent it, and now I have it, all within about a week. A very good deal for me + a great product + excellent/considerate Customer Service + prompt turn-around time, which all adds up to an exceptional “Good Vendor” experience! Edited at 2:05 PM on 12/07/10: Sorry, folks, I incorrectly thought that by mentioning "manufacturer" you would realize I was referring to the makers of the Battery Tender products. 14. I prefer a high-visibility vest with reflective striping, which I can wear with any jacket. $6-$25, depending on the quality. Even Wally World has them in the Sporting Goods section. Habib the Highly-Visible
  15. Janis and I send our sincere best wishes for a prompt and full recovery, Bob! Habib the Hopeful
  16. Thanks again, Bobbie, for all the great photos and for documenting the goings-on of the Southeastern Branch of the Forum! Terry
  17. I suppose I should check in more often! Belated Happy Birthday! wishes, Bobbie, and may you have nothing but wonderful days in the year to come! Habib the Dawdler
  18. If you do, you might want to check out Buffalo's Wild Wings tomorrow night. My son's "cover" band (he's the drummer and this is one of several bands he's in, including jazz, country, show, etc.!) will be performing there. You can eat, drink, and enjoy some of your favorite music. It's on the other side of the world for me, but I'm going to try to make it and hope to see you there! Terry
  19. Now, that's funny! It's just too darn bad that the trailer is soooooo obvious; otherwise, I could be interested, at the right price, of course! Thanks for looking out for me Paul, with friends like you, well, never mind... Terry
  20. Tankless is great, but expensive up front. Most households do not need hot water all day, so my personal preference is an electric unit to which you add a timer that allows you to turn it on and off ahead of when you need actually need it. Habib the Energy-Conserving
  21. Thanks for all the great photos, Bobbie! I'm still dizzy from the amazing collection of cars, scoots, kid's rides, and vending machines... Habib the Fascinated
  22. From all of us to all of you, thanks for a great get-together! The dessert menu was absolutely luscious and we enjoyed it immensely... Terry & Associates
  23. Wow! I'm sorry to hear that you had a fall, Bob, but very glad to hear that you're OK! That's a pretty ride you have and I hope you are able make everything right with it again, quickly and easily. Terry
  24. Mike is right! You really can't beat Two Brothers Tires. I can't say enough good things about Tim and Ernie at Two Brothers Tires. They run a great shop, are honest and friendly, and always have great prices on tires and installation. I'm fortunate in that I only live about 8 miles from their shop. A bunch of us on this Forum use them exclusively. Oh, and one other thing, you won't get a warehouse rat of a tire. They are now selling online nationally, so give them a look: http://www.discount-motorcycletires.com/ Highly recommended!!! Terry
