  1. Here's what I wear: http://tinyurl.com/yellow-rainsuit It's the bright yellow one-piece coverall made out of DuPont Tyvek. The hooded version costs between $10 -$13, depending on the size you need (I suggest one to two sizes larger than what you normally wear). This has been a great find! It has elastic in the wrists and ankles and it rolls up very small! By the way, the less-expensive white coverall (or a second yellow one) makes a great wrenching outfit and is good to carry in the car or on the bike to keep your clothes from getting greasy if you need to pull out the tool-kit. 2. I quickly admit that I am a liquor lightweight and the simple truth is that I do not drink and ride, at all, ever. Just not gonna do it! Now, I did say "noticeable". I was just gettin' started, but one-by-one my cohorts were walking away from the table! What's a guy to do? Habib the Abandoned
  3. I can personally attest and verify that Margaret's Watermelon 'Ritas pack a wallop. The problem is that it's not noticeable until somewhere between Number 3 and Number 4... Habib the Besotted
  4. Moto 400, which is a fairly large motorcycle dealership in Dawsonville GA (and which we've visited a couple of times during our North GA M&Es), has just announced that it is dropping both its' Yamaha and Triumph lines and is converting completely and exclusively to a pre-owned sales model. They indicate in their newsletter that the cost of maintaining new inventory, coupled with decreased demand and financing constraints has led them to this far-reaching business decision. This is a great location with a great staff, so it's not like they didn't take care of their Customers. I, for one, wish them well as they move forward... Habib the Supportive
  5. Congratulations, my Brother! This is most excellent news, indeed. May the mechanical gods rain endless lira on your future... Habib the Proud
  6. If you don't already know about it, www.goldwingdocs.com is another great site for the DIY Wing owner. Habib the Informed
  7. I just spoke to John and he tells me he's pretty sore and a bit bruised up, but he's otherwise doing fine. He did seem to be in very good spirits, especially for someone who just a day ago got thrown through the air from his bike and doesn't remember the flying part! Hopefully he will heal quickly and fully and will not have too much difficulty with the insurance side of this event. I'm hoping he's comfortably back in the saddle before very long... Habib the Relieved
  8. Wholesale. Retail. Please always keep in mind the difference... Habib the Merchant
  9. Interaction without conversation/communication seems rather pointless. The story I read does not allude to any discussion, just reaction and attitude. Even if the store personnel did not speak properly to the customer, that does not, at all, preclude the customer from staying in control of the situation and accomplishing what they set out to do in the first place. There's likely more to the story than what has been stated, but I would certainly have made it known that perhaps there might be a misunderstanding here, sir, in that I have already requested and received confirmation from Victory that I was all set to have the test ride I showed up for! Now, where are those keys? I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't go anywhere without getting what I show up for, and it's always accomplished with a smile on my face and a most pleasant attitude, one that cannot be shaken by any other, for any reason. Kindly allow me to suggest that one is always better served by responding, and not reacting. Why? When you react you effectively give up control and, by default, compromise your Self, which can start a whole chain reaction of mis-directed events. If you need an example, you only need read through this thread again... Habib the Not-Compromised
  10. Don, you are, without a doubt, the very best Friend a Forum could possibly have! Janis and I send our sincere best wishes for a successful surgery followed by a speedy and full recovery. Habib the Concerned
  11. Janis and I wish you both all the very best! Happy Anniversary! Habib the Kindly One
  12. You are gazing upon a recently-taken photo of the Habib Brothers, who will someday make a personal appearance at a M&E near you... I will leave it to my Brother to make his identity known, but be sure, he is among you! Habib the Happy One
  13. I have debated going back to the Vintage Days Festival again this year. It's a toss-up between that and going to the MicroCar Museum in Madison GA. I was thinking that we might consider going to Barber every other year, but I am open to going again this year, if that helps get the most Forum Members in the same place at the same time! We'll see how things shake out in the next few weeks... TERRY

  15. Today's the Day! Be sure to enjoy at least one Blizzard today at your local DQ and support the Children's Miracle Network with every delicious sip. I look forward to hearing about get-togethers around the country later today. Take pics and post them, please! TERRY
  16. I have an '83 and had Pastor Paul's 2nd Gen on hand for awhile, so I've ridden both. Add to that my neighbor, friend and riding buddy, Kenny, who is a long-time and very skilled rider, had a 2nd Gen and we often swapped bikes. My 1st Gen always smoked his 2nd Gen, regardless of who was riding which bike. He ended up selling his beautiful 2nd Gen for an 1800 Wing. Now the tables have been turned... TERRY
  17. Thanks for sharing your story, Don! That's just part of what makes this site such a great family. Janis and I send our thoughts and prayers your way. All of your loved ones here will rally around you, my friend, so if there is anything any of us can do to be helpful, please don't hesitate to ask... Terry
  18. This is worth watching: http://tinyurl.com/CH-freeze-credit TERRY
  19. It won't be long now. Blizzards Around the World. I like it... I hope you'll join us at a DQ somewhere near you. After all, there are over 5700 locations worldwide! Find one in the US here: http://tiny.cc/find-a-DQ TERRY
  20. If you are going to order tires online, you might also include http://www.discount-motorcycletires.com/ in your search. Tim and Ernie, the Two Brothers, run a great local operation. Many of us in the Atlanta area use them and they are now increasing their online presence, as well. You can expect to receive "fresh" tires, great service, and low prices from them. If you find a better price somewhere else, give them a call and see if they will meet the deal. I, and many others, use them time after time for their honesty and reliability. Terry
  21. OK. I'm personally ready for the big day. I finally got around to having a "practice" round this afternoon. Mmmnn, mmmnn, it was dandy fine: a cold and creamy treat in the middle of another Hot'lanta scorcher. Thursday's coming up fast, so don't forget to make your plans to participate! TERRY
  22. Take a look at post #10 in this thread by Painterman! Terry
  23. I don't consider that a hijacking, at all! We are all working towards the same purpose, which is to have a great turnout by Forum Members on the same day, all in support of the same two causes: one, to feed your face and, two, to help support the Children's Miracle Network (not necessarily listed in order of importance!). Thanks, Trader, for stepping in and stepping up! TERRY
  24. I really like the idea of folks getting together at their local DQs, wherever possible. That way we can have multiple M&Es all over North America on the same day, sharing the same goodies (Blizzards!), and supporting a truly worthy cause. What an awesome group this is! Be sure to take a picture and post it here after your get-together! By the way, I encourage you to take a few minutes to look at some of the videos on the web page I posted (http://www.miracletreatday.com/). They are incredibly inspiring... Excuse me, but I have to head out now for a practice round! TERRY
  25. OK, this is pretty much a no-brainer. Since Dairy Queen seems to be the "Official Pitstop" for just about everyone on this Forum, I hereby suggest that we proclaim next Thursday, August 5th, 2010, as the "1st-Ever Official DQ Day for VR.org". Now, why would I suggest such a thing? It's simple, really. DQ is donating at least one dollar for every Blizzard purchased on August 5th to the Children's Miracle Network. We all like children; we all like DQ; and we all like Blizzards. Feed your face and help the children all at the same time. What could be better? Please click this link for more info and please participate next Thursday: http://www.miracletreatday.com/ Thank You! TERRY
