I wanted to let everyone know that I had a nice telephone visit with Pastor Paul this afternoon. He told me that his problem was discovered as a result of having pneumonia twice in the last six months in his left lung, so they performed a scan and discovered the mass, which is the size of two fists. He goes into surgery (5-8 hours) on Tuesday at 10 AM, so please be thinking about him, especially at that time. He and Toni have gone camping tonight, originally to have some alone time. However, some of his local friends and associates found out about it and now there's a small crowd there. He says the more the merrier, so for anyone that might be in the area, they are staying at Points West Military Recreation Area at Clarke's Hill Lake (outside Augusta GA), in camping area #2. You are welcome and encouraged to ride over tomorrow to say hello and wish Paul well. Paul asked me to let everyone know how grateful and appreciative he is for all the well-wishes expressed on the Forum. I will update the other post Tuesday afternoon, once I hear from Toni about the outcome of the surgery. My thanks, as well, to all of you... TERRY

I would strongly encourage you NOT to look at this incident as having been bitten for doing the right thing, since what you do and what you've done is all that matters, really. You get to move forward knowing you did not compromise or concede, but rather pushed to do what was in the best interest of everyone. Honestly, it doesn't get any better than that! I, for one, Congratulate you. TERRY

I would love to join you, but Janis and I have rarely-seen friends coming in on Friday for a quick visit on their way back to Oregon, and current plans have us going in a different direction. Enjoy the show... TERRY

You are right about that, Ruffy! The November North GA M&E will find us heading towards Savannah for another "Joint Venture". Details will be posted soon, so keep a look out... TERRY

Here's the newly-formulated "Plan B" (the "B" stands for breakfast!), so that all those converging at my house can get fed properly. I was originally going to cook breakfast but couldn't get a good read on how many would show, and, as I have a very busy day today, prep time is out of the question. And sure-by-golly, a good M&E should always start out with some good eatin'! We will depart from my house between 7:15 and 7:30 AM and head for the Metro Diner at 1905 Rockbridge Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30087. So, come on to my house or meet us at the Diner, whichever is easiest for you to do. This map shows my home location: http://tinyurl.com/The-March-On-Rome and here's a map to the Diner: http://tinyurl.com/Metro-Diner See you here, or see you there, or see you along the way, or see you in Rome, sometime tomorrow! Welcome aboard, Alan! We're delighted to make your acquaintance... Might I say, however, that you have obviously proven you are able to post a note on the Forum, so any and all excuses to the contrary (for instance, "me and 'puter's don't go together") now have little or no relevance! Accordingly, we hope to see you here frequently! TERRY

What can I say, Eck? It would appear that Yammer Dan will be joining Lewis when they start passing out the medication for ADD! TERRY

Good Evening, Ken! I am just about to send you a PM about meeting up to ride over together. See you soon! TERRY

LED's, my feeble attempts.
Blackjack replied to Schlepporello's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Very nice, indeed! One of these days I'll stay off the bike long enough to work on it. I really, really like your clever use of the LEDs. Most excellent! TERRY -
I was pretty sure that you had already met the ever-delightful Janis (my better two-thirds!). Somewhere down the line the Muffinman certainly has!!! At any rate, once you meet her you will quickly realize that she goes wherever she wants to, whenever she wants to, in the manner that she chooses to. Which is as it should be... TERRY

Margaret, you are coming to GA, and that's that! Do whatever you have to, as quickly as you need to, just get it done! I still look forward to seeing you Friday afternoon... TERRY

I'm sorry to hear of this very close call with misfortune, Barend! Anger, alcohol, and motors can't possibly mix well, in any combination. It's one thing to make your own choices about what you do, but it's another thing entirely to consider the outcome and consequences, especially as that might relate to those who love and care about you. Has his dear, sweet mother gotten around to kicking his **s yet? TERRY

Lewis, my friend, I sincerely hope you have a very wonderful and successful visit to St. Jude's. I know that I and many others here appreciate your diligence, focus and support of this very worthy cause. Hopefully, though, we can get you some treatment for your occasional affliction of Attention Deficit Disorder, so that next year we can better coordinate our events... TERRY

Your bike is both rare and beautiful, and for the sake of posterity, deserves extensive consideration as to the overall end result if you paint it (i.e., eliminating #3 of 1500 from the world). It seems that the issue here is color preference versus value (since you got a good deal). By the time you pay to have it painted I would not think there would be any significant financial advantage versus purchasing another 2000 Venture, in a color you would like, and selling the one you have. OK, everyone, I have just now received a very nice, very positive reply from the folks at BlueMax. They just got back from Sturgis and were not able to keep up with email, etc. while there. I am on my way to Vogel and will post more info early next week, so stay tuned! Thanks! TERRY

When I first looked at this thread and followed the link to the Blue Max chair, I immediately sent them an email requesting wholesale pricing for a group purchase. After a full week and not ever getting a response, I re-sent my previous message and still got no answer. I have also called the phone number listed on the website and have discovered it is "no longer in service". So, for now, I'm getting no results in my efforts to contact this company. When I attempt to order a chair from the site I am immediately directed to PayPal. I absolutely will not pursue (nor do I recommend) making a purchase from this website unless and until I, or anyone else, hears directly from the company. TERRY

Look What Annie Did Today....................
Blackjack replied to Aussie Annie's topic in Watering Hole
I am ever-so-happy for you, Annie, and salute your determination and courage to keep riding! I sincerely hope you enjoy every precious moment on your beautiful scoot! TERRY -
Janis and I send heartfelt condolences and best wishes to all of his family and friends at this very difficult time. It is all-too-clear that he was a beloved friend to many here. His spirit will surely live on in the thoughts, prayers, and memories of all those who were so fortunate to know him. TERRY

You better get better, Rooster, and quickly, I might add. It's a crime indeed to let that newly-painted beauty of yours sit around idle. Heal quickly and fully, my friend, and let's hope we see you at Vogel next week! TERRY
