  1. I must have missed something here. When and how did Florida get left out? TERRY
  2. ... and would like to attend the International Motorcycle Show in Greenville SC next Saturday, read this thread: [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43959]Jan 9th, 2010 - North GA/SC M&E - Let's Go To The Show! - VentureRider.Org[/ame] Sure, it's the dead of winter, but at least we won't likely have to battle the snow. Come by bike, come by cage, come by rocket ship; it doesn't matter how you get there. Just remember, it won't be the same without you! TERRY
  3. I hope all goes well with your time there, Ted, and Good Luck! with all that snow. We'll miss you at some of the southern M&Es, but look forward to seeing you again "down the road". TERRY
  4. Congratulations to you both, Don! One one hand fifteen years can seem like a long time; however, when it comes to the one you love, it's more like the snap of a finger. Here's wishing you at least 15 more great years together... TERRY
  5. As much as I might like to send all of you some extra cash for the holidays, well, that's just not going to happen. In lieu of cash, I offer you instead Buy One Get One Blizzard coupons (6 per year!) that you can share when attending M&Es and Rallies with your Forum Family and Friends. Just click on the link below and get signed up: http://tinyurl.com/bogo-blizzards Happy Holidays! TERRY
  6. My reference to them having crazy prices is based on some deals I got at less than half-price by going to the "Closeout" section, then clicking on "Bargain Basement". So far, I have bought a mesh jacket, mesh pants, and textile pants from them, and I am extremely satisfied with my acquisitions. This does not mean that they will always have the lowest price on any particular item, just that they are worth looking at when you are in the market for something. Their Customer Service is stellar and they make a donation to VR.org with every purchase we make. Good luck with your boot purchase... TERRY
  7. New Enough might very well be the best internet company of all. Great selection, crazy prices (especially on the Closeouts), and insanely great customer service. Truly, a model for all other companies to emulate. They are always my first and foremost "go-to" place whenever I need gear. TERRY
  8. Or, if you prefer considering its' "by the quart" price, that would be $1.72... TERRY
  9. After reading this post a few times lately I have determined it would be wise to give DELO 400 a try. If it's good enough for Caterpillar, well, you know... So I went to my local O'Reilly's a little while ago to buy a gallon and surprise of surprises, they offered it to me BOGO (but one get one), so I am now the proud owner of 2 gallons of oil for which I paid a total of $13.77, tax included! Now that's righteous... Just thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to twist some arms at your local O'Reilly's sometime soon. TERRY
  10. I'm pretty sure I can make it... TERRY
  11. Given the colors available, it does not appear that you could use that on the front of your bike; however, the red version mounted on the rear and tied into the brake light might be real sweet... TERRY
  12. Great photos, Jack! Who even knew that any were being taken? Thanks, again, for another great day together! TERRY
  13. I'm on the maybe list for both Friday and Saturday nights, but you guys already know I can curl up anywhere. I'll have a better idea a couple of days out... TERRY
  14. Here's the skinny on the next North GA M&E: [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=401459#post401459]Announcing the Great Seafood AdVenture – the November '09 North GA M&E - VentureRider.Org[/ame] TERRY
  15. I've been "jonesing" for a dual sport for quite some time. I loved my test ride on the KTM Adventurer (however, it's expensive beyond my consideration!), and like you, did not care for the Ulysses (which is almost as expensive!). I keep going back to the KLR 650, which might very well be the most bike you can get for the money on a new machine. TERRY
  16. I'm glad to see you back among the living, Tony! By the way, you haven't attended the requisite number of North GA M&Es to be able to sell your bike just yet! We're heading to Tybee Island on the 14th of November for the Great Big Thanksgiving Seafood Extravaganza. You should join us if you can! TERRY
  17. Great video. I hope that everyone sends this to at least a few people they know and care about. Thanks for posting... TERRY
  18. You gotta read it to believe it: http://superbikeplanet.com/2009/Oct/091015buellfolds.htm TERRY
  19. I always carry a couple of super-large zip-lock bags; one is for the cooling vest and the other is for rain gear (after it's wet and I'm ready to stow it). The length of time a cooling vest is effective varies, based on several factors: how long it was soaking and cooling before first use of the day; mine stays overnight in the zip-lock, soaking in ice water (which ice, of course, melts eventually, but does start out colder than tap water!), in the refrigerator your personal body temperature when you put the vest on and your own tendency to heat up (some folks are more warm-blooded than others!) turning the vest inside out after awhile, since the side closest to your body will heat up faster than the side getting hit by air when stopping for gas, first thing to do is throw some (free) ice water into the zip-lock and "refresh" the vest while you gas up and take a few minutes to rest, use the facilities, grab a snack, etc. While not a perfect solution, a cooling vest behind a mesh jacket (as pointed out previously, it can't possibly work behind a textile or leather jacket) can and does make a big difference in very- to extremely-hot weather. 20. Very, very nice. I'd be glad to ride that sweet thing anywhere! TERRY
  21. Janis and I are very saddened to hear of this incredible loss to his family and his friends. We sincerely hope that those touched directly by this will soon be able to put a smile on their face as they think of all the wonderful times they have been able to share. Our condolences and best wishes to all... TERRY
  22. I would like to suggest that what everyone might be perceiving as arrogance is actually nothing more than the behavior and mentality of those who, for any great variety of reasons, dwell in the "lowest common denominator". As the old song goes, "be kind to your web-footed friends, 'cause a duck may be somebody's Mother..." TERRY
  23. Well, here it is: 2010 Star line: http://tinyurl.com/2010-Star For the sake of comparison, here's the 2009 offering: http://tinyurl.com/2009-Star No RSTD New Stratoliner Deluxe, no "plain" Stratoliner no Roadliner Midnight no "plain" Roadstar upgraded 1300 Tourer no "plain" 1300 no 1100s, at all no Warriors There are some pricing changes on all models, some more modest than others. TERRY
  24. Barend, If you don't take bongobobny up on his offer, the next best way to get a real cheap phone is to go to eBay, do a search for "Verizon no contract phones" and see what pops up (I just got 113 results doing a search!). I have bought all my phones for the last several years this way (I'm on Sprint), rather inexpensively, since I'm not currently willing to be on a contract for service. TERRY
  25. I'm sorry to hear of your circumstances and sincerely hope that all works out well for you as you move forward. On the bright side, you'll get to write a new Chapter in your Book of Life, which could prove to be both interesting and exciting. Janis and I sincerely wish you the very best... TERRY
