  1. Out of curiosity, what's a insurance companies point of view? I mean heck I've heard and I've seen a insurance company NOT cover a rider when he wasn't wearing gear, what about tires on a motorcycle? You get into a accident, would the insurance company raise a eye brow?
  2. I'm looking to buy brand new sliders, and diaphragms, I know where to get the diaphragms, but most of the places to get sliders it appears they COME with diaphragms. And don't appear to be removable for me to add new diaphragms that look a lot different than the floppy sloppy ones I've gotten with the sliders+Diaphragm sets.
  3. A RSV with a current VMAX engine touring tuned.................. wow... Maybe... see a return of the Venture Royale style!
  4. Check the connections, hose them down if all else with CRC Electrical COnnector cleaner, let dry, and reseat. Mine used to do that, after a cleaning of the connectors, all was better. (and then a month later replaced the headlight all together with a new chrome plated one)
  5. Just road the bike to work with the map Gary sent me and man it was a BLAST. Utterly SMOOTH, heck smoother than the stock tci when it came to bringing the engine up to speed. Before if I revved heavy she'd stall somewhere something would catch up and there I go. Now its butter. I'm wondering if this maybe had a effect on the fuel intake I do have a new question, Gary, when I loaded the Venture ign you sent me, the IAP bar stopped being filled, when I switched back to the one they sent, the bar fills O.o, the NUMBERS do change, but that bar IAP does not fill. I am using the one they sent me I can email THAT program tonight.
  6. I'll give points for that. The Wings seat is great, but man, getting on it myself as a backseater, or even a friend of mine, always, I boot the driver, and the passenger boots the driver
  7. I learned... what felt that worked. 1. Maneuver the bike into a SAFE position for mounting, and launching from, put kickstand down. 2. Double check my passenger is ready. 3. Mount my bike, check balance 4. I Tell them to place left foot on the passenger board, left hand on my left shoulder, and right hand on the seat rest, and lift yourself into place, as you get on, move your right hand to my right shoulder, and sit. 5. Kickstand up, engage first gear. GO Off? kickstand down, hop off.
  8. My V-Star 650 was a greater learners bike. Yea steerings not too great when comparing from a Venture or a GoldWing, but its like a bicycle, and its light. If all else, the VSTar 950 isn't that bad of a learners bike either. Rode alright, but I only got to hop on for around the block test. And if you well... want to be a heavy duty limiter. Tell em to pay for their own gas And see what the difference is between going easy, and going hard.
  9. Hows does this gyro tell the bike to get upright? It'd have to be big enough to cause a effect. And that same effect can be either positive.... or negative
  10. With my hair at my shoulders, and it being naturally curly (curses) I do rag it, and hair tie. Do-rag keeps my hair out of my eyes, and the hair tie keeps the hair behind me. Now taking the rag and tie out at the end of the day is a minute and a half affair with everything knotted up like fort knox. Been thinking of letting this girl I know dreadlocks the back of my head. As for helmet hair, theirs no awesome end all be all fix... unlike Flow on TV
  11. Doing the nice and easy approach... got me 31.3 MPG. I just got a new IGN map for the Igni from Gary, thanks. Just uploaded it. And yea, those Curves are much different, though didn't check that VMAX curve >.> those are VMAX curves >.> I haven't VMAXed the bike but I'll check in a bit, laptop didn't seem to like visiting outside.
  12. I'm wondering.... when my dad tore the carbs apart he some how screwed something up wouldn't be the first time.
  13. Sliders and diaphragms were replaced last year, November 8th. Sent from my BlackBerry 9810 using Tapatalk
  14. Oh yea, thats what I was doing. Riding 55 and 65 was what I was doing post ignitech, and 70 when the speed limit said so.
  15. I've heard 30 mpg, 35, and I've heard of a Venture getting 40 mpg. Before the ignitech, I was getting 33-35 MPG. Now its 28-31 MPG with the ignitech. I haven't purified my Air Cleaner--again, its also a K&N. But what else? Is it something the Ignitech TCI is doing? I KNOW 100% I am running RICHER than I should be, as I can hear the popping and firing in the H-Pipe in the lower RPMs (2-2.5) it cleans up, but I noticed I got 32 MPG ridding her in the high RPMs, vs the lower RPMs yesterday. I rode from Hanford to Madera, and coming back I had enough gas to 2 up my sister from Hanford to Tulare, filling up on Huston and 99's Shell Station. I'd like to have my 35 back, or heck the 40 would be nice. I'm not going to take apart my carbs and chk the diaphragms, or sliders just yet... not until I've got replacements. Just in case they're the issue. Though She is running better now with the SeaFoam. Or am I hoping too much from the ol' Gal?
  16. Would a HID bright enough to allow me to see it better at night while wearing a blue mirror faceshield? Far too many folks misalign their low beams out here.
  17. recushioned. Guy in Visallia is happy to rip my seat apart again, and rebuild it for me. I was thinking a cushier blue.
  18. It was a google search quick and bloody yea and that seems to be consensus as well. I know I would have to jumper the cms to make it not go insane, might as well get it all LEDed if I'm gonna do that.
  19. Anyone... seen these? or tried them? http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/led-h4-high-low.html Or better... are they simply for "Aux" lights?
  20. Just a bit of a jump in here: Evercookies... I hated that name. Its just a fancy name for a JAVA API. But overall its all stored on system, and yes they can be removed. If you happen to be rolling certain security toolbars from certain manufactures (ZoneAlarms Forcefield toolbar) running Chromes Incognito, and theres one other... Anyway, this is where EverCookies usually get patched to: http://samy.pl/evercookie/ Nuking that isn't really all that hard, actually some programs do that for you. Some are free, some are not. Just be warry, some of those pay ones can screw you over as can the free ones. Also some Firewalls also can by default prevent evercookies from forming as well. Though, I figure its time I go run a check to see how many "I" got. Its been a while, makes me wonder if I gotta rebuild the old blocker. If I remember right... certain clean up programs help too... and it seems... I can't run my checker O.o And I skipped FreeBird: Watch out for Flash Ads, and Ads in general. Those automatically load in cookies. WETHER YOU CLICK ON THEM OR NOT. Reason why I've got three ad blockers.... But tx2sturgis, good stuff.
  21. No. But if I could throw this dude away from my 650, yea. I'll put the new front fender on, hook up the new lights, and bags, and away I go, but I'll need free temporary places to bunk. I got gas money, and emergency money, not stay in a warm bed money! (I've got too much of a to-do list for the Lady to do a cross country trip)
  22. I know... I know... Just concerned of the fact his stupdity could of directly effected me, and if it harmed my Lady
  23. mmm... come back from work early yesterday to burn in the seafoam... stop in at autozone grabbed some more seafoam, and get ready to get back on the highway. Well, I get out of autozone, and I'm at the 2nd light before my left turn... and I hear a rumble behind me. Its a cruiser, so, I'm thinkin, OK. but the Next thing I know, I look over to my right and there he is.... WTF?! THERES CARS BEHIND ME! He cut through them! and the whole time I'm tempted to turn my tunes off, lean over and tap him and tell him, "If your gonna ride like that, don't get hurt when I'm around. I wont stop for you." I didn't, and when the light turned green, he tailed gated the car in front of me till their was just BARELY enough room, and he just hard charged it. That kinda ruined my whole ride plan. Kinda deflated...
  24. Seems I have "dry rot" but there's nothing I can do. Don't have a enclosed garage, just a open air sheltered garage. I will see about calling them up... but it's not covered as far as I know, its not premature cracking, the tires WERE left in the cold. >.>
