  1. FieldSheer ATG, and Aqua Tour 2 for the Winter Months. TourMaster Flex for the spring, summer, and fall months. For Winter, FirstGear Overpants, and during the wet, some boot covers. The OPs and the FieldSheers dry fast after a good shake under cover, so I don't really wear any extra rain gear--FieldSheer ATG that you can typically only buy in Dealer shops, that quilted liner has never let me down, the new one in the AT2... isn't so great tho. I don't wear overpants, or even chaps during the summer, the Lady gets me all hot and bothered enough when traffic in town goes to s*** I am looking into some mesh overpants with armor soon, after I'm done working on the Lady. (Looking at TourMaster, JoeRocket, FieldSheer, and FirstGear OPs) I don't return items tbh. I'd of loved to of switch my Vega Summit 3 flipup for the one without the BlueTooth, but I said scrack it. The BT in that thing sucks, keep it under 45, or you'll never hear the person. But yea, only reason I don't send stuff back, never know it might fit a passenger, hahaha.
  2. I hate that hose.... Thinking of replacing it with something fresher though, mine is starting to crack at both ends. Figure a long flexible one with heat covers.
  3. And thats 48 front, 42 rear right? I'll try that. I like the Avons they give very nice traction, and ease of movement. Though, with the insane wind we be getting lately--much so I thought the poor arse behind me was gonna find himself with a flag mounted to his windshield!--Its proving to be a beautiful experience, though... BEFORE at 32/32, I could not exceed 75, bike would just wobble, at 50/50 its pretty darn good. I'll lower the pressures tonight when I get home though, I can't find my pressure gauges anywhere on the Venture >:|
  4. Odd, the Venom X in the rear said 50. Filled both tires to 50 at the shop yesterday. It did make a difference. Now all I need is the forks redone and a fork brace, and maybe R1 Calipers, almost--not quite--ran out of room in my high speed turn. Little bit of crazy though kinda cleaned me and the bike up though.
  5. Where's that located?
  6. Yea, both Venom X tires show significant splitting. But their all shallow, so I'm assuming its simply the softer compound itself.
  7. Despite the cracking that is showing on the tires?
  8. Less vibration as well being transmitted up the forks as well. My V-Star 650 used the steel fender as a brace. These better than the Super Brace?
  9. I've got some old programs at home I used to use. I'll get em a shot
  10. Link of how to: http://www.wikihow.com/Unsecure-a-Secure-PDF-File Quote of how to:
  11. I'll make sure to get one when I saved up enough. Gotta save money for the fork rebuild kit from BuckEye first. Though. Carmichael Ca huh? Maybe I'll ride up there to pick it up
  12. Update your Adobe Reader from 6, to at least 9. If you don't WANT to http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/ There's a issue with PDFs created in newer versions of PDF publishers that can cause false security sets. That and... V 6 has a nasty security flaw >.> Either way, update your reader may solve the problem. if you do Foxit Reader, that program will tell you if its passworded or not, etc.
  13. Wondering should I use the sidewall "maximum PSI" number for my Venom X tires? Or should I stick to the MTL (Manufacturer Tire Label) on the bike?
  14. Wow... I mean WOW. Earl told me to start doing it... so Monday this week, I went to autozone after work--and after my paycheck deposit--I picked up two 16 oz bottles of SeaFoam, and CarbCleaner (to try Earls onbike carb clean). I got home, I'm looking over things. I start the Venture up, and she fires up on three cylinders. Just sitting there for a few minutes and she keeps at it. I turn her off, and pop the fuel cap, I rough guess two ounces of seafoam, because I didn't have much fuel left. Put the cap back on, and turned the key. I let the fuel pump run, and just let her sit there (she's on the tender too) I then start her up. Three cylinders fire... after 20 seconds she starts coughing. I noticed she's getting rougher and then... I hear the fourth cylinder fireing. She's clearing up and I rev her up nice and slow, and she's going, she's clear, clean. I didn't ride her tuesday, but today, I rode her to work. I'm gonna clock out early today to do the on-the-bike carb clean, but still, this is one awesome not painful lesson I learned. USE SEA FOAM! (I'll be buying another for my dad, his GoldWing sneezed)
  15. Just bought some seafoam and carbcleaner from autozone. Tried the seafoam. 3oz. Started up the bike. Heard three firing. Let choke go on and it started to sputter and complain. Then I heard all four. Rather nice. Will run the carb cleaner tomorrow. Ride to valereo full up and pour in three ounces of seafoam. Sent from my BlackBerry 9810 using Tapatalk
  16. I come to a stop on Gale Ave, I need to go left, and there's a car, a gap, a semi truck, and two cars, and my right is empty, theres plenty of gap for me. So I get going. As I make the turn... I see I have two car lengths left before I get smeared across the road because some arsehat in a pickup is passing the semi truck, and he's got no room left because of me. needless to say, after putting on my high beam and moving into the shoulder, I was safe. Him? Well... lets just say the police officer with flashers had a few questions for him. And a few tickets.
  17. Wish I was there to ask the Venture's Rider some questions haha!
  18. Out for fun, or out to see the sights. Tbh, nothings better than to ride around California in a car, then do it again in a Motorcycle and see a LOT more. I'd post pictures, but they're all on Flickr, and linking them... didn't look so hawt in the preview. http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnmidnight/collections/72157603470382022/
  19. Almost looks like it, I found a 06 on Ebay, and it looks different. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-Escapade-Elite-Motorcycle-Luggage-Trailer-/120917092411?pt=Motors_Trailers&hash=item1c2738683b
  20. Was the rpm needle wavering? Like she was fighting the stall? I had the same problem, and it turns out it was the tci. Sent from my BlackBerry 9810 using Tapatalk
  21. mm... come to think of it... I just realized my last gremlin bell was gone from Blue... mmm... and that one was on the right side of her.... thinkin I need need three new bells, one for each side, and one to hang from the rear. Then re-bless her at the next Bike Blessing when I get the new windshield.
  22. TBH. E3s. Fine tires. Got saddled with Avon Venoms that confuse me fierce, got tired of trying to find their sweet spot air pressure and just saddled them with 33/33. Man I wish for E3s.
  23. Sounds familure...
  24. 39. Leave the iPod at home You won't hear that cement truck in time with Spinal Tap cranked to 11, but they might like your headphones in intensive care 200$s for the right in ear buds, and the right volume, and you can still hear the world around you, as you ride within your own world. Just don't get lost.
  25. Hold on a second here... let me see... 25 here. yea, thats right... 2012 - 1987 = 25, there we go. I stopped counting my years when my birthday was just another day. 1990 Lady Blue, started maybe two years ago on it when the VS650's drive shaft stripped itself when my dad put high pressure vs high temp grease on it when we took it apart the first time. Now I'm riding a Honda GoldWing as a temp ride till we get the Lady fixed again.
