  1. me and 6 others left the week b4 BBB started and stayed the whole time. We saw a Harley catch on fire on the main drag on Friday and when we started to leave Friday night we saw a guy stumble getting off his bike and knock 5 other bikes down like dominos. One of the guys test drove the Harley 3 wheeler and when he got off the interstate there was no sign so he got lost and it took him an hour to get back when it was supposed to be a 15 minute ride. They had already notofied the cops and they were looking for him when he got back. They got mad a took his paper back that he filled out so he could test ride and would not let him ride any more. Went on a lot of great rides and will definately go back. Lyle
  2. I have been off the site for a while as my computer blew up with all kind of viruses. Still dont have it right so I am borrowing one till I do.I will be leaving on Friday morning for Bikes, Blues and BarBQ in Arkansas and will not be back until Sunday after next. Never been to this rally but heard it is great and will be traveling with 2 other trikes and 3 bikes. Anybody else gonna be there?Sorry to have missed St. Jude, Lewis but I didn't know when it was since I didn't have a computer. Maybe next year.
  3. Lewis, no better way to send a young man off than to feed him some good Louisiana food. Jeff be careful and Mini be good. Lyle
  4. I carry the Keltec .380. I carry it in my front pocket which is loose and it cannot be seen. I carry everywhere I go except in federal building that do not allow LEO's to carry in them. It may be small but I only plan on using it to protect myself, my family, friends I am with or other LEOs who need help if I happen to be around. I am now retired and dont plan on using it to police.
  5. No harm, no foul as long as I didn't have to chase them.
  6. Was told today by a friend that used to work for Harley and his wife still does, that Harley will have a water cooled V4 in 2010. Don't really care as I have a Honda trike but thought I would put it out there.
  7. I hope everything goes as planned and you are not disapointed. It is great news for your daughter and I hope she is able to put it fully behind her. I hope he gets what he deserves and his rear becomes as used as I10. Good luck.
  8. Yeah, I had the same trouble, but not with my foot. Friends call me Bipod now. Good luck!
  9. I wanna come but it is a long way. Probably wont know till next May. Sure enjoyed myself this year. Pam enjoyed it to and that makes a big difference. Thanks again Ya'll.
  10. Lewis I was real upset that you didn't make it to Skid's because we sure had a lot to talk about!!! LSU WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN BASEBALL!!!! No one there seemed interested. I'n not sure if they dont like baseball or if they don't like Tigers.
  11. We got home about 6:45 pm after riding a total of 984 miles in 2 days. We had a fabulous time in the 2 weeks we were gone and got to see some relatives we had not seen for a while, but the real fun began in West Virginia. We rode some great rides led by Skid. On one of them we did not have to put our feet on the ground until an hour and a half after we left his house. That means no stop signs or other traffic signals, just curve after curve. Skid and Leslie were the perfect hosts and my wife really enjoyed meeting them and spending quality time with them. She also enjoyed meeting everyone else as she has listened to me talk about many of them for the past several years. She thought it was cool that many of the wifes participate on the site just as the men, even though she is too busy taking care of me to ge on it. I enjoyed meeting all of the people I did not know from the past even though most of them were from the north. We were the only deep southerners there. Skid we saw the white mountain goat on the way out and almost had a deer run into our bike at the first light after the New Gorge Bridge but he turned and ran paralel to the road just in time. Thanks to both you and Leslie for the good times and I wish you both all the best with the new baby. We Hope to see ya'll in the future. Love Lyle and Pam
  12. We should get there Wednesday afternoon and will stay at the Microtel until Sunday morning. Will be myself and my wife Pam. We are leaving here about 5am tomorrow and will spend a couple of days near the Dragon, a couple near Cherokee, NC and a couple near Lexington, Ky before getting there. Will see ya'll then. Lyle l
  13. I investigated a wreck where the spare came out from under a Vita Fresh Orange Juice 18 wheeler. The tire bounced across from the w/b I10 to the E/b I10, just missed a motorcycle and hit the top of a station wagon from Kansas, right over the drivers door and killed him. The car went off the interstate and his wife did not get a scratch. The truck did not know he lost his tire and kept going. We called the state police and they stopped the truck about 30 miles away and brought him back. Very freaky.
  14. Kenny I just read this. I had no idea you had anything other than a hurt foot. If you read this tonight or early in the morning let me know where you are and I will ride over and see you. Good luck to ya. Lyle
  15. What a neat honor for your parent to beable to stand up for your son and his new wife. I am sure they enjoyed it.
  16. http://aerobourne.com/motorcycletrailerindex9.htm go to this address it has a list of web addresses for many different trailers
  17. Lewis I love the trike and the GW except for the position of the legs which fold back except when you put your legs on the highway pegs. I am not sure about Vogel as my wife has 1 more year to work and it starts during that time. I may come alone if I have the chance I just dont know yet. We are planning on going to the Skid In on the trike with a stop first about an hour from the dragon, where my sister-in-law lives and then another stop in Kentucky where a brother-in-law lives. Then on to WV and will have to leave on Sunday so I can be back for a heart test on Wednesday. Are you going to WV? If so will at least see you there You can then meet my wife who is a coona**. Her maiden name is Aucoin and her mothers name was Gremillion. She has put up with me for 37 yrs +, so she has to be special. later Lyle Oops I forgot you met her in Memphis at St Judes 2 years ago. My bad.
  18. Lewis he is probably gonna make some Sauce Piquant or Etoufee with then. Ask the Viet Nameese that moved to South Louisiana, they almost ate all of the brown ones.
  19. http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/ Buddy go to this site and ask them. I recently got a GW trike and am told this is the best site. I also joined GWRRA and thier discussion site is very informative as I have asked several questions and got reasonable answers. I am glad i joined GWRRA as I have met some great people in the 4 meeting I have gone to and have made several rides of 300 miles + and a few shorter ones. The group I am in is a lot like the guys I have met here and you can never get enough friends like these, well almost never.
  20. I for some reason missed this post and just read it today. As an Army, Viet Nam Vet I love to make jokes about the other services, especially the Marines. But we are all one and the jokes are all in fun, even though lots of Marines do take them personaly. Thanks for this story as it brought tears to my eyes and reminded me of how much the brave men and women serving today need our support. Lyle
  21. What oil do most of you use, and what weight and why? Thanks for the info. Lyle
  22. Best thing for chafing is Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Invented in Covington, LA, not too far from where KBRAN lives. Best thing in the world for diaper rash.
  23. yES, WINGSTUFF IS VERY CHEAP, OR BETTER YET THERE PRICES ARE LOW.
  24. Did you push it? I had a blowout on the back tire right in front of a local MC shop and ended up stopping it a quarter of a mile down the road. I was pushing it back and one of the local MC police officers I worked with stopped and he started the bike and walked it back under the power of the bike. Much easier than pushing. I had my wife on back and a loaded pack as we were on our way to New Orleans for our anniversery. It was on a honda shadow that I had b4 my venture. Scared me.
  25. I'm mad, I'm only number 2.
