Don what you need is a Cajun Microwave to cook the pig. Look it up on the internet and have one of the handy people up there make one. You then put the pig and what ever else you want and leave it alone until it is ready. Basically what it is is a large table that has a foot or two drawer and a top with a smaller drawer in it. The bottom part drawer and the entire top are covered with aluminum. The pig or whatever is readied and put in the bottom drawer, put the top over it and put your coals in the top drawer and fire it up. The heat is rediated down into the bottom drawer, which is your cooking area as it is completely closed up.

I had a long ride today, 521 miles total. It was worth it to see the people that came out for Mark. Met Nancy for the first time and wish it had been under different circumstances. Several people spoke of and about Mark and all of them truly loved him, Kbran included. It turned out to be a great day for a ride and for an outdoor memorial. The man will not be forgotten soon, if ever. Till another day Brother.

I rode to and from Vogel with the Dog and at Memphis with him. A great big nice guy. I feel sad that I was unable to take the time to go see him, but that is the nature of our lives, we dont take the time to do what we should in so many cases. Nancy I feel for your loss as well and will think of you and Mark often. My Moter is going through cancer for the 2nd time in 2 and a half years. She lives with me and I sort of know what you are feeling, but I am sure it doesnt match your pain, Kenny thanks for the call. I may be able to go to the memorial if I get my Mom home this week. Probably not on my bike but I will try. Love y'all, Lyle

Mark I hope and pray things get better for you and your family. You are a good dude and I would ride by your side anytime or watch your back for you if you were still in my profession as you once were. Kenny My Mom gets operated on tomorrow and I will be off the computer for a couple of weeks in New Orleans at Ochsner Hospital and I would appreciate a call if things get worse. Thanks Lyle

On the 19th (last night) my wife and I celebrated our 36th anniversery. We were young on our wedding date, I was 18 she was 17. We spent the night taking care of my mother (80 y/o), who just got out of the hospital after 12 days. She spent half here and half in New Orleans. I spent half the time staying overnight with her and others stayed the other time. Now I am sick. This is the first time I have been on the computer in 2 weeks. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She survived colon cancer in October 2003. She had about 20 inches of her large intesttines removed. She has gone through a lot since Feb. 1, 2002. My father died of cancer, her brother died of cancer 13 days later, my 2 older brother died and she had colon cancer. Now this. She is scheduled for a 6 hour operation on March 12th to remove part of her pancreas, part of her small intestines, part of her stomach, part of her douedum (not sure of spelling), and the mass that is wrapped around them and blocking the bile duct. This procedure is called the Whipple, ask a doctor. A guy at Ochsner Hospital is doing it as he is one of 2 gurus there that do it. Not a whole lot anywhere that do it. All of this depends on if it has spread to the blood vessels or other organs. If it has they will just close her up. Give up a minute to pray for her if you will, I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks lyle

I carry all the time. 25 years as a cop. I will retire in 5 months and still carry. I cant stop being a man just because I am retired. If I see someone being killed or robbed or raped I will have to act, no matter where I am, cop or not and I will have a gun with me to do it with. Mostly though it is for the protection of my family and myself. I will not carry to Canada though because I do abide by the law.

Hey man I'm gonna go over there and look for your bell for ya. Shouldn't be too hard to find the right spot. The onlookers I saw cause all of the 2nd and 3rd wrecks. I work across the Mississippi River in East Baton Rouge Parish for the city, but I hope my work mates didn't give ya a ticket did they. Heal Quick, y'all.

Bongobob the last I heard you get 20% just for being there and getting it with no side effects, then for every thing it effects like your eyes (retinopathy) (I had laser surgery on both eyes), if you get neuropathy (I have it in both legs and arms). They initially rated me at 70% then about 5/6 years ago found out I had congestive heart failure and they upped it to 100%. I now get acess to all military bases and campgrounds, to shop in PX and commisaries, my wife as well. I get free medical, optical and dental, for all illnesses and free medicine. I wish I did not have it but since i do I am glad i am a Nam Vet.

As a long time cop I feel that sometimes it is good for youngsters to get in trouble as long as it is not too bad and doesn't mess them up. It shows them how easy it is to get in trouble and the costs of getting out of it. A small fender bender or a ticket is a good example. It can teach them how fast things happen and how easy it will happen. A simple lesson on picking your fiends better, like if you get stopped by the police and you don't do drugs but your supposed friend does and you don't know it. The kid drops his joint on the floorboard and denies it is his so since it is your car you catch the charge. A good friend right? Sometimes kids only learn with a hammer, when you are using it. Thank goodness things worked out so well for him.

I am type 2 and have been for over 20 years. If you are a Viet Nam veteran apply for benefits with the VA. Only type 2 and only if you got it after you came home. I am on insulin and that is a two way street because they want you to lose weight but if you are on insulin weight loss is harder. Many other problems as well. Try to keep up with them but it is hard to do so.

A 28 is a great score at any age and grade in school but even better from a younger person. The Duke program is nation wide and does identify many gifted kids. My nephew scored pretty high as well but he started taking it for granted and did not study as much any more because he figured he had it made. His grade as a senior reflected his lack of further studying and he was unable to go out of state as he wished. Still did good but needed to keep studying. Have to stay behind them every step of the way.

FJR Rider and My Relationship With The VentureRiders

I like what Snarley Bill had to say. "how they gonna know they are wrong unless you tell them". -
Kbran called me right before they walked out of the hospital. I live about 3 miles from it. I could have helped them out. Just glad they are ok. Lyle

Sorry to hear about the bad things Lewis. Archie Manning's oldest son has spinal stenosis and was a real good reciever at Ole Miss and had to quit playing or could possibly become paralyzed. I have it very slightly and had one small operation and have a plate in my neck and have no trouble from it. Hope things get better like that beautiful baby. Lyle

What a great gift Shooter. For me I had my wife, my mother, my 2 sons and thier wifes and my 2 granddaughters all at my house opening presents and eating the fine meal my wife cooked along with the turkey I fried. My wife and I only gave each other small gifts as we give and get all year long. I hope all my biker friends I have met here have a good and safe Christmas and ride safe in the year to come. I also wish for all police officers and military people to be safe in their endeavors in the upcoming year.
-
Thanks Jeff, same to you and yours and all the other people here. I have become a better person because of some of the people that I have met here, both in person and on the net. Ride safe and Merry Christmas to all. Lyle

I've been on here a little over 2 years and have been to Colorado, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and plan on going to Ontario next summer just to meet and ride with the people that I have met on this site and to meet more. Not near as much traveling as our friend (Lowell) from Texas that shows up everywhere but it sure makes things nice when you can pick up a list you printed out from here no matter what state you are in and look up someone that is willing to come help you or just meet you for a cup of coffee. I also know that if something happens to me I will get more prayers than I ever would have before because the people here really care, its not fake with them. I have found that out first hand when I needed a little help when I got to feeling bad in Georgia and also one of the guys I was riding with needed help with a tire on a Sunday for us to get home. If I need to argue with someone, not to say that I dont every now and then, I've been married almost 36 years and we have it down pat. Also I can just make a traffic stop and give someone a ticket. If I am mad at someone from another state then I go on I10 and watch for a plate from there. Just kidding. Thanks to Don and everyone else that steps up here to help.
