What a joy to wake up and see snow pouring down and actually sticking to the ground this morning. We had several inches across southern Louisiana and Mississippi. School was called off because people don't know how to drive in it here. A friend was driving to Florida today and had to turn back because the interstate was closed down about 40 miles from here due to the snow and then an ice storm. I have lived in Louisiana all of my life (55 this month) except 3 years in the army and probably have not seen snow here 10 times. It did snow a lot the year I was sweating in Viet Nam. My wife made me a snowman and froze it in the freezer until I got home. It was ice then. Glad it doesn't happen often but it is fun once in a while. About half of it has melted now. It is supposed to be back in the 70's by Sunday. What weather we have here. Lyle

Ken what is the brand on your trailer and is it all metal Where did you get it and do they have a website? Thanks Lyle

I hope Lewis doesn't mind wearing a used G-String (oops). Give it all to the kids!!!! I didn't get to go this year but my wife (the only female) and I went the first year and were really touched by the experience. We have $20 taken straight out of our account every month to go to St. Jude. Its not that much but it adds up and we dont miss it because we never see it. Just like the hat or pin, I wont miss it since I never saw it.

If I was Lewis i dont know if I would want to wear that G-String (oops) after everyone passed it around.

Cindy, the problem with him being a worthless lawyer is that it gives room for a later appeal. Have ya'll thought about suing civilly. I know you dont want blood money on your daughter, but money is the way to hurt them the worst sometimes and later it could be used for college or whatever. I also know how Dale feels. In over 20 years of police work I worked dog shift most of my career and spent many hour and days in court after working all night. Sometimes several days a week went like that, and people wonder why cops are in bad moods. I wish you and Haylie and the rest of your family all the best and that the scumbag gets his just due in prison. The pecking system there does not like his kind. Lyle

I know how you feel. I worry all the time about having a wreck and my wife getting hurt. That is one of the reasons that I went to a trike a couple of months ago. It doesn't mean we wont get in a wreck but I feel more secure on wet pavement or gravel Squidley tell the truth, you weren't in Baton Rouge, just excited because you were so close. Lyle

In Louisiana they sell beer and liquor just to get us out to vote.

If you don't get full at Lamberts you ain't got an appetite. I still prefer some good south Louisiana seafood, such as boiled crawfish or shrimp and some good boudin. etoufee, crawfish stew, jambalaya or fried catfish. What good food we have here. None better anywhere.

Was great to listen to. Much better than most music kids put out today. I could even understand the words. I would recomend them to others and in fact have sent the link on to others.

Here is a website that says it lists all pull behind trailers in North America. If you are interested in a trailer it keeps you from having to search all over for each one. http://aerobourne.com/motorcycletrailerindex9.htm

Sorry about your loss. Pal. I have to do the same several times in the last few years and it hurts. I love my dogs more than I love most people. They don't complain and are happy to see me when I walk in the door. What better love is there. Lyle

What a great family. I love to see patriotism in families, not enough of them around. Great job. Lyle:cop:

You sure the secretary didn't put it there? Maybe a raise is in order.

If anyone is interested in the Natchez Trace, there is a 4 page article in the November 2008 MotorHome magazine. Might be helpful if you are going on it, or thinking about it. Lyle

My wife and I are planning on coming unless something comes up at the last minute. She was the only wife last year, looks like more will make it this year. Lyle

What a great cause. As a retired LEO I cry everytime I read about one killed in the line of duty. Both of my sons are now cops and I worry about them. Thanks for riding. Lyle

Just got my email service back a little while ago (was out 25 days) and am checking back in to see how things are going. I had to change my email from cox to ATT as cox was jacking us around. I also got rid of cox cable and am switching to Direct TV. I also got an estimate from my insurance man and they said that my damage to my house was around $25,000.00. Most of it was roof damage so not too bad as we will not have to move out or use ECK'S kind offer to store anything while the work is going on. It is good to be back and catch up on some of the news and gossip. Lyle

I just 10 minutes ago got back on line from the huricane. This is the first place I looked and I am making a pledge of $100.00 in my mothers memory, who passed away from cancer on Aug. 18, 2008. Squidley or Lewis or someone running this email me with your address and i will put a check in the mail tomorrow. My new address is brscooter@att.net I got rid of Cox as they kept jacking us around. I also may be able to make the ride but I am not sure yet. Lyle

If you want a real cooker, look up Cajun Microwave on the net and look at some of them. They are great, cooks a lot, and can be made by handy people.

Hi! I am at my son's washing clothes and took a look in here to see how evryone is doing. I thank you all for your concern, especially ECK, who has gone far past the normal (OH, that explains it) person wih his offer . Our living room took a real hit with the pecan tree and we need new struts in the attic, new roof, new soffet and new fascia in areas. Need the inside of the room fixed as it cracked the ceiling in a couple of places and then painted. After all of the outside work they can do the electical work and hopefully get the utility company to hook us back up. Sounds like at least a month. Hopefully that is all. I am very thankful that myself and family are all OK. That is most important. Eck I am just kidding friend and your offer means more to me than I can ever express. If you ever need anything, just let me know and I will do whatever I can. Thanks Lyle

This is Lyle Johnson's (BRScooter) son. We just went through a devastating hurricane here in Baton Rouge. He had a huge pecan tree fall on his living room roof while he was in the room. However, the tree damaged the exterior of the residence but it did not come through the roof. Nearly 100% of Baton Rouge is without power and he most likely will not have lights for 3 to 4 weeks. He & all of his family are safe, but hot & tired. As soon as he gets back online, he will be back communicating with ya'll.
