    i would have to conclude that prices are a major factor with the motorcycles. you can buy a small car for less than a large motor cycle, that gets about the same mileage.( chevy aveo) $10,800 in '08,with 40+ mpg..and with this economy, many would need to go with the car.. just my thoughts.:smile11:

    before ordering; check out : DENNIS KIRK.com . they have the stattor for 132.++.. also check with JC WHITTNEY (same price) we put 1 of them in to my 83 while at cody this year and i am very impressed with it it seems better than the original one to me..

    i used to do it a lot.. never had a problem.. but i guess that it was because my stator were bad for a long time.. probably cause my stator was only runnin on 2 of the 3 legs that it had.. i would have to jump it if i let it set for a few days.. if i used it every day or 2 it was fine.. i didnt really know that it was bad..

    i can relate to that Charlie.. had to go out on the ponds to check my minnow traps.. on the one pond I was breakin the ice with the boat.. it were 19 degrees during the nite.. was closer to 30 when i left to go out..

    there were 2 of us that needed them out there.. starvin marvins went out on the way there from canada, and mine turned out to be the stattor rather than the regulator as we figgured..
