I have had both... I sold the Tour Deluxe mainly because I could not keep both and my wife enjoyed the ride and comfort of the second seat much better. As for what I think about the difference, I loved the ride and versitility of the TD but in my case I think the RSV actually handled a little better at slower speeds than the TD. As far as comfort, mt TD had a Mustang seat with back rest and the RSV has factory with add on back rest... .....by a minute amount, I lked the venture seat but the mustang backrest set up just a little bit. IMHO

I am not one to really complain about service but I really got a kick out of this exchange. I found a place that had two sets of pads for the front and one set for the back EBC Sintered pads. (because that is what I want!) for $86.00 shipped. Having not heard of this place before I decided to shoot a simple email to their customer service (which is what they said to do on their website to ask any question) and ask a simple shipping question. Here is the exchange simplified for reading... I will not post the company name but they claim to be one of the largest suppliers of parts in the country. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ To: customer service MONDAY Dec 17, 2012 9:52 am Subj: brake pads If I ordered EBC brake pads today, when should they ship? -------------------------------------------------------- To (TDunc) TUESDAY Dec 18, 2012 1:34pm Subj RE: brake pads Could you please provide your order number so I can better assist you? -------------------------------------------------------- To: customer service Dec 18, 2012 1:51 pm Subj RE: brake pads Never Mind.. The original question was MONDAY 12/17 @ 9:52am: "If I ordered ebc brake pads today, when should they ship?" Original order WOULD have benn for $86.00 worth of pads. I was asking for an approximate ship date? See Below for original e-mail. -------------------------------------------------------- TO: (Tdunc) WEDNESDAY Dec 19th 1:29pm subject ...... All orders take 1-4 business days to ship out. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact me. Thank you --------------------------------------------------------- TO: Customer service @ __________________- Thank you but I have already asked the same question, received an answer, placed an order and received the product on my doorstep in the time it has taken you to answer one simple question. Thank you very much for your time and Thank you tremendously for the laugh you provided by a company that 1) can't answer a simple question and 2) does not care that they made a mistake and never tried to save the business.. Good luck in the future sir. TDunc............... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was good for a laugh for me...... Or am I being a scrooge!

I'm a cheapy.... Bought these from Northern tools and took them out of the rubber housing and mounted them in the holders. IMHO - They do what they are supposed to do...Get me seen. Two golfing friends, retired local police officers, work for Advanced Auto, one is a counter worker and the other is the PDQ driver...... I can't wait to see what they have to say. I am not sure about AA's Gun Rule.

OK, how screwed am I? (hold that thought) I was taking the tank off to run wire for the HID headlight last night. I did the normal thing of attempting to break the seal from the brass tube and the carburetor hose like I've done so many times before. As I was putting things back together (in the daylight) today, I realized the brass tube is sticking in the end of the hose. SOOOO. 1) Is the brass tube just pressed into the petcock or brazed somehow? 2) anyone know of a fix to keep this from happening again in the future? 3) Any Ideas? Signed Two steps forward and one step back!

The thing that is bothersome to me... On our bikes with its limited ground plane capability, what you put in the trunk has an effect. For the most part, neglagible for 27 Mhz. but for the perfectionist part of me and knowing what RF can do, It still bothers me. Had the same issue at 440Mhz on my old Surburban. Kept jumping all around and I never found out the reason. Two different antennas and two different radios.... Solved the problem by buying a new suburban.... Go figure.
-
I am so glad that I have never had any discussions on the therotical versus pratical experiences of whether the internal impedance of a particular transmitter can or will have any effect on the amount of forward/refected/reverse rf sent to an antenna device and whether or not you can swap radios and have the same swr on each. I did, however, watch a ham club spend alot of time debating this and to no end. (Kinda like the old Dan Quail thing of tomato - tomato) If I may.. IMHO - you can not get exactly the same swr reading even on the same radio because of numerous factors that CAN change the characteristics each time you key the mic. Having said that. The difference is usually not large enough to worry about.(especially at 27Mhz) I use one radio to check an antenna on another radio all the time. It is a good "look see" tool. Would I use a radio that has a built in SWR meter? Yes if it was the only thing I could use for a look see but not if I could borrow an SWR meter that is a little better quailty from someone . Will it suffice to let me know if it is way off? Yes. Again just in my humble opinion. EDIT. See the above post too.. I was typing mine as he was doing his...Good Post.

We2.... I still ride mine from time to time. Redoing Carb right now. I'm 250pds and it will pull me up the hill in my driveway with no problem. We still joke today that my mom drove it up the garage wall not once but twice. Never bent the forks, bent the fork bolt both times. ......ummmm no, she will not ride the thing any more. I think her being 86 has something to do with it. -

Of course, the last one I got was actually my wife planning a vacation without me.....(just kidding) I still just can not believe how many people prey on others. I must believe that there is a special Hell for people like this. Im stopping my soapbox before it gets the best of me..... BTW... My wife and I were talking about the BC area yesterday. I have been to Victoria and to the Hurricane Ridge over in Port Angeles WA and thoroughly enjoyed the views and county. Need to plan a trip SilvrT dont we?
