  1. Stability of the trailer is what I was told the increase is for. The tongue that comes with the Tag-along trailer is 4', I extended to 7' and it is extremely stable. The added length also quieted down the reverb from the exhaust off the bike. Hope this helps. I changed to 2"X2"X1/8" wall tubing, also had to change hitch to one made for 2" tube.
  2. Think I found problems. Bearings were too tight, tire pressures were off, and the biggest problem was rear shock had leaked air down to about 5 #. Greased and reset bearings, adjusted tire pressures, and aired up rear shock to about 40#, rides pretty smooth now.
  3. Thought about the plugs. Just had carbs synced abou a month ago. Will have to check balance on tires.
  4. Ain't afraid of the camera there is she? Hope things get better, she'll grow outta some of it. Yeah rite...... I wouldn't worry to much until she starts getting a bowl and the milk:rotfl:
  5. I couldn't force myself to pay the money for one of the big name boxes when most are built by three or four companies that build others, just another name put on them. I bought a Clarke 42'' top & bottom boxes w/roller bearings, bells and whistles, went back later and bought side cabinet for it, alltogether have about $900.00 in it. Been rolled, hauled, etc... all over W.Tn. for past 10 yrs. with no problems. Got it at Rural King. Might look at a Tractor Supply Company see what they got.
  6. Pulled trailer for first long distance the other day. Noticed at about 65-70 mph had a vibration in bike. Gone through bearings, it is a HF trailer. Not real sure if it ain't in the engine, seemed to do it worse when pulling a grade. What do ya'll think problem might be. Had about 25# tongue wieght.
  7. Glad ya'll got good news. It seems to be far and in between getting anything but bad lately. will keep praying for ya.

  18. Sounds like it fits in here. Went on an adVENTURE. Remember it ain't the destination, it the adventure of getting there:smile5:
  19. I called my local dealer yesterday to ask about a problem I'm having on the bike. When I get up to cruising speed is when it is most noticeable, 70 mph, set cruise it feels like it has a miss or is trying to flood. Thought it might be a plug not firing but all pipes are hot. The dealer told me they have been having alot of this happening. It stems from the ethanol enhanced gasoline we now have to use. The gas is eating up the gaskets and rubbers in the carbs. Will have to have carbs rebuilt 5000 miles. At least its under warranty:bang head:. Big brother sure knows how to stick to the people. The ethanol dries out rubber and cracks and comes apart screwing everything up. Asked him what can we do to prevent this from happening again, he said he wasn't sure, have to add something with lubricity every now and then might help.Just thought everyone might want to know.
  20. Hope the weather cooperates. have fun:thumbsup2:

  23. Mine doing the same thing, fuel mileage I thought was low, only getting about 30-32 mpg.Has a little vibration thought that might be from still running stock tires. Will have to check this out. Thanks for the post and the info. WHAT A SITE, WELL WORTH THE MEMBERSHIP!!!!!!!
  24. Prayers sent, hope this ain't another "I didn't see them incidents"
  25. Hope you get healed up real soon:bawling:. As to the ABS it would have been very ineffective, according to what I have read and understand of the set up. It is considered about useless on wet pavement. The only thing that will help in wet conditions is the skill the driver has with his/ her machine:thumbsup2:
