  1. Thanks Bubber! Just to clarify I don't need the Baron's 1 1/2" risers, I need the stock riser that bolts on to the triple tree and the handlebars sit in.
  2. There was some talk at the beginning of this thread about changing to Flanders bars. I'm really not feeling the love for the dresser style bars that come on these bikes. Has anybody tried going to a beach style bar? I have mine tilted down on the low side anyway and those look more comfortable to me.
  3. I appreciate the offer Gunk, but I think it may be cheaper for me to buy a new bike than to get yours shipped to me. LOL
  4. Great, and I'll be happy to pay for them. Just let me know. Thanks!
  5. Gonna give this one just one bump. Anybody?
  6. A stock handlebar riser for a 2nd Gen? I decided to remove the 2" risers on mine because the throttle cables were binding and the threads on one of the stock risers is pretty well stripped. I'll be happy to pay. I've checked ebay, but would rather buy from someone here if they have them. Thanks!
  7. Hey, I've been trying to call you, but it keeps breaking up. LOL
  8. Yep, put risers on first thing but I've got really stubby arms. LOL I'll see if I can locate that pin so I can move them. Anybody got a pic of it?
  9. I've been moving my handlebars around some trying to find the most comfortable position for me. I think I finally got there by rotating them down toward the tank quiet a bit. All is good, but the turn signals, cruise control stuff, etc are now pointing down too much. I've tried loosening them to rotate them up a bit, but they don't seem to want to move. Can these be rotated around and if so, what am I missing?
  10. I was having the same problem with my bike and electrical contact cleaner and WD-40 didn't help on mine. I bought some dry graphite powder at Advance and used it. Took care of the problem. I'll probably have to do it again in a few months, but no biggie to do it.
  11. Thanks for all the responses. It'll probably be next week before I have time to tackle it. Does anyone have any pics of what I'm trying to get at with the 10mm socket and a "U" joint? If I don't have to pull the lowers off, I'd really rather not. Thanks.
  12. Is there a trick for getting to the air filters? I need to change the filters, but so far I haven't been able to figure out how to get to them.
  13. Nice find buddy. One of the side panels was missing the rubber strap on my 86. I went to Lowe's and picked up some of the industrial strength velcro and used that for the panel. It held just fine.
  14. I buy mine from a local independent dealer.
  15. If the green light ain't on, I haven't got to 5th yet. If the green light is on, then I probably should have stayed in 4th.
  16. Like Randy said, the Firehouse is pretty good, but we have a LOT of better places around here to eat. If you want BBQ, you really can't beat the Ridgewood in this area. If have any questions about things to do in this area, feel free to shoot me an IM or call me (my number's in my profile). Good luck and have fun.
  17. I posted on the other thread, but just in case I would like 2 of the 3 1/2" patches. Thanks!
  18. Hey, if you decide to do another patch order anytime please grab me two of the small 3 1/2 in size. Just let me know when you need the money and how much. Thanks!
  19. I've got one I'll give away too. It's a Metzler 880 front tire the PO gave me when I bought my bike. Looks like it's got about 3/4 tread left, he changed the tires last summer before heading out on a long trip. I'm going to be switching to E3's next spring, so I won't be needing this one. All you have to do is figure out a way to come get it and it's yours (I'll even throw in a beer or something for the trouble).
  20. Got my patches yesterday. Very nice!! Thanks.
  21. The Firesticks are a good option, but with the paint, etc on my bike I really like the look of silver antennas. Has anyone heard of a good shorter option in chrome or silver?
  22. Mine have been touching the heat shields on the pipes for about 2000 miles so far and no issues. I wouldn't worry about it.
  23. I like the old school look of the Indians, even that big ol' front fender. To me it just say's "American Classic". I'll never be able to afford one, but I would love to see a full dress Indian tourer.
  24. So which one do you buy? And is it really "plug and play"? I don't want to mess with having to wire a second switch.
  25. I shaved the seat on my 1st Gen myself. Just peel back the cover and start shaving and reshaping. I've heard an electric knife works best, but I didn't have one of those so I used a bread knife. I was able to lower the seating portion of the seat over 3" which helped a lot. I went back in a few days later and narrowed the front portion of the seat where your legs go over and that helped more than anything else. The funny thing is the seat was more comfortable after I shaved it than it was before I started. Go slow and you'll do fine with it.
