Battery ... I think
BradT replied to dunvilsteev's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I assume the bike is new to you, so did you do anything to it when you got it (plugs, battery ? ) How many miles on it. Did it crank over or just click, when trying to start it ? After chargeing the battery did crank and how long before the battery drained ? I would assume it may be original battery. IF so replace it ! As for the spark, this normally means something was turned on, some power was being drawn from something, maybe the key was on when you connected the charger. LEt us know how it goes. There is quite a few of us around. BRad -
Probably none ! Brad

Congrats to the two of you. I am sure you will love it as well. Hope to see (meet) you at Maintenace day or the international ride. Brad

Glad to hear. It rained all day here, but I am not ready anyway. Curious is the windshield too tall ? Did you get the goodies on the bike yet ? Did you need us young fellows to come down and work your tools again BRad

Ours isn't either but at least in places we are starting to see it. Brad

This is how I get mine off. 3/8" drive are too big to fit. I will have to take a look as I am not sure what you were talking about ? Wait till you have to put the screw back on :rotf:Don't over tighten or it will pull the stud out of the seat, too loose and when you sit on the seat the nut is loose and will fall off. Brad

Checked a couple at 50-60,000 miles and they were still within specs. I would not worry too much about them. Not sure what the recomended time to check them is. Brad

I would guess a Battery problem. Check the battery cables for Corrosion/contact. Also check the frame end of the negative. Did you keep the battery charged all winter ?? You could always run the jumper wire on the Ignition and put a switch in and hide it under the seat, this would help you figure out which one. Also a good backup, for the just in case. Brad

WHen we ship our products over the ocena some of them sit on the deck. I believe they are sprayed with something to protect the electrical and the paint. Our Brazilian office is now shrink wrapping them. That Salt air will destroy everything Chrome, electrical, paint etc... Brad

Bike Dead Need Help fast!
BradT replied to SaltyDawg's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Glad to hear it is a relatively cheap fix. Brad -
Thanks Just have to roll the bike out of garage into the driveway. Snowbanks are even larger than the bike still. BRad

I too like the full instrumentation, and get rid of the cassette. A little larger rear speakers would be great for a little more base. Other than that I am fairly happy with the bike, a little more power would be great but not really needed on a big bike. I do not need to race Wings or Crotch rockets. What I think would be real nice is that they take a few minutes out of there busy schedule and take a peak in here and ask the question. Then they can hear it for themselves. (asking a little much Eh !) Brad

I doubt it will be too soon. :rotf:Charlie does, so why would Redneck not ? Brad
