  2. Have you been on the Road-star web sight(roadstarclinic.com)? They have a lot of good answers there. I had similar problems on my 2000 Road-star also and went to the heavier gauge(I think original size was 6gauge and went to 4gauge) for BOTH + & - & solenoid cables. You can get aftermarket ones or you can make your own like I did. I also went with a Odyssey PC545 gel battery. Even with really cold weather(I ride mine till it snows) you can try to start but if it won't just hold starter button and it will. Has a great sort of deep cycle power storage(according to dealer)Haven't really no problems since! Hope this helps
  3. Try this link too look at pictures I took at MD 2011 If you look close you may see Pond Monster http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/nn10/sleepy2_2008
  4. Carl I should be at your house by 7:45 at the latest. Wayne hope your daughter is fine!!!
  5. I guess I should have said that the old tire did not have HARLEY on the sidewall but he said it was the size of the HARLEY and not my Road star. The rotor was grooved enough that I planed to change but ran out of time because of all the overtime. Luckily I got a used rotor otherwise it would have cost a couple hundred more for new and would have had to wait to get one.(would have not been able to go to MD this weekend) They recommend replacing both tire and tube.
  6. According to write ups I've read it is OK to put tube in tubless but not sure what old tire was just that it was HARLEY and new tire is radial(it had tube in old tire also as have wire spoke rims on bike)
  7. Had flat tire morning after Marcarl's M&G on Sun. morning when I woke up.Called around to see who could put on tire in as quick of time as possible .Went to ZDENO Cycle in Kitchener Ont. Got it on lift and they said my rotor was really worn so \i said ok and had a used one from a wreck put on with new pads.Went with Metszler again. Was also told that the tire I had on was a HARLEY tire???????SO! tire$206 tire tax $5.84 instal $60 rotor $150 instal $20 pads $35 instal $30 tube $25 TOTAL SHOCK $600.97 Phantom Wife says that is budget for this year! Still going to MD this weekend!!!!!!!
  8. Sorry about the name mix up guess I didn't hear right!!!!!
  9. Had a great time! Thanks Marka & Carl:You_Rock_Emoticon: for the food/ hospitality and ride to restaurant! ( was a little hairy on that one bend tho)Great to meet Annie & Alan / Big Tom & Amy / Bob & Becky again and all the rest! Caught a light rain after I left Gas station in Paris. Then headlight / driving light fuse BLEW had to use signal to see side of road so I could pull off road.Fixed that then must have picked up NAIL on side of road as when I went to garage this morning to check out fuse problem I FOUND A FLAT TIRE with nail.@#$%&(^ Now have to load bike on trailer:mytruck: so I can get it fixed for weekend! Can someone say MONEY_PIT:sign **** happens:

  11. Thanks Freebird & BIGTOM for all your help!!!! Must have lucked out on a cancellation or something that I got a room.Looking forward to the trip.
  12. I have(before accident) 87 Venture and had bulbs changed to I think I put in 57bulbs That's what my lights take(have turn and brake lights) in my trailer.I think I had sort of the same problem. So I bought the Led trailer tail-light kit--very bright and show up great(have at least 20-30 lights in there) and had no problems after--worked just fine. I have Road-star now and no problems now with it. Didn't have to put any resistors at all. Hope this helps.
  13. Thanks BIG TOM For your help and I can wait to get my reduction when I get there.
  14. $89 NOT $64 Say's that is best rate I can have because of name change So just made reservations for Maintenance Day at Quality Inn (Comfort Inn) anyways. Guess I should have just made reservation and just cancel if I didn't end up going
  15. Sport biker at my work got caught at 160klm/hr in 50klm/hr zone outside work 2 weeks ago.(Ingersoll Ont.) Guy many years ago hit car going into parking lot at that speed and died on impact-landed 400 feet from bike which was in-bedded in car. DUMB! Lessons never seem to be learned.
  16. Very nice looking trike!Looking forward to meeting you!
  17. First are you going to MD June 4th in Ohio and will they be done by then? I could pick mine up then. Or price on 9" and shipping to N4S 8T9 Ontario Canada? Payment by Pay Pal?How to pay?
  18. Canada is the same for importing wooden items. My friend inherited an antique Triumph with sidecar (made of wood) and it was confiscated at customs and he now has to rebuild with Canadian wood. Not sure if the same would happen if traveling thru the country or not.
  19. Had an off and on rainy ride from Woodstock Ont. to Fort Erie this morning.Went to Motorcycle Swap Meet---mostly Harley Davidson stuff(buying parts lost?????) but bought set of 3 leather small bags to fit between bars and windshield on my Road-star for my trip(hopefully to Maintanance Day) and Out Back coats for the Phantom Wife and I.Stopped by Wizard765's place but he wasn't home so had coffee at Tim Hortons and drove to MarCarl's and visited for a while before riding home still in the rain. Luckily I had tonight off or it would have been a lllooonnnnggg night. Was not a bad ride at all very refreshing.

  23. Could you give me a quote on clutch-cable/push throttle and pull throttle cables for 2000 Yamaha Road star Silverado? If you could get aftermarket braided covered what would be cost ?Priced ones from Old Bike Barn for Motion Pro Armor Coat SST and Big Bike and they were around roughly $75 --$100.Figured if I could pick up at Maintenance Day I could keep with me as spares. Thanks inadvance
  24. Would a grade8 bolt be a better replacement as they are supposed to take a lot bigger side load than grade5.
