  1. Have been out a few times and the voltage has not gone over 13.5v. I have tried ridding around 60 to 70klms to get the revs up but volts haven't gone up ,maybe 13.6v once or twice!
  2. I bought some Prestone antifreeze that said was compatible with Aluminum and Cast Iron but didn't get any positive response about using it so bought from dealer who got this at a good price and I paid $13can for it! Bought 3! Checked all fluids and topped them up,started bike and meter showed 13.7v at idle and increased with throttle so hopefully take for test run tomorrow and my charging problems are solved!
  3. What @N3FOL said! You can still keep intuch with everyone here even if you don't ride anymore!
  4. Haven't had much time this past week as Nephew passed away from liver and pancreas problems he had been battling for a few years, he did pass peacefully though! Was able to pick up some Antefreeze the other day(boy has it gone up)from dealer! One had it at $20 per liter and other was $13 per liter (Ipone) Have all cooling drains tightened up and am ready to fill with Antifreeze but will triple check everything first. Also ready to install new Voltage Regulator, oil filter then fill with oil.
  5. I was just wondering, as it does say it's usable in aluminum and cast iron! I have been using Honda antifreeze the last few times with no problems then I saw the Prestone fluid while grocery shopping in Walmart. I know about what shouldn't e in it, like silica and additives!
  6. was wondering if this would be usable in my 2012RSV or do I have to go to dealer?
  7. @Marcarl I thought so too!
  8. Finally figured how to get clamp opened to get wires out! Was a real pain disconnecting tha small 2 wire plug that had to come out with Stator!
  9. Got Stator cover 1 off and this is picture of Stator! Now to clean off gasket and then replace Stator!
  10. Pictures of antifreeze being soaked up on bike table and one of dirty wires! Still trying to get them loose from clamp then I can pull them out to remove Stator! Had to pickup son's rototiller as he needs it for weekend if weather is good!
  11. Yes it is getting exciting! Should have realized that the pressure behind the plug would want to go somewhere! Should have put the covers on until I had to put exhaust back on! Picked up tube of RTV and blue Lock Tite for the rubber plugs in Stator!(going to try and vacuum seal them after use as am hoping them to last without hardening as I don't use them enough)
  12. Been busy all day today and finnaly went out to do some more work on bike and now I have to add putting Antifreeze in when I'm done with Stator! Took off engine fins off to remove exhaust and didn't put it back on and freeze plug fell out sometime and drained Antifreeze! Wiped up the mess, dried off tools and wiped down drain hoses that went thru frame so I have a little more room to try tomorrow to get wires out so I can get Stator out!
  13. before and after cover2 and piece behind it
  14. Came back in from garage around9pm after I took out overflow tank to get better access to wiring, pulled bolt holding wiring to drive-shaft housing but having hard time figuring how it is holding wires, saw pictures of this area but can't find it yet! Cleaned all crud off of Cover2 and scraped off old gasket. Cleaned some of the frame and wires ,also cleaned some of the oil pan also! Finally came in as back can't do long stints like I used to,even with bike on table about 24 to 30in off the ground! At least I'm not on the ground doing this! Have to take dog to groomers tomorrow so won't get much done tomorrow but will try to do what I can!
  15. Got garage organized enough to have more than enough room and places to put parts on when dismantling what I need to take off! Punched holes in small box to hold bolts in order of disassembly! After taking farthest chrome part(half moon shaped) from cover2 looks like there was a small leak somewhere as there is a LOT of crud on it and everything under bike! Have oil drained, exhaust disconnected, all bolts except one each cover till ready to take off and also make sure all oil is drained then will try to clean all crud from oil pan, frame ,hoses and wires before I get too far!
  16. Stator,Voltage Regulator and gasket dropped off by Purolator today ! Still organizing garage while working on sons lawnmower! Also got neighbors lawn cut as she is at new home and her old one is for sale! Probably start working on bike in a couple days!!
  17. Last couple days getting around to cleaning and reorganizing garage for more access to work on bike on table lift. Too hard to lay on ground and get up every time I need something!(usually right after I get down) Newest email after reorder says sometime next week! Going to start getting bike ready today or tomorrow so I'll be able to fix when parts come in!
  18. Got an e-mail last night about the parts I ordered! I was informed that the Stator I ordered was not available and DID NOT fit my bike like it said in the catalog so they gave me the right number for the one that does fit my bike! It will be $25 more! So now it will be next week before they arrive!

  20. @RDawsonthanks for offer but I just found one at dealer locally that had one in-stock! Just waiting for other parts!
  21. @N3FOL Picked up a gasket today for$12can today from dealer that had one in-stock. Thanks for your offer anyways! Now just have to wait for parts to show up!
  22. @N3FOL Yes it is! It is our HST(Federal tax) and PST(Provincial tax)which we pay on all purchases except food which is PST only! So when I bought my parts it cost me $48can in tax.
  23. @RDawsonThanks for the information and offer, have a couple more dealers to try yet! Probably just use some gasket material I have leftover from gasket I made for clutch cover last fall to save time!
  24. @N3FOL OEM parts from Yamaha dealer is $585can + 13%tax for the Stator, which is on back-order! Almost $300can +13%tax for the Voltage Regulator(which is available) so much better deal with a part that people say is better!
  25. @N3FOLyes I finally stopped procrastinated and on the way to fix, miss ridding but things were always coming up that had to take care of first!
