  1. @N3FOLI agree the V-twin has power! It was mostly the belt drive as I had NO luck with my Road Star 1600 (2000 year) that went thru 3 belts in season and a half at over $800 can each time (parts and labor)was glad to get back on a 2012 Venture that year. As for keeping eye open for a newer one for keeping on good side of the boss ,I think I ALWAYS do but doesn't seem to help over the past 47 years so have NO expectations on any change in the future( was told back when I got this one as my future retirement bike)
  2. Sorry for the luck your having! Get healed up and ride !
  3. Would have thought of buying the new Venture but price in Canada was outrageous! Wouldn't be able to persuade Phantom Wife! Liked power( got to demo it at New York Rally when it came out!Dealer had one in stock for us to try!) Style was good, overall good bike! Mostly didn't like belt drive and V-twin!
  4. @saddlebumI was thinking same thing if I was modifying! Easier to make one than modify then if doesn't work then I can take it back! But it doesn't look like it might not have enough room to fit wheel in place! Will have to see after I get my tractors ready for winter!
  5. Son got his hub replaced $550 after work and hub changed! Car feels much better!
  6. @N3FOLOnly taking back if I don't modify! It is just an option I was thinking of doing!
  7. @N3FOL I agree and we both checked U-Tube and car forum and alot of them had hard time getting hub off. One guy even used oxy/acceteline torches but no luck! @Marcarls tool did work to get hub loosened up but would have taken more parts to take off (spline of front wheel drive was stopping it from comming off) and was worried about getting $220can part to line up. If hub remover from Canadian Tire would have fit we could have gotten it out with slide hammer. Taking to mechanic I know and will cost $100 labor and $200 parts to replace (dropping off tonight after son gets off work) get done Thursday. Son will take other part back to get money back. (Mechanic would put part on but no warranty, his part would have 2 years 40,000klm.)
  8. @saddlebumdon't think mine will fit as picture shows and also distance from front to back mount looks too short to hold tire. Might think about modification to make fit or see if I can get money back. Still have box and receipt. They are pretty good at exchange!
  9. @N3FOLthere is nothing in instructions for that but might be for mounting in trailer! Could also use to stabilize! Would probably only use to check oil levels and maybe change oil!
  10. First thing @Marcarlaasked was "where's your buddy Ben?" Said probably home! What I'm messaging for is you said you had a bike stand. Is yours from Princess Auto? If yes and looks like my pictures What holes and position do you have yours set?
  11. Rode to @Marcarls yesterday to take back the tools I borrowed to try and fix my son's car! Got hub part way out but kept catching on drive axle and son was afraid that we wouldn't be able to get back in properly so he decided that he is going to take to mechanic to replace! Myself I would have just kept going but what you going to do! At least everything should come out easily for who ever does it! It was 4deg cel when I left but seemed a lot warmer! Good thing for leather chips!! Was another good visit with @Marcarl !Was first time I went there and didn't go to Princes Auto! Basically had time limit of having to be home by 4.
  12. Should have remembered Marca's soup as I did have 2 bowls of it!!
  13. Went for 150kl ride(round trip)yesterday and to meet up with @saddlebum at @Marcarl and picked up his tool for removing wheel hub that we will try on son's car. Around 8cel in morning and got to 17cel by time I got home around 5pm.
  14. @N3FOL@N3FOLN3FOL did phone around to all places I could think of that sell and lend tools and alot do not rent anymore and ones that did didn't have both parts needed. Canadian Tire had slide hammer but had no adapter to rent (had to buy and no return) didn't fit hub so had to return.
  15. Thanks guys! Enjoyed all the compliments and the screems from quite a few kids!!
  16. 98 kids showed up. Many screaming. Lots of compliments!

  18. @Marcarlsaw your reply about a tool to remove wheel hubs. Would it happen to be a slide hammer tool with adapter that bolts onto hub? Would it be possible to borrow it when I come down on Saturday If you could check to see if the gap is able to fit on a 4 1/4(5x114.3mm)
  19. Dealer got me right bulb and works properly now!!
  20. @N3FOL couldn't get son's wheel bearing done as hub would NOT come out no matter what we tried! Guess he asked a fellow worker who has neighbor mechanic to see if he would do it. Otherwise he is looking around for someone in town. Still have to get back working on tractor as fuel tank is NOT leaking anymore so another thing fixed! Changed bike blinker bulb finally and it is the right bulb finally! Got around to also make wife happy and got Halloween decorations up!
  21. Was out yesterday(most of the day getting parts for tractor and the right turn signal bulb for bike) Got home just before it down poured for 10 mins . Decided to change out old Stebel horn that wasn't working right for another of same brand that seems to work great but when I loosened bolt holding it I thought I heard a sound like a nut falling so decided to check inside clutch cover(dumb idea) gasket was broken so had to replace it(dealer was closed[would have had to order one] went to Canadian Tire and bought gasket paper and decide to make one until I can get one delivered! Have to go out today and double check my work. Have to wait till later as son is coming over to change wheel bearing on his car!(need my garage and tools)
  22. Went to dealer yesterday and got the parts gut that knows more! He looked up the part number and said it was 1 number off and the one the other guy ordered for me was for the rear turn signal! Should come in a couple more days! Said they will text me(didn't first time) now that they have my cell phone number instead of home number!
  23. @N3FOLgas tank leak was solved also! took plastic welder I have and heated and smoothed out seam and also added some plastic(tank is plastic) to make sure the seam is sealed! Also it looked like gas was backing out the tube at bottom fitting of tank and was a little cocked and clamp wouldn't seal so I put another new gas line with a 1"piece of a bigger fuel line then put on clamp and that seems to have sealed it! Routing fuel line so there is no sideways tension on fitting also. Getting a lot of ridding going for parts etc lately. Thanks for all the advice!
  24. No number on bulb! Looks like same bulb in picture but picture doesn't show other side to see if another pin. Original has 3 equal distance around and new bulb has 2 pins in same position as original (missing 1 pin)Haven't changed it yet as ridding around and working on tractor but took it out of box right now to replace but it looks like only 1 filament inside and I think it should have 2 because it is a marker lite and flasher. Will check tomorrow! Number on box is the same as Partzilla tho!
