Around the corner at Pioneer motorsports, they even had one in stock!! Any tire dealer should be able to order one for you. I'm mounting a rear tire on the front of mine...

It probably would if I shipped it from the States, but luckily I'm going to Kitchener Ontario this weekend for Marcarl's March Madness M&E. It will be in a document mailer along with a length of new hose if you want to go that route...

Yah! The elbow type pieces on the left and right are called the lower fairings ahn have vents for the knees. The center piece on the MK1's is a thin "fin" and connects those 2 pieces. The MK2 had a larger "chin" that can be installed on the MK1 but you need the left and right engine crash bars from a MK2 as well! There was an aftermarket chrome "Chin" that instaled on the MK1's and had 2 lights on them. They are getting scarce and are usually in fair to poor shape. Check my photo album for pictures of that chin. All of these items come up on fleabay somewhat often except the Markland (I think) chin, those you see maybe every other month or less...

I sometimes use a little heat but then quench it with penetrating oil which will fairly rapidly cool it. I think the thermal shock may blast the bond a little. I have had some siezed screws come out like they were already loose with this procedure, yet others have little or no effest... As mentioned, just enough heat to soften the loctite but yes the screw does expand a little and make it slightly tighter. Another tip, if the screw comes out tight, keep turning out then turn back in a little at a time to minimize thread damage...

Not your daddy's Tire question. TIRE SIZES
bongobobny replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
Yah! I was gong to suggest either stiffening your rear suspension with a progressive spring or fabricating a spacer to keep your suspension at the same softness as it is now... -

Yes the riding position is more comfortable, but I actually found then to be a tad too wide but got used to it in no time. I find the 1st gen better handling IMHO but that's just for me...

Yes, but it WILL be worth it!!!

Yup!! Tim is right on! It takes a special breed to own a collector worthy MC and the VR is definately in that category!! But, if you are willing and able, you will be hard pressed to find a better bike for the money!! Besides that, this site has a lot of talent and are more than willing to help you out!!

Yah! find a spare plug, pull the wire and hook it up to the plug. Rest the plug against any good ground, turn the key and crank the engine and see if you have spark at all. I'm betting it's carbeuration problems. A half can of seafoam into a tank of gas and a good ride may bring things back to normal. Plan on changing plugs after the seafoam treatment as it will loosen a lot of crud! Yes, you can put the whole can in but plan on seeing a lot of smoke...

Brake upgrade to R1/R6 calipers?
bongobobny replied to kbert777's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yah!! Do yourself a favor and pick up a set of MK2 forks, install progressive springs, and use SS lines and change out your rotors, which you will have to do anyway if you McGuiver adapter plates to fit your MK1 setup. The Electric anti dive units go to a relay triggered by the brake lights, but with new Progressive springs you may not need to hook up the antidive at all...
