I just did a system restore to an earlier date and now all is well...

I kinda like it...

Well, downloaded the latest updates on my netbook, which uses the same OS, and IE still works on it. I tried going to the MS website with Chrome and downloaded IE again but it still didn't fix it. Very strange! Oh well, guess I'm gonna have to invite my computer Wizard over for dinner some time...

saggin rear end
bongobobny replied to Wizard765's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Ahhh! Misunderstood the symptom! Yup, sure sounds like your rear is sagging! The frame issue is particular only to the '83 model. They redesigned the rear shock mount in '84 by reinforcing it...- 20 replies

Yup! I can send you an AAA map as well!! For that matter, I can provide a few other things mentioned about NY like Winery tour maps, etc! Be sure to look us up when you are in the western side of the state! I am retired so I would be glad to give you a tour of the area as you come thru. What month are you coming? Big Tom is putting on his regional rally in August...

No problem, I have Firefox and Chrome as well, but Windows installed an update last night and now IE opens but never finds my home page. It still works fine internally but I can't get onto the internet with it. I use IE as default. Anyone else having this issue???

Maiden Voyage

You may want to consider Gold dot R1 calipers in the front along with the EBC pads. Yes, the SS lines will also make a noticable difference... -
You can save yourself close to 2K by taking the bike directly to Hannigan...

That's scary, I do not speak French but I pretty much understood the whole page!!! Luke, I see by the picture that the '83 you are looking at is a Standard and not a Royale. They are pretty much the same bike EXCEPT for some definately nice creature comforts like the Computer Leveling Air Suspension System (CLASS), AM/FM Cassette and intercom audio system, cruise control, and CB radio (aftermarket accessory for the MK1). These items can be added on relatively easily but you need to either replace your wiring harness or add the additional wiring for these accessories. There are several easily done modifications you can do for riding comfort for you, and for any female passengers you happen to give a ride to!!! When properly running and in proper mechanical shape, the 1st Gen MK1 handles and performs almost like a crotch rocket except it will only hit about 130 mph. A word of warning, you can indeed lift the front wheel off the ground with these which is scary on a 900 lb bike... -
Good Morning faithful readers! With over 10,000 hits I'm impressed, we are being read!! OK onward with today's episode of AS THE WHEELS TURN!!! Bongo has just finished explaining the master plan for Freebird's maintenance day. Several members have added input that will come in very handy for implementing the plan, and others have come up with some interesting, if not downright funny additional items to do to prank our fearless leader! The color pink came up numerous times as well as ladies garments, tin cans, noise makers, certain foul smelling chemicals, and a master plan for a pond fountain and several bottles of bubble bath soap along with food coloring! By the time the meeting was winding down, Bongo had several pages of notes, and many commitments from different members to play a key role in implementing the master plan. Noiw of utmost importance, Bongo stressed, is that Freebird does not have a clue to exactly what is going to happen at any time!!! After the meeting was breaking up, Bongo searched for one of the Western New York members who could give him a ride home, as it has been a long time since he has seen his beloved Biker Becky. There are a few members that live very close to him, and all of the members would have gladly given him a ride home regardless of how far away they live from him. Suddenly he spots someone!! This woman looks oddly familiar yet he can't quite place her! Who can it be?? She almost looks like Mini Muffin, but not quite... Who is this strange lady?? Who is going to take Bongo home? What is going to happen when the Syndicate gets the bill for this wild shindig? Will there be a follow up meeting in Canada this winter? What will Bongo get for Christmas????? Stasy tuned for possible answers on AS THE WHEELS TURN!

The Venture was a far superior bike to the Aspencade but it stuill was a decent touring bike, but it is all personal preference. Once again, any older bike is going to need a certain amount of TLC and Preverntative Maintenance. That '66 with the chrome toaster gas tank does look cool!! -
Yeah yo do!!!

Good luck Paul, but beware, retirement life grows on you quite quickly...
