  1. OK Dan, funny enough, or should I dig deeper into the archives???
  2. Hmmm, way back when I first established my paypal account I became verified thru my bank account as well as a credit card. This allows them to directly deposit any paypal funds owed me into my checking account if I so desire, and it allows me to automatically pay off my paypal account using electronic funds transfer on the day of my chosing. Been using paypal for several years now with no glitches. I remember the verification process involved them giving me a random amount into my checking account for the sum of less than a dollar for free. it ws around 50 cents but hey, free money is free money... If there is any concern you can always open a bank account specifically for paypal, a few of my friends did exactly that!
  3. Yes, that is what I was thinking on, but after what Don posted for the stock tightness, that might be a tad high. Maybe more in the 15 - 20 ft lb range then. What would be more important is to make sure the fork tubes and ths i.d. of the clamps are free of any oil, dirt, etc. Cleaning with isoprophyl alcohol prior to assembly is a good idea...
  4. My Daddy always told me "tight is tight, anything more is stress and strain." That being said I'm not sure of the exact torque but I'm thinking somewhere around 25 - 30 ft lbs...
  5. All I get is a blank screen, and at the bottom of the "Forums" page there is no statistics for chat...

  7. Swifty, for once I'm 100% in agreement with you!!!

  11. We use a trailer for trips longer than a weekend. For overnight/weekend trips we strap a small suitcase on the luggage rack and secure with bungees...
  12. You might want to look at the F4 windshield, they are high quality and VERY durable. In hot climates like yours I would recommend vents. F4 offers a discount to Venturerider MEMBERS (hint hint). For tires I too am a fan of the Dunlop Elete 3's as they wear like iron. Other good ideas for the bike is Kuryakin longhorn highway pegs, and depending on your arm length a set of Flanders handlebars to bring the handles back and out a tad. Several members have complained about back aches after riding for hours and changing the handlebars seems to cure this. Unfortunately you will also need longer throttle cables and hydraulic lines as well. You might also want to consider a decent driver backrest like the Utopia. If you are looking for bling, Diamond R is one of my favorite places to shop. Once again membership has it's priveleges there as well! OK I'm thru spending your money for now...
  13. Look Joe, lets get the facts straight. Growing old is mandatory, growing UP is optional...
  14. That is just plain disgusting!!! What in the world is their reasoning for that???

  18. Yah! I'm thinking tyou should be able to find feet at Lowes or Home Depot or any hardware store that will match up close enough. Good luck!
  19. Yah! Me too, 100% German ancestry as well! From Bodden and Bath, forgot which was which. Two of the most common names, Scharf and Schultz. Maybe some time we will get over there. Ben, would love to see the pictures when you get back. Also, are you putting together the M&E for the January Toronto Bike Show???
  20. Apology accepted Dick! My feeling was with the thread in the forum it was in to stray from it's original intent was inappropriate. As Captain Joe mentioned, yours was a shorter response, you weren't the only poster nor were you the first. You sir are a true Gentleman and I highly respect you for this thread!

  25. I heard an interesting statistic on TV a few months agfo where some people spend more money per month on their cell phone than they do on grocerys!! Those smart phones are smart all right, they know how to extract your money!!! We use cell phones so little that we switched to prepaid phones. We load them with around $100 per year and astill have time left over at the end of the year...
