  2. AND where in Mississippi :icon_smile_question:icon_smile_question
  3. Personal preference is that the passing light are on anytime the headlight is on (high beam or low beam).
  4. When you say "the fuse" was blown, which one specifically? Have you checked to be sure you have not pinched any wires when you assembled the passing lights? You may have a direct short to ground, which would certainly blow any fuses. Without a wiring diagram, off hand, I don't know what the green wire is. Using a volt meter or test light, is there power to the green wire when the ignition is on an no power when the ignition is off? If I were going to not use a relay, I think I would still look for the wire that supplies power to the dimmer switch, as a power source for the passing lights.
  5. Don't know about the Christian, or cooking, but will one out of three work. She's a cousin's ex and used to be nutty as a fruitcake, but looks like she rides!!! http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/profile.php?id=1558121521&ref=ts Oh, and wants to see NU-England...
  6. Better yet if you don't need the CB, turn it off.
  7. If you do head for Kenny's lemme know I wanna see how it's done...
  8. Mine is missing as well, but the navigator doesn't have a headset, so I haven't worried about it yet. But, I am wondering how it mounts, as all I see is a small threaded hole in the switch.
  9. It's when you get back on the "other" (2-wheeled) bike and forget to put your feet down that you get in trouble... :yikes:
  10. Posted this on another thread, but may ba applicable here; Just curious how long, time wise, an Avon should last? I'm not sure at what mileage the PO put the Avon on the front of my '99 RSV, but the date code is 0906. The bike had 16,700 miles on it when I got it in September and has just shy of 22,000 miles on it now. When I got it I had to replace the rear tire, which also was an Avon, but it was slick. I inspected the front tire carefully when I saw cracking mentioned, some time ago, and found no cracks. Yesterday I made a quick check of the front tire and found at least one crack, which seems a little deeper than a cosmetic imperfection. Tread wise, the tire looks to have a good many miles left in it, but I don't have a tread gauge, nor do I know the depth of a new tire. I do have, thanks to one of our members, a 404 tire off of an '08 RSMV with very few miles on it, so I guess I'll be putting it on shortly. I had a blow out on a front tire many years ago and don't wanna do that again!!! Did I see it mentioned here that Avon warrants their tires for 5 years? I wonder if I have a shot at some help?
  11. Brings to mind the supposed ad about a dog; "great dog, eats anything, loves kids..."
  12. '09 = Warranty, does it not???
  13. He seems immune to a shock collar. but I think they are having second thoughts...
  14. Buddy needs a good home. He is three and needs a backyard to run in. He is great with kids and is a lap dog too. My daughter took him in after someone dumped him out in our neighborhood as a scrawney 10lb puppy. My daughter, also seen in the picture, was convinced the "poor little thing" would not get very big. I looked at his paws at the time and laughed!!! He really is a great dog, just spoiled and scared of thunder. Since they don't have a fenced yard, he has outgrown them, as a house dog, especially with the new grand baby.
  15. :clap2: Now, where are the pictures??? :stickpoke:
  16. I bet he works on that Honda 305 Dream...
  17. See if this helps. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=426827&highlight=relay#post426827

  19. What he was saying is the LOAD of the passing lights will not go through the ignition switch. That load will go through the relay. Only the relay control circuit load will go through the ignition switch. The relay control coil draws MUCH less amperage than the passing light bulbs. I personally would not tap the "lighter" plug, as it is powered, at least on my RSV, in the ACC position as well as the RUN position. Where I chose to get the control voltage is from the power supply wire to the dimmer switch. (In fact I even put a relay in the headlight circuit, so now even the headlight LOAD does not go through the ignition switch. But That may cloud your issue.) The dimmer switch is only powered when the ignition switch is in the RUN position. Thus I can play the radio, in the ACC position, without any lights being on, as they would be if the control power was picked up from the "lighter" plug wire.
  20. Yup, our 7mo old grandson always seems to have more food ON the baby than IN the baby!!! Shown here wearing his carrots:p
  21. My:2cents: The wire I tapped to go to the #86 terminal of the relay is the common power wire to the dimmer switch.
  22. Dale, What's Archie Campbell say? If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all!!! That's all about to change when you meet the "Texas Bunch", especially if Gunboat brings his HAMMER!!!
  23. Add me to the list, for 1.
  24. Check out this thread... http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46271
  25. You might try Pinwall Cycles and look for a Venture trunk mount bracket. It won't be a quick disconnect, though. Kinda wish I had gone that way.
