  1. We recently spent $2500 on a young Black Angus bull. We put him out with the herd but he just ate grass and wouldn't even look at a cow. I was beginning to suspect he was gay, if that's possible with a bull. Anyhow, I had the Vet come have a look at him. He said the bull was very healthy, but possible a little young, so he gave me some pills to feed him once per day. Holy crap! The bull started to service the cows within two days. All of my cows! He even broke through the fence and bred all my neighbor's cows! He's been breeding just about everything in sight. He's like a machine!" I don't know what in hell was in the pills the Vet gave him but they kind of taste like peppermint.
  2. I was wondering if anyone here owns a Pit Bull Motorcycle Lift...and if so...could you give us your appraisal of using this lift?
  3. Will Rogers and some of his sayings: 1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco. 2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day. 3. There are two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither works. 4. Never miss a good chance to shut up. 5. Always drink upstream from the herd. 6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. 7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back into your pocket. 8. There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves. 9. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. 10. If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there. 11. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back. 12. After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut. RandyA
  4. A little entertainment, no bull. Oh, guess I should look again. Hey, I'm not a farmer. http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/lXKDu6cdXLI?rel=0
  5. A small group of us (10) went white water rafting on Thursday while others went riding to various places......I think we had the best time, we laughed the whole time. Next Vogel we will be going again, it was the best time I have had in a long, long time. I think the pictures speak for themselves......... Jamie and Dana rode the bull over the falls, normally only one person rides the bull, but VR members aren't normal by any stretch of the imagination.......:rotfl:
  6. A big Texan stopped at a local restaurant following a day roaming around in Mexico. While sipping his tequila, he noticed a sizzling, scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table. Not only did it look good, the smell was wonderful. He asked the waiter, 'What is that you just served?' The waiter replied, 'Ah senor, you have excellent taste! Those are called Cojones de Toro, bull's testicles from the bull fight this morning. A delicacy!' The cowboy said, 'What the heck, bring me an order.' The waiter replied, 'I am so sorry Senor, there is only one serving per day because there is only one bull fight each morning. If you come early and place your order, we will be sure to save you this delicacy.' The next morning, the cowboy returned, placed his order, and that evening was served the one and only special delicacy of the day. After a few bites, inspecting his platter, he called to the waiter and said, 'These are delicious, but they are much, much smaller than the ones I saw you serve yesterday.' The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, 'Yes, Senor, sometimes the bull wins.'
  7. Remember when Evel Kneivel on ABC Sports was the big thing??????
  8. Specifically Houston Texans?? I'm only asking because Mario Williams (#90) is from Richlands... I was 4 years ahead of him in school, but my BIL and him grew up together... His father lives not even 1/2 mile down the dirt road I live on, his Grandmother is across the street, and his cousins... Well, they're the ones that raise pit bulls for fighting, and had the Pit Bull that killed my dog a few months ago. (For those of you wondering, the Pit Bull and I had a run in a few weeks later and the Pit Bull didn't fair so well.) I've met them all, and his father seems rather nice... His grandmother is FUNNY (in an old-crotchety-paranoid-kinda-way) and I'll just bite my toungue about the cousins... I just find it amazing the money some NFL players make, and his family lives in borderline poverty! A few years ago he bought his Grandmother a new washer and dryer, bought his Dad a Dodge Ram, and that was it. He hasn't been back to visit, and doesn't do anything else for them... Maybe I'm just a bird of a different feather, but if I was pulling anywhere even CLOSE to even $90k a year, I'd take care of the people who raised me... Okay, I'm done ranting.
  9. I haven't been here in a while to see how eveyone's doing... Last week a pit bull that belongs to the neighbors was let off-leash and killed our youngest dog, Taffy. She was a funny-lookin' breed, a mix between a Shih-Tzu and a Miniature Pinscher. She wasn't even 2 years old yet, and was the ABSOLUTE sweetest animal you could imagine, and would fall asleep if anyone rubbed her little belly. Weighing in at 5lbs, she was no match for the 90lb Pit that crushed her body, broke her back, 2 legs, cracked her skull open, and mauled her torso in a matter of 15 seconds. She was still barely alive (Bleeding out and unable to breathe) when I ran back outside (after getting my gun) but the pit bull was nowhere to be seen. I had to put her down myself, and it's the hardest thing I've had to do in a LONG time. I included some pictures of her as a puppy, and a recent one with her boyfriend, Murphy. (who is VERY sad about the loss of his best friend.) As if I needed another reason to hate Pit Bulls, or the stereotypes that own them. Anyhow, we already took it up with Animal control, and they went as far as 'labeling the pit bull as dangerous.' That's it, simply because my dog wasn't on a leash (in my own dang yard) I'm working on a way to ensure the pit ceases to live as a result of high-velocity lead poisoning in the cranial region... No success yet. We are going to put up a simple wood post & wire-fence (since chain link was more than we could afford to have installed) and hope that will suffice in protecting our December-Due-Baby, 2 young girls, our Mini-Dachshund, and whatever dog we adopt next. If I'm not mistaken, I thought a VR Member owned a pet-shop, or a shelter of sorts in NC... I don't remember who it was, but we're soon to be looking for a new family member, and would love to keep it in the VR family too.
  10. I have never driven a trike before, and found out it's not as simple as it looks! I need to practice the steering in an empty lot for a couple of hours!! I have to fight the urge to lean, and not to put my feet down! It's a whole different world for sure. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it though. Don't have much choice, do I?!!? Had an absolutely wonderful time yesterday! Met KY Rider for the first time along with B2Dad at Hannigans and we had a wonderful bredakfast together later. B2Dad showed us a local bike shop, Pit Bull (some of you may have heard of the Pit Bull lift) and I bought myself a new leather jacket as my old one is getting just that, OLD! Later we spent the afternoon in Paris! Tenessee that is. Helped out the local economy, Becky loves to shop! Met up fod dinner with B@ Mom and Dad, Mr. & Mrs. Monty, and Midnight for an excellent dinner! It's off to Nashville later this morning for a couple of days then back here, hopefully for a little riding Thursday compliments of KY Rider!!

    Look out......

well i couldn't beleave my ears this morning, so had to come back to the house to get hazel to stick her head out the door, but she thought she had heard the same, this morning with the wind chil was sitting at - 43.6, fired the dodge up to feed the elk, and thought i had heard geese, while we had a low clouds and couldn't spot them, then while out in the bull pasture setting snares, i had heard them again, and this time had spotted them, so you fellows in montana, and south look out, these birds weren't waisting any time gawking at the scenery.
  17. As I promised earlier here are some pictures of the Pit Bull lift. This is the air operated and I feel it was worth the extra money spent. You can use just the jack if you wish. The boxes. The lift ships at 110 pounds. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/002.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/005-1.jpg Next we opened her up. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/006-3.jpg Here are the Venture adapters. $39.00 for these. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/007-1.jpg Next install the front wheels making sure the locking nuts are started correctly. Really only one way to mount. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/012-4.jpg Next mount the jack to the lift. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/013-4.jpg Install the lift locks. These prevent the lift from moving. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/015-3.jpg Swing the saddle over the bottle jack as shown here. You can adjust the top part of the bottle jack for more height. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/016.jpg Install the air chuck assembley. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/019.jpg Here are the Venture adapters. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/021.jpg And the finished assembly. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/022-1.jpg I can not post pictures of lifting the bike at this time. Just a little warm in Arizona so it's ready to be trailered to cooler areas. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t51/runeight/009-1.jpg I was considering a table style of lift but just don't have the room. This should work with the Hayabusa after fairing removal. Pit Bull had $50.00 off when I purchased this model. Shipping was $80.00 at that time. Not cheap but a very well made motorcycle lift. hh
  18. Captain Bull a Delaware Indian chief settled the little community next door of Bulltown. Bulltown is famous for the civil war battle fought there. Our road has always been named Hemp Patch. Maybe this is where they raised there crop for the peace pipe. Anyway after living here most of my life we voted to change the name to Horseshoe Falls Lane. Were finally getting a fire locator address and took the opportunity to change. The wife never liked the name but I think my neighbor still carries on it's growing tradition for his peace pipe. :rotf:
